Starter motor relay - part number help
Interesting. I can clearly hear a relay, does the ignition have a relay itself when the key is fully turned?

Starter motor relay - part number help
Trying to track down the part number for the starter relay. So far I've got 2523089981 which I think is for the automatic and I believe the two are different. Does anyone know the part number for the manual one by any chance?

Z broken down - first time ever!
Brand new Nissan one came it at around 330 - - - Updated - - - The starter pinion started sticking out intermittently a few years ago and then stopped. It's time it was replaced anyway.

What did you do to your zed today?
Yup, as above, 740s are the ones to go for. A great way to futureproof your Z. They'll be going on mine soon along with a new engine harness.

Z broken down - first time ever!
I can still hear the relay click when the starter isn't working. Not sure whether the switch would do anything else also? I've gone ahead and ordered a brand new genuine starter motor and battery harness. Fingers crossed!

Barn find in France
Love that pearl yellow, it's a great colour, but it's such a gamble with those poor quality photos.

Club Annual Meet & AGM 2017 - Register of Interest
Yeah I'm gutted, I really wanted Coventry to be its first outing. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. It'll be a miracle if I do come in it, but I'll come down anyway in the other car.

Club Annual Meet & AGM 2017 - Register of Interest
Hmmmm. Doesn't look like I'll be going to this event, at least not in the Z. The windscreen still hasn't been fitted. There seems to be some sort of delay that National Windscreens can't seem to figure out. It was due for fitment this coming weekend, in fact it was due for fitment 2 weeks ago. It looks like it'll have to be done the following weekend. Then there's the order of an MoT that's now expired. I can't get that until the windscreen is in. So looks like I won't be going I'm afraid. :(

Off to ZCON next month!
So, today I met Toshio Yamashita aka Yama San who was the chief designer of the Z32, R34 and S15. What an absolute honour this was and what a nice guy. Very interesting presentation about the design of the Z32. I have also confirmed my attendance for next year's event which is hosted by Fairlady Alliance of Atlanta and Georgia Z Club it's also in conjunction with Znationals, so a double event. I'll be driving down from Columbus, Ohio with the ZCCA president. I have a ton of photos which I'll upload soon. I have here in my hand the centre arm rest underside from AndrewG's car which is now signed. :)

Is the 300zx in danger of becoming chavtastic ??
This is old old news. Z32s 10 years ago had far more stick on shite and fibreglass glued to them in a feeble attempt at making them look 'different'. To be honest there are far less poorly modified ones in the UK than there ever has been. US Z32s reached the bottom of their depreciation curve a good few years after they did in the UK which is why there are so many ricey Mexican shitboxes all over the interwebs. The US scene is what we had 10 years ago. Thankfully they stay away from the larger Z shows and tend to hang out with their sub culture cliques. ....having said that, there some horrors on 300ZX Nismo UK Facebook page - it is horrendous. So yeah, I agree in that sense Jeff! Terrible!

Driver's side under dash vent
They came standand on US model Z32s too. AndrewG has one, I've been on the lookout for one for a while now.

Off to ZCON next month!
Made it out to my friends' place in Dallas and we're about to head up to Courtesy Nissan to meet some other friends before the drive down to Austin. Weather is perfect and hotter than in England (only just though)! We're taking these 2 cars, both 91 model manual Twin Turbos. There'll be more photos later.

Arch Rolling Help
You do? Can't be by much. If I can get my arch tool back from Keith Newport which he's had since the winter, I'd do it.

Why don't you just get new track rod ends? they're not expensive and if your boots have gone, you may have already introducted crud into the joint.

Screw cap covers from glovebox
A really dull part request, but does anyone have any of these (pictured) laying about? They're NLS unfortunately. I'm after 4 or 5 ideally but what ever you've got. I would prefer them to be scuff-free.

Z broken down - first time ever!
.....and it's happened again. Fitted a new battery, last week and it has started a number of times to get in and out of the garage to work on it (nearly finished), however today, it failed to start after moving it out of the garage to work on and has remained in that state. I can hear the fuel pump and the starter relay prime when I turn the key to ignition and then to start. I left it all day in the hope that that whatever it did last time (intermittent starter), it might do it again, but no. A neighbour and I managed to jump start it so I could get it into the garage, it runs fine. I am assuming (not sure I should) that it's either the starter motor itself has completely died or it has an earthing fault, a common thing for starters not working. The car has been sat for long periods whilst it's been worked out. If anyone else has had a similar problem, please let me know.
