Got my pads front pads today £12 bargain!!! Also got some prices of other bits and bobs got some other prices too; These are aprox but but would only vary by a few % WA6609 Air Filters £5.20 ish (each) WL7143 Oil Filter £2.10 ish QTB581 Timing Belt £27.00 ish QTB 398 Timing belt tensioners and QTB399 something they list as a "pulley" pretensioner perhaps??? are both £16 ish each but these are non stock parts so they need an order of over 6 to supply them. If anyone wants me to get any of these for them I will no probs, except the tensioners there is no min or max order, Im not making on these just want to provide zed owners with some cheap bits if i can. I'll post others as and when i get prices

I work at QH (Quinton Hazel) makes stock replacement car parts, today i found out that we do brakes for the 300zx (stock obviously) The prices i got are list prices ex vat, but i get them at list price plus vat minus a discount, so somewhere about the same!!! Heres the prices Front Pads £11.47 (set) Rear Pads £8.19 (set) Front discs £47.49 (each) Rear Discs £67.15 (each) Not bad eh???

Tim, i would love to have a closer look at that stuff on your car, are you going to the bolney meet on the 26th or may i have to wait till billing, i have always been very interested in the shift at will thing, espacially the way you can hide most of the bits and bobs thus making it look stock. Also, does it make the car feel quicker/ more responsive?

ive got a good short vid of a 300zx doing the quarter in 8.75 which i was quite impressed with, but 7 secs, blimey thats nearly as quick as mine!!;)

Sony soundstation logic 3??? If so when you got it there should be two types of lead with it one which connects the jack in the back of the soundstation to the playstaion with all the fancy connectors on it, the other is a plain jack to jack lead ( the kind of one you could plug into a walkman) if you connect one end of it to the soundstation and the other to the headphones output on the back of the pc, you should be in business!! Least thats what ive done with mine and it works ok!

All i know on this is that if you put the demist on (with the temp set at 35)it will blow air at the screen regardless or the engine temp but when the engine gets warm it will blow hot air as opposed to the colder air it started off with, but if you set it to say 35 auto the blowers will not kick in untill the engine has devoloped sufficiant heat in the water to blow the hot air into the car. Silly question but you have checked youve got any or enough water in the system, as no water means no heaters.........which is commonly followed by buggered engine!!

Mine tends to sort of "miss a beat" occasionally when its been outside all night and its very cold in the morning, ticks over fine for say 5 or 6 seconds then has a very tiny "miss" then carries on as normal, drives perfect when moving either hot or cold. I thought maybe plugs or coil pack connectors, ill have to clean all the connectors under the bonnet me thinks ( why not, ive cleaned everything else under the bonnet!!). Having said that my temp sensor is held on with a cable tie!!!! but it stops the fan randomly comming on!!! If you are going to clean any of the connectors that are close to/ attached to the engine be very careful not to break them, as they get very brittle due to the extreme heat under the bonnet.

Im was all for the war, but if they'd of said at the start that they were going to pay for it with our road tax, i may have paused for thought!!!!!

Is it a noise, or is there any vibration with it too?? My previous zed had what was more of a noise than a vibration comming from the back though as time went on it got louder and began to vibrate, when i ran the car on axle stands i found that one of the driveshafts leading to the wheel was spinning in almost an elipse. So thats what i had , a knackered driveshaft, or one of the bits it attaches to. Might be worth running it on axle stands with the wheels in the air, then again with the wheels off, see if that narrows it down a bit, having said that, i was told it was possible to cause damage this way (not to mention being bloody dangerous!!) so get someone else to confirm this before going ahead. Good luck, and hope the problem is an inexpensive one.

Them 99 spec rears look better and better every time i see em im definately getting them done. Syko, looking at all that crap under the bonnet id reccomend the oral-B with the flexible head!! I think the kit looks loveley.

The 300bhp are the US versions i think, but theyre all left hookers so not alot of use over ere Also stock J specs have a warning chime for over 110kmph and wont allow cruise control at over 74 mph The jspec autos beep in reverse j specs have slightly different bulbs j spec has lower but softer suspension j specs are more likeley to have extra goodies that you didnt expect, tv's, turbo timers lighty up bits and stuff j specs sometimes have odd parking ariels drilled into the front bumper Heres the biggy J SPEC AUTOS DO NOT HAVE A DECENT OIL COOLER FITTED AS STANDARD AND THE BOX IS MORE LIKELEY TO GO TITS UP WITHOUT ONE, UK SPECS DO. (I cannot recomend strongly enough getting one if you gt a j spec and it doesnt have one!!!) uk spec has no hi level brake light in the spoiler j spec parts are generally no more expensive than uk and finally none are particularly economical mine can do upto 27 to the gallon, but then again it can do as little as 11 !!! (and thats stock) And if your wondering what colour to get go for red as everyone knows thats the best colour! Happy Hunting. Oh and a bit of buying advise when dealing with importers; There iS A HILL in Nottingham that you should not go up, and be carefull in Birmingham that you dont slip over if you should go down a GRAVEL DRIVE
