  4. Will do buddy, i've got a 5v transformer and adapter so i'll mock something up and post some pictures :) Sorry Mondo, i'm a bugger when it comes to ebay - i always snipe in the last 10 seconds with an educated guess with what would win it and 9 times out of 10 i win it
  5. There was cake?!?!?!
  6. Cheers Gary, i was sitting in the lobby at a wedding with 1% battery and a crap wifi signal so i'm amazed i managed to get it in the end
  7. I've got a big roll of LED self adhesive strips at home so might have to make a little wooden base and have a play with some leds and a 5v transformer :)
  8. I just missed the draw as i walked up - i'll dig my ticket out later :)
  9. Sorry to anyone bidding on it but i thought this was awesome and i wasn't going to miss out on it - definitely going on the desk at work :D I realise Danny at DTA used to sell them probably cheaper as well but i haven't seen anywhere else sell them since :)
  10. That's awful news mate, you must be gutted :( Hope you manage to get it sorted out soon!
  11. A brilliant brailliant day - nice to see so many zeds in one place, great venue for it and really well pulled off. Thanks for all your hard work Lexx and the team. Roobarb your car is quite frankly the most gorgeous looking zed i've seen to date. Great you could make it :)
  12. That looks great buddy :) Well done, love that colour! :hyper:
  13. Fantastic photos buddy, what a great day. We definitely need to do some more of these :)
  14. Well done guys all looking great :) Any updates si?
  15. That's what i was thinking - after sitting for 2 years i'm suspecting a loose belt/dried out but checking and tightening the belt is pretty much all i can do before cov tomorrow Fingers crossed
  16. It did sound like the fan rather than the pump making any noise and temperature is perfect so assuming it might be the fan may have jammed at some point. I've just remembered what a complete ballache it is getting the bottom pulley off to get to the bottom bolt on the pump and that could take hours - more than i've got tomorrow morning.n I'll check belt tensions and clearance but that's all i can do. Think i'll have to chance it, keep an eye on the temp gauge and if it starts to go up or there's any nasty noises stop and get a lift from mr AA back home. I'll be stripping everything down after this show anyway to do some wire tidying/change the rad for the ally one/water pipes etc FAMOUS LAST WORDS......
  17. I thought the aircon was on a separate belt to the viscous fan and the fan was bolted to the water pump? (admittedly it's been about 5 years since i've worked on a VG engine!) Might check the compressor (it's coming out anyway in my weight saving manouver over the summer)
  18. That's what i was planning on doing only i'm out till late tonight and if i start ripping the rad and everything else out tomorrow morning i may not make it to the meet - bloody zeds!
  19. That looks superb, i'm definitely considering the option of the moustache now but I do have a rather nice bumper sitting in need of repair that would look perfect on the look i'm going to be going for :)
  20. Nope, no aircon at all - always make a point of putting it on econ mode
  21. Gave the zed a wash over last night (and no no water got in the engine bay) to get it clean and ready for Saturday and decided to give it a run over to Ashby when i went to play badminton as my parents left. As i followed them out the estate i had to pull over as the fan was making some horrible noises accompanied by the smell of burning rubber belt :( Usually as i switch the car on the fan is quite evident but thinking back the car was very quiet for a change. When i had pulled over the viscous fan was rotating and blowing air at some rate which seemed normal. The rest of the journey it drove fine but did seem to dip the revs a little when trying to move off which it's not done before. Once it warmed up it was fine. Setting off back after it had cooled a little revving it seemed to bring on a smell of slipping belt again. Why do zeds always do this the night before an event(!) What's everyone's thoughts? 2 years off the road has siezed the water pump? Viscous fan needs replacing (although that wouldn't cause the belt to slip)? take the tools and a spare water pump/fan with me just in case tomorrow?
  22. Hahaha i've missed this forum
  23. I'm pretty sure this is what peach used on mine - it's bloody lovely stuff!
  24. Looking rather fantastic Si - i really hope you get it done but it's looking like you still have a hell of a lot to do :(
