  1. Just picked the zed up and words and pictures can't show how good it looks now. Just over the moon it looks like this! Cheers Peach :)
  2. Footman James 34 years old, male living in the midlands 5000 limited use, classic policy, including commuting to single place of work Declared wheels, coilover suspension, stainless exhaust and respray £263 for 12 months
  3. Check your tps voltages - had this problem on my old black zed years ago and that's all it was
  4. Cheers Gary, can't tell you how nice it was bombing down the country roads with the windows down in the sun yesterday :) Peach is good just incredibly busy what with 4 kids (!) and lots of work. It was good to catch up with him though and he was so happy to see a zed. I think he'll be back in one at some point soon ;) I haven't been to any meets for ages so only bumped into him once or twice at ashby folville before it was closed last year. See you in a couple of weeks! :)
  5. p.s. preview of my car getting "Peached" - i see the finished thing tonight so more pictures then :)
  6. And a preview of the car being "Peached"...
  7. MOT, Tax then swapped the bonnet and nosepanel for the gloss ones :)
  8. Well after fixing the headlight issue (yep third fuse, top row, footwell fusebox as predicted), managed to run out of petrol on the drive to the petrol station going up a hill and then a loose undertray i had to fix on the motorway - i finally reached the MOT station in Derby after a very nervous drive waiting for something to go wrong. The car flew through its MOT with just a comment on the pitted discs :) Managed to grab the tax on the way back then didn't get chance to drive it again till yesterday. Spent saturday afternoon swapping the matt grey bonnet/nosepanel for the gloss ones off my V8 project. Unfortunately time hasn't been kind to either the car or the bonnet over the past two years so yesterday I took a trip down to see Peach for a bit of a makeover and paint recondition. He sent me some preview pictures after the mopping session last night and it looks like a new car :) Hopefully picking the finished car tonight then it's onto cleaning the enginebay and reconditioning the leather/fitting the stereo. Can't wait for the birthday weekend now :hyper: SOME PICS :) Saturday morning before the mot... Yes i know it's not staying, just waiting to get my Momo Evo off my old car :P The face of a happy guy :D Gloss bonnet and nosepanel fitted - still a bit of realignment to go but already looks better! Next stop, zed birthday celebration! :)
  9. Sorry to hear this buddy, hope you get it resolved!
  10. Ahh that could be why it popped the fuse - I was using a normal bulb which would possibly overload the fuse. I'll stick it on the normal fogs switch - im planning on removing them anyway when I sort the bumper out :) Unfortunately I've changed all the interior for new panels plus there was no fog light on the back when I got it so assuming someone half inched it :D Cheers for letting me know buddy.
  11. ...yep that didn't happen. Managed to blow a fuse in the lighting circuit last night (i'm assuming the 3rd from the left in the footwell) and the lights ended up on permanent main beam so had to bail on the MOT this morning. I found a wire running to the back from under the dash that i assumed had been used to connect the fog light to a switch on the dash, daffy might know what that was connected to if he's about? There was also a live 12v cable under there with a connector on the end which i assumed was what it was fed on? I'll feed it off the main fogs i think like i did the V8 to be sure this time! All booked in for tomorrow - just hope it is that fuse that caused the problem! :(
  12. Haha, yes i've got a better place to mount it this time - blame slick pete for that :tongue_smilie: It's got a fair bit of work to bring it back to where you had it buddy but i'm on the case the next twelve months :) Hahaha no chance of that - the amount i spent on that V8 project i'll never get back. Just a nice tidy TT will do me now
  13. Cheers buddy you're a star :)
  14. On the plus side though - shiny new plates and a new bosch s4 battery to go on.... :)
  15. Well fate has intervened - I was getting the volvo mot'd today and it needed the front wishbone bushes doing so they offered to do that and reset the airbag light so I asked them to do that. Inadvertently they upset the cage around the bearings of the driveshaft and it split in two leaving me stranded in derby. The guys came out, picked me up, towed the car back, whipped the lower arm off and found the bearings floating loose inside the box. Managed to recover everything, they're fixing it gratis, lent me a car till its done and as way of apology have offered to fix and recharge the aircon (!) Fantastic service seeing as I was only going in for an mot. Bad news is that's pushed the zed back to Friday now :(
  16. It's a 1990 slicktop Twin Turbo mate, Daffy's old car - manual conversion to do yet and the front end needs sorting and respraying to its former glory but should be show ready for next summer! In the meantime - time to enjoy driving a zed again :hyper: Cheers buddy :)
  17. Well it's been under a cover for the past 18 months since I bought it but the red shorty is going back on the road tomorrow. Insurance sorted with Footman James - 5000 miles a year, all mods declared including coilovers, personal use plus commuting: £263 quid(!) Started it up for the first time in a few months yesterday and ran perfectly, fixed all the loose bodywork, just the horn to wire in tonight and it's ready to go! Just hope the plates arrive in time tonight! Excited! :hyper: I'm spending a couple of weekends on panel alignment, fitting things, then off to visit peach for a bit of TLC in the next couple of weeks :)
  18. Last match i spent sitting reinstalling my laptop - far more interesting  Unfortunately zed off the road till pay day next week then it's back on the road again :)
  19. BBQ is going on while i predict how much we lose by this time - i wish i'd had a tenner on it last time, predicted the score and order we'd lose by and nobody else believed me  We'll be following spain out the door....
  20. Randomly stumbled across this and thought if you haven't seen it already it could be of interest...
  21. Seen this a while ago but love watching it again - must have taken a fair old while to set it all up :)
  22. Cheers buddy will let you know about my dad (bantambunny senior) his final chemo session has been delayed so he doesn't know if he'll be up to it or not yet but i'm still coming.
