    Radar Jammer I hope!!!!
  10. The law on NEW PLATES is that it must have the new style font on it must be legal spacing, and must carry the makers name and postcode on it, to identify the plate if it has been mis made or mis represented. Also all makers selling RETAIL plates must be registered with DVLA and keep records of all plates made and V5 logbook or V948 retention. You can still get plates made by non registered companies, eithier based out of the uk mainland or from display plates companies, but any made in the uk which are non legal are likely to have "not for road use" on the back. I make plates at work, andive heard nothing of the vin/chasis thing, I cant see that happening, as any passer by would be able to clone your car by looking at the reg plate.
  11. Just a thought, but its not that noisey wheel bearing you got doing it is it? I know they squaek when they are well and truely buggered. Did you put the pads with the wear indicators on the outside?
  12. LOL I think Tamworth is a bit of a drive from AUSTRAILIA!!!!!!!!
  13. Ok while the pads are off. Take the top off the resevior and put some kitchen roll round it. Spray brake cleaner all over the pistons, then force them back with a "suitable tool" Then put it all back together and see how you go. Good luck (again)
  14. Dunno, pehaps the new ones are a bit sharper and not so covered in brake dust so the squeal louder?? Im grasping a straws now!!
  15. Van in derby has a grey one too. Mine has grey seats!!!
  16. Wear indicators go on the outside, think thats your problem.
  17. Your a lucky fella, glad your ok, as said prieviously its only a lump of metal.....well it is now......it used to be a finely sculpted work of automotive art!!!
  18. 1st off have the pistons siezed on on them, may need cleaning off with some brake cleaner. 2nd could be the wear indicators touching the disc, they can get bent quite easy when putting the new pads on, I take the wear indicators off mine from new now so that I get no grief from them as they tend to make noise when the pads are only 1/2 worn. 3rd. Im not sure on this but i think its possible to put the rears on the wrong way round, therefor the wear indicators will permanantly rub on the disc. Might be worth checking that the wear indicators are on the outside. Good Luck.
  19. I believe that the gearbox oil is not pumped around in the same way when in N or P noticed this when i had a leak on my cooler, and it only leaked in 1,2 or D which means in N the oil isnt being pumped to the cooler and this will increase your chances of a gearbox blow up. Ive got a reciept in my service history for a new autobox.....£1,400 in 1999 so god knows how much a new one is now!!! If i were you id shop round the recovery firms if i were you, local ones, i got my zed recovered after the pipe split on the cooler for £70 for about a 40 mile trip, much better than a new box me thinks.
  20. SPACERS MAKE YOUR WHEELS FALL OFF!!!! Dont they shrimpy!!!!!
