  1. yer maybe, but to be honest turbo jet (shaft) engines very well developed and not sure this could replace them any time soon. Guess if he can prove these things will last they would be good to use in cars
  2. as for replacing all jet engines, not sure where he is going with that? Not going to beat the 40,000lbs of thrust we get from our 2 at work!
  3. test drives not the easist thing to get from my experiance, ive never driven a skyline and was looking for one at the same time i was looking for a zed (un-decided between the two). Anyone with a sh1t skyline was happy to let you drive it (but whats the point if you know its not been looked after before you start it!) and the good ones dont want "test pilots". In the i managed to find my zed and am pleased but if your after a drive think one of the uk forums be a good start and just offer the guys a go in your zed, should grease the wheels a bit.
  4. sounds good, but as a stuipid newbie to this kind of thing, what should i expect when i get there? how many of you guys going? how much will it cost? what state should my zed be in etc etc etc most guys camp or hotel local?
  5. this one im after is only a second machine to drag round for emails etc, ive got a hi spec P4 laptop i use for games etc. Was looking about £900 trying to get 1gb ram 100gb hdd decent INTEL processor, sony got some good deals with the onxy black screen at the moment too, (ive got an onyx black screen on my normal laptop and its great, cannot recommend it enough!!)
  6. Wondered how long it would be before all our posts about the new toy poped up! No idea about your code though mate, just got my software sorted myself, but lucky i guess it worked first time. Could see any harm in removing it and reinstalling, its quick enough to do. Separate note, just configuring mine for tire size and wondering if i am best to change the settings from oem to my rear wheels or the front ones? Guessing it shouldnt matter too much other than 0-60 times?
  7. After a new laptop and was wondering if anyone works for either of these to see if i could get any discount. cheeky i know but hey worth asking
  8. Think its the same thing bud, just tends to be thinks like massarti that have "bi" rather than twin turbos.
  9. Hi guys, basically im looking for some kind of weekend type event over the summer that includes a sat/sun night stop and the usual car shanigans (run what you brung etc...) and having never been to anything like this before just wondering where i should start and what sort of state i should get my zed too so as not to let us down.
  10. looking good mate (insert stuipid question here ---> whats the catch tank do? just catch oil from the turbo lines or something?
  11. no problems mate, was just trying to avoid the re-install.
  12. Yes, having checked the microsoft KB it appears the only way to convert it back is to format the volume which isnt helpful as it is the system volume. The other thing i am confused about is the partition magic support website doesnt mention a problem with dynamic discs although the help section isnt great and i might have just missed it. I am using version 8 of PM and that seems to be the most up-to-date, but it seems a pointless program now if it wont resize the partition and forces me to format as anyone can resize partitions on a clean install
  13. Ive been in the disc management but can-not see an option for changing it back from a dynamic disc? Do any 3rd party type programs do it ?
  14. i have had a look graham but havent been able to find that option.. anyone know where it is?

Andy in lincoln, black TT willing to go about 50miles i guess.
  16. or can a dynamic disc be cinverted to standard then resized?
  17. so no way we can resize the apparent partitions on a dynamic disc?
  18. my mates pc is HP but he only has a recovery disc. Yes the drive is a dynamic disc if that alters anything guys.
  19. i no but hp dont give an xp disc, and my xp is on sony recovery disc so same problem
  20. ok thanks, anything else likely to throw it off?
  21. there is some kind of abs diag you can do, if you search for it their should be a link...
  22. Parked the zed next to a 406coupe thing today and noticed it had brembo brakes on. They didnt look a huge amount different in size to zed calipers but should be cheaper than getting hold of skyline ones (as with all things french!) and was wondering if they would fit?
  23. no PM wont even let me resize the partiton? As it stands atm it has one single 80gb parition on the drive. It only has about 3 gb of data, defraged etc. Want to reduce that partition down to 40gb, then make a new one in the free space, but its not working...? any ideas? what version of PM are you using?
  24. alot in short for a sports car, in the process of putting mine on a sensible diet, the stock electric seat weighs 150kgs alone!
  25. good advice, on the coolant level, whats the best way to check the coolant level? I have heard of running the car, then taking off the rad cap and then toping up the rad level? Or is it just a case of the car being cool and making sure the rad is full plus the overflow res?
