  1. *****cks. I miss-read. I thought it was fav photo of your Z not of 'any' Z. Will have a rummage... It's probably the full size version of this which I can't find anymore. It's the original Jim Wolf Z32 test car. :)
  2. I have 3 which I will never be able to decide on. ...and these two... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v434/simon_parsons/DSCN2144-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v434/simon_parsons/DSCN2155.jpg
  3. Thanks mate! I'm kinda up that way soon, well, Burnley actually. Probably a few hours from you?
  4. No, I didn't attempt that. I'd only kinda got to grips with a decent steering manouver. Apparently hovering is the hardest thing to do. Not sure what systems these things have if they have DGPS or anything.
  5. I can't remember the chap's name, I have his business card in the car. Will go and get it later White haired chap, guess in his 50s, nice bloke. It's not actually one of my accounts anyway, so can't see myself spending a huge amount of time in the future down there. When I say basics, I learned how to steer the thing, do a semi-affective landing and rotate using the foot controls. Excuse my basic terminology as I don't know a huge amount about them. Wanted to try a landing on an aircraft carrier, but time was running short. Bit of an aircraft day today actually as I was also down at Eaton Aerospace in Hampshire who build aircraft fuel pumps. Had a look at their test rigs today actually which was very interesting.
  6. Treat?? That's punishment isn't it? Steer clear of the imitation Scania Airbrake release noise...;) Nice one Brian! :duffer:
  7. CAE systems is one of my customers who look after a very high tech and expensive set of helicopter test simulator rigs at RAF Benson near Oxford. The rigs are operated through some very high tech computer systems and hydraulic motion control gear which my company support(through our fluid power division, ie, myself). Anyway, went along with a colleague today who has a good working relationship with one of the project engineers there who let me have a go in a Chinook Flight simulator. There are 6 of these there, 3 being Chinook and 3 being Puma. Absolutely incredible piece of kit. A complete copy of the cockpit with fully working controls, complete surround vision, full motion control and millions of different maps, presets and combat variations. These things are worth around £5million each or something crazy like that! These things are huge as well. 3 stories high! Not many civilians are ever allowed to look around these simulators let alone be allowed to fly them, so I was very privileged. Felt so real, the motion control was absolutely incredible, the whole thing was an amazing experience. I crashed landed on my first few landings, but managed to do a safe landing and learn basic helicopter control. It's really quite difficult as you have 2 hand controls which do different movements and landing is a bit like trying to pat your head whilst you rub your tummy!
  8. You're not related to this muppet are you by any chance? LOL http://news.scotsman.com/uk.cfm?id=2319592005
  9. What the hell is wrong with you? Why the friggin hell do you want to put up decorations now??????????? I can't be bothered with Christmas generally, but that is really taking the piss.
  10. Without doubt theeeee sexiest car ever designed.
  11. Just reiterating what you've said really. 99-spec headlights for US spec zeds? Would Nissan have even bothered producing these? I bet you'll find all 99-spec headlights are single part number only all for RHD 300zxs. Since Nissan stopped selling Z32s in the US in 96, would they have bothered to developed 99-spec style headlights for a car that was no longer in production? Just a concern that's all.
  12. Not my cuppa tea, but a lovely example.
  13. You're missing my point Mark. They look like they have a reason to be there because they have a door pillar fixing. NSX lives without door pillars and so do a lot/all of cars with T-Tops. Think I'll just leave them then, can't be bothered to weld things to it. Might just bite the bullet and get some new belts.
  14. I think it's because it's a Nissan colour that Zs never came in. I do like them, but have a real thing for silver Zs too. If I had to start from scratch again, I'd do one of 3 OEM colours, silver, superwhite pearl (99-spec colour) or bayside blue. One of my favourite non-Nissan colours at the moment is the pearl white the new Lexus IS models are available in. Really strong pearl in it and I've never seen a car glow in the sunlight like it. Very popular colour in the US and as much as the car the paint is on is pretty bland, I couldn't keep my eyes off the pearl white ones. Would love my Z done in that one.
  15. Trimming my interior over the winter, but one question, do I retain the door pillar belts, or convert to B pillar belts? I want to unplug them too and get rid of the silly electronic slack thing as it messes up the recoil sometimes. Thing is, I kind like the door pillar belts as they look funky. It's why there's a pillar there, or rather gives a designed reason to have them there. BUT, I also want seatbelts to feel like new rather than aged belts which have all the slackness of an old woman's fanjita. Can't decide what to do really. I know replacement new belts will cost a bomb, especially for the door belts I'd imagine. I kinda like the lap belts in the rear, so may well keep those. I never have any passengers in the back of the car anyway.
  16. Overdone? LOL, seen maybe 1 in the flesh in my entire life.
  17. If I could start again, mine would be Bayside blue I think with UK spec glass. I can't be bothered to have mine repainted again. lol
  18. It's a little bit too ginger for me. I'd go for a colour that's not going to age. An electric blue or something. BMW Estoril blue is very very nice.
  19. Love it! Have a thing for US Pickups, the smaller ones like the S10, Camino, Cyclone/Typhoon. I'd have to redo that interior. Red interior is gross. Full cream leather retrim, black carpet and flocked cream leather dash.
  20. Have a look on youtube mate.
  21. Christ, I thought that was me for a minute as I drive a white Z with my reg as A2PDX. lol
  22. Ramp time? That the time it takes for the turbos to spool?
  23. Bloody close, he'd improved on the second sector, but not enough! Close though, happy that Alonso is back in 4th! :)
  24. Shame the front end isn't a little bit lower, but the back is very low for Eibachs. Looks good! Lovely looking car overall. :duffer:
