Rear fogs are put on j specs in varions different ways, some use one set of the 4 rear brake lights, some use a couple of the reverse lights with red bulbs, and some screw a nasty halfords jobby to the bottom of the rear bumper and some just use a 'friendly mot tester!! If you look under the panels in the boot at the back of the lights you may find some extra wires that may lead you to yours. Also i have seen one where the front fog switch has been used but this made the front fogs inop as foglights and only worked as sidelights.
  4. Took it for a run today, put a tenner in and did nearly 100 kms, thats a happy 23 to the gallon:D ...... ..... now wheres that copy of moped trader???!!!:D
  5. well, halfords for bulbs! Seriously though the fuse box has to be the place to start in the drivers side footwell, if its a j spec theres a fuse box translation thingy floating about somewhere on here....... http://www.aus300zxclub.com/tech/fuses.htm there it is.:D
  6. Lol, brilliant.:D :D :D
  7. Since having my zed ive always thought the MPG was pretty average 18 to 25 ish not great but its a 3 litre with two turbos so what do you expect. Recently got new job, only 2 or 3 miles from home so the zeds bareley warm by the end of the run, also cold weather not helping to make it warm up, also leaving the turbo timer on 60 secs min and being lazy when theres ice on the car by letting it run till the heaters melt it. So put 40 quid in last thursday and have got a gutting 190kms out of it, at 78.9ppl (optimax aswell!!!) by my maths thats 10.72mpg. Wouldnt mind if it wasnt running right but apart from a slight blow on the exhaust, its sweet. Having said that it could do 5 to the gallon and i wouldnt part with it!....now wheres that ice scraper?!!!

  9. Im in nuneaton, only half hour away, if youve got no one as yet give me a bell 07801 442937 anytime, im no mechanic but im on my second zed (and i learnt alot from the first one!!).
  10. Didnt know youd had it resprayed in knightfire red mac!!
  11. I thought they could only do you for using a phone whilst driving if you actually do something wrong, ie stray out of lane etc. Then again i suppose theyve bought new laws in now. Takes the piss really, its only the same as smoking, or drinking a can of pop whilst driving, it would be interesting to see where we stand when using car stereo remote controls!!
  12. Sorry to hear the sad news mate, gutted for you. Hope you get it all sorted.
  13. Well thats what i got done for, but i m sure registration plate offences are all non endorsable.

Got all 3!! (took feckin hours to download) GIS 2 is the best though. 3 is far too well shot, almost boring.
  15. Offence code H246 - Registration plate failing to comply to regulations, non endorsable £30 fine. Courtesy of Nottingshire constabulary!!
  16. Mac, you need to mod the dishwasher to increase the speed, Firstly bigger water injectors are needed, then youll need to upgrade the water piping to stainless hard pipes to deal with the increased pressure, then cos your getting more water into the system, you'll need something to get it out quicker, like a large waste water dumping valve. After these simple mods you should see an increase in bwp ( brake wash power) but you will notice a drop in your WPG (washes per gallon). Oh and dont forget to change the calgon tablet every 300 washes!!
  17. I thought Mobil were part of BP, and Nelson works for Shell doesnt he?
  18. You cant drive like that with your mother in the car!!
  19. Or you could just cover it with peanut butter!!!:D

The police reckon that there has been a massive increase in reg plate thefts recently, so people can just slap another reg on the car and someone else will get the fine. So surely you can just report your reg plates stolen once and then drive in the congetion charge area and then say, it wasnt me i had my reg plates nicked a while ago!! They reckon the next ones will be on the M25, and the M6 around Birmingham, makes me laugh, the goverment give us crap roads, they get congested, then they charge us to drive on them. Surely they could get the roads sponsored by cigarette companies, they could afford the billions of pounds for repairs as theyre not allowed to advertise anywhere else, except of course formula 1.
  21. Yep, that was exactly what i was about to say danny!!!:D :D :D
  22. Easiest way to tell is get a few online quotes for insuance, one for a z31,one for a z32, and one with your reg plate. Whichever one the price matches with the one on the reg plate is whatever dvla have got your car registered as.
  23. Rigid???? Thats a joke, ever driven it covered in ice!!!:D :D :D
  24. Quite possible to see mine in warwick, but like macca, mines a proper fast colour too!!
  25. I believe that the description two axle rigid body coupe referes to the z31 model, as my first one said this and when i got insurance quotes using the reg no i got the same price as getting a quote on a z31 (Steve Burns might be able to help us out on this one, i think he knows a few people with z31's). The z 32 was about £100 higher. Easiest way is to get your insurance company to state z32 model on the policy somewhere. As trying to get dvla to change their descriptions is a bit difficult to say the least. I bet yours is a 1989 model, as dvla believe that z32 werent made till 1990, which in the uk mabe true but the japs got em first, my old one was an 88 on an f plate. My current z says 300zx 2+2 turbo coupe, which i think is correct, however it also says ive got a 29,998cc engine. 30 litre twin turbo zed, nice!!! Oh and if you do decide to get it changed with dvla, write them a leetter explaining whatthe problem is and tell them that you want it changing, bunot recorded on their records as a model change etc, as it has simply been an incorrect description in the first place, otherwise you may get hpi check problems when/ if you sell it and lose value on the car as a result. Best of luck mate.
