  1. I'm ok about doing presentations. I've given quite a few. It was always the thing I was good at at uni. (But still brick it whenever I do them and always will especially something as important as this!!) I'll be doing a powerpoint presentation with bullet points on the screen for me to expand on. Nothing fancy because it's me they are assessing not my IT skills. I'll have a professional look and be slick in appearance.
  2. Original lights look best, or black chromed inserts. Looks far more menacing IMHO.
  3. My garlic crusher is pretty good and does turn the garlic into a paste. I'll try very lightly frying it on a low heat then next time.
  4. I make sure the onions go soft. Can't stand crunchy onions. As well as good taste, good texture is also key for me. This is why I finely dice the onions. Large chunky onions make me hurl. Not because of the taste, but because of the texture. Probably why I detest mushrooms so much.
  5. Dude, just get another shell! You can find good shells for next to nothing.
  6. You brown the garlic in oil after you've crushed it or do you cook it and then crush it? I've always crushed it and disolved it into the sauce I'm cooking. I do sometimes thrown in finely diced chunks.
  7. You brown the meat in order not to overdo it and lock in the juices which you don't do if you continuously fry the meat. Once you've browned off the meat you then cook it to lock in the flavours. Never brown the garlic. Crush it and stir it into the sauce and cook it so it brakes down nicely.
  8. I usually agree, but I've found that Waitrose offers butcher quality beef. It's not cheap, but bloody amazing.
  9. I do have little sample bottles of red wine yes and if there's one to hand, I'll pour in a glug. Always do it with my bolognaise sauce.
  10. Ditto!! I think the ONLY ready meal I've ever sat down and enjoyed was a huge Tescos extra value beef cannelloni. They are absolutely amazing! Everything else in the world of 'electric food' sucks BIG TIME.
  11. Exactly and, especially with beef, it always tastes better after it's had time to marinade in its own sauce. Always happens with chilli. I know you've ridiculed me for shopping at Waitrose, but they do amazing quality meat. I'm quite happy to pay out of the nose for top quality super lean beef mince Aberdeen Angus. I'll lightly fry it in olive oil along with a finely diced onion, add 2 tins of chopped tomatoes, beef oxo, table spoon of mixed spice, 4 cloves of garlic, table spoon of chili powder, tomato puree, salt, pepper, 2 chopped green peppers, teaspoon of crushed dried chillis, green jalapeno peppers and red kidney beans. Served with rice, sour cream and tortillas! Usually lasts me a few days. Always tastes better the following day too!
  12. I think I've used the microwave about 4 times this year and that's to re-heat things I've already made. Can't even remember the last time I had a take-out. Probably last year. I've never owned a deep fat fryer and never will! LOL
  13. Never and never will, although the thought crosses my mind sometimes!
  14. Depends. I usually cook from scratch, rarely bother with sauces unless they're either Lloyd Grossman Green thai curries that I add things to anyway or the Fajita ones. I'll cook casseroles, chilli, pasta dishes, curries etc, I'll steam fish and veg, all sorts of things. I'll sometimes make things in large batches and put them in the fridge.
  15. I cook all the time. Unless I go to my parents for lunch, but they live an hour away! LOL My girlfriend cooks when she comes round.
  16. Dove grey is quite light actually. It's what I've gone for. Charcoal bolsters and dover grey centres. Charcoal is so much nicer than black leather.
  17. Well there is. Only really for diesel though. Red diesel (diesel dyed red for ident reasons) this is for use of registered agricultural or construction vehicles such as tractors, excavators, cranes and some other non-road applications. Red diesel carries a significantly reduced tax levy than un-dyed diesel fuel used in ordinary road vehicles. As red diesel is widely available in the UK, the authorities regularly carry out roadside checks to detect unauthorised use and penalties are harsh!
  18. Keep the colours neutral and to a minimum. It's always they way I do things. I think that it looks far more pleasing to the eye. Sure, things like red and blue are eye-catching, but that's for the wrong reason. Seen many interiors in a multitude of colours of varying degrees looking somewhat vile. I think with a silver car, you need to keep everything neutral to keep that clean slick look following through into the interior. With yours, I'd go for light grey alcantara panelling and seat centres with charcoal bolsters and light grey stitching. Steer clear also from things like seat belt harness pads, chequer plate mats, pods/gauges everywhere. Keep things slick and to the point.
  19. That's pretty good! Was nice to meet Jeff too! Got some spares for £0.00 which was an added bonus. There was a GB going for Racelogic TC I think. Maybe you've already checked that anyway.
  20. I just found out that so far, I am the only person selected from another 4 that have actually managed to get through to the second interview!
  21. Thanks Tony. Yup, you've hit the nail on the head. It's the angle I always try and approach it with. That strategy worked the first time round! By the way, was nice to meet you a few weeks ago. Lovely Z you have there! :duffer:
  22. Diesel, which is the most expensive at the moment is 110.0p at Asda up in Cribbs.
