im using a profec b spec II which gives a boost read out and it hits 10/11psi. My car still doesnt feel that fast to be honest. As said il be getting datascan from the group buy, but wondering if there is anything else i could check (uk car always run on optimax or bp ultimate, chipped, apexi induction, grounding kit, scorpion exhaust, uprated radiator, series 2 ptu etc...) GUys, my scuttle panel is showing her age and was just wondering if there is a way to repaint it. I know some guys sell replacements but im in the raf and thinking our body shop on station could manage the scuttle panel. What sort of colour / undercoating / prep would be required? Cheers guys

And to be honest i was hoping for a fast car, not sure where the problem is really ... hoping datascan will give me a clue when the group buy closes so i can see whats going on.

cheers dave, dont suppose you (or anyone else in lincs) fancies giving me a hand sometime to bleed this, im happy to have a go at most things, but thinking brakes better with a bit of supervision... How much 5.1 do i need to flush the lines and then replace to full?

time for a manual conversion maybe? its what ive got in mind if (touch wood) my auto box gives up..

i had exactly the same symptoms and it was a crappy connection onto the TPS. I was also directed to the crank angle sensor. I took my time cleaning all the contacts onto the sensors and the looms around the engine bay (including the MAF) and the problem was fixed. As said above worth trying another maf but cleaning the contacts definatly wont hurt, and you might be supprised like i was,,.

i had the same recently mate, turned out to be a badly hacked into fuse box in the pasenger footwell. It had previously had some corrosion on the sidelight relay, and someone had done a real bodge job of putting a new one in. Took it to zed world and had the side light circuit rewired. Strange that you have also lost the dipped main though, might be something to do with the switch rather than the fuses as the sidelights are seperate to the dipped circuit.

that makes more sense, what fluid are people using in their brakes? dot 5.1 or 3? im looking for fast road use occasional track day no major beating, but want decent brakes...

i believe that datascan is a more basic but more user friendly interface where as consul allows you to fully adjust and fault find the zed ecu. Hopefully some of the guys currently running datascan will be able to give a more detailed answer..

Guys, i have started a group buy for datascan. I know there is some interest in this, but its not been co-ordinated really. All being well we will get enough guys to get the datascan and cables from lagrath as the price he is offering is great. If not i have set up a discount with blatz so there will be some discount.

how do you bleed the brakes / flush the fluid out guys?

no undertray on mine, or on my last car (200sx), dont really see them offering much protection appart from keeping a bit of dirt off the bottom

how do i go about swapping the fluid and flushing the lines/ bledding then guys? What sort of fluid should i stick in? i had the fluid swapped on my old 200 when i uprated the brakes for some dot5.1 fluid but by AP, but wondering what people use in their zeds

For the 2nd time the mrs has left her lights on without noticing :headvswal Anyone know of an easy way to wire up a warning buzzer? Other suggestions on how to stop her leaving lights on welcome.

Hi guys, took my zed out for a drive today as i hadnt moved her for a week or so. Thing was i got to the end of the road and came to break at a junction and the brake pedal went full travel and the car still wasnt slowing effectively. Carried on the rest of the drive bit more cautiously and the brakes definatly were not up to much. Since ive had the zed ive always thought the brakes should be better. Just wondering now if the fluid might need changing / brakes bleeding etc. The brakes are stock calipers with ebc drilled and grooved discs so surly the braking shouldnt be that bad. Ive never changed brake fluid / bled brakes before, so just wondering what the symptoms are and how to go about it... cheers all

i thought the level of detail put into the dvd install kind of sums up the way the car has been looked after.

i might be being thick but i cant find this gb anywhere?

legrath that price is great mate, can i suggest we get a GB set up by yourself in the right aera as there does seem to be the interest, its not massively co-ordinated. As for cost of laptop to run it, either get some kind of in car computer, or buy a laptop off ebay, they are selling around 150£ for something half decent.
