  1. Looking great dude!! Jealous yours has a top coat on before mine!
  2. ....actually no! Andy's photo shows the quadrant at the rear, your photo dictates the quadrant should be facing forward! Back to square 1! Anyone else????
  3. Thanks PolioJ. Doesn't look very 'Z32', although I trust it is and I assume that the rule of thumb is that the quadrant should always point to the front of the car.
  4. ....actually, I can see the difference, even with the different quadrant. That should help, thanks. :)
  5. Thanks - although my quadrants are the rarer steel type which are symmetrical. Actuation will still be different.
  6. I don't have either of them here to compare, well, one I do. I assume they're handed to fit the rods as they'll actuate in reverse. I can't for the life of me remember whether they are or not? Does anyone have a photo of both from reverse or at least be able to confirm whether they're handed or not? Thanks :)
  7. Now in primer. Note, this is just primer which is why the wheels are still on and the petrol area is masked. All to come off for final top coat. The car has to be moved in and out of the booth. Some final prep and sanding on this primer layer and back in she goes! So excited, I feel like a kid at Christmas! Top coat due next week. :)
  8. In she goes! Final prep and prime. All starting to happen now! :)
  9. Hahaha! I'll try and film it. Depends where I'm sat in the room!
  10. As some know, I'm often in the US either on holiday or some sort of Z Show whether it be one of the regional Midwestern shows or ZNationals. I was going to go to ZCon in San Diego in 2014 but timings were bad for me. This year however I've just booked tickets to go to ZCON in Austin, Texas which is the middle of next month. ZCON is probably the biggest gathering of Z Cars at least in the United States and possibly the world and is sponsored by Nissan Corporate and a number of high profile tuning manufacturers and parts suppliers and to many considered the Mecca of Z events. It used to be attended by Mr.K before his passing a few years ago. My main excitement is to meet Toshio Yamashita (aka Yama San) who will be doing a tech talk about the designing of the Z32. I'm super exited about this and have wanted to meet this chap for quite a number of years. I was supposed to be driving a Datsun Fairlady Roadster from Dallas down to Austin, but that ride is currently not available, it's a car I've driven a number of times and is owned by the ZCCA Liaison Officer. So....I'll just have to rough it in a friend's Z32 TT. We get to do a parade lap at the Circuit of the Americas which should be super cool! I'll add photos to this thread if anyone's interested.
  11. I did modify my S2 door cards in order to retain my door mounted seat belt fixtures. I did a full retro-fit using US spec rear quarter interior panels which didn't have any holes in them. Granted, yours is a shortie. Personally, I like the door mounted belts, they look a little different, they fit the emptiness of the door pillar which always looks like it should serve a purpose in having something bolted to it and it's what mine came with. Practically speaking, the belt is a closer reach and easier to put on and I haven't yet forgotten to undo my seat belt when trying to exit the car.
  12. Pretty sure Andy is being sarcastic. :) No information on mileage, no MoT and it looks tatty and unloved - I'd say it's over-priced by a few grand.
  13. Part(s) are NLA from European and US sources.

  15. The switch is hidden inside the latch. If you adjust the latch enough, it will work. You need to adjust it so that it latches as tight as you can get it before it won't latch after a hard slam....if that makes sense?
  16. Don't bother recovering them, just buy the velour ones he has. It'll all match that way.
  17. You ought to just buy the door panels and rear quarters from Jimmer. It'll match that way. I have some spare material you can use to cap the tiny cutouts on the rear quarter panels. You can then modify the door panels to fit using your old door cards as donors. I did mine and they look factory.
  18. Not suede, it's velour, I keep telling you! Going from leather to velour was the best decision I ever made on the interior of my Z. It's much more comfortable, much quieter and much more subtle. The trick is to find the best condition parts you can and that's not always that easy. I've replaced a lot of the interior plastics with brand new ones in mine and a passenger seat donor gave up its guts for my driver seat and it all looks nearly-new now! Also have a look at getting some series 2+ seat belt buckles; they tend to weather a little better than the faded ones in earlier cars. Best thing you can do is to try and buy 2 sets of front seats and use the passenger seat parts as a donor for the drivers side. I had the bolster swapped and all the foam to my drivers seat. Looks and feels fantastic.
  19. Did you buy that here?
  20. I think I'd rather smother myself in dog shit than be seen anywhere near that rancid blob of feline excrement (worst substance known to man).
  21. Agree - it's unlikely to be trim, but could be external panels and other mechanical parts that both Skyline and Z32 share.
  22. I'd pay good money to go at that with a hammer and chisel!
  23. Yeah, that's staying and visually the only external body modification that isn't based on an original.
