No, on KPH cars, it's just KPH, people just stick an MPH sticker over the KPH lettering in the middle and then convert the clocks to read MPH.

Sounds like it has a different engine in it or is was registered incorrectly.

Tidy zed on Ebay!!
Looks good. Although wheels are pretty miserable and so are the tatty/chrome windscreen trims.

Just a reminder about the Dyno day this Sat !!!!!!
Looking forward to seeing everyone. :)

White Smoke - bad
Personally wouldn't get used turbos. Such an unknown. Murt thought his turbos were good before he changed the exhaust. The same thing could happen again quite easily if he put some supposed good turbos on, with the pressure drop of this new exhaust, there's a high percentage it'll happen again.

Cruise control questions.
Quite a few didn't. Seemingly a rare option on airbag models. Neither GrahamS or Steve-300zx have CC on theirs.

My exterior
For a while? You said October! LOL ;)

My exterior
...why did you go to the trouble of covering the car in that amount of graphics if you're going to paint it soon? LOL

My exterior
Not my thing I'm afraid, but it looks quite clean and tidy. Needs to be lowered desperately though.

The back pressure the original exhaust had masked the problem of weeping seals though. Refitting the exhaust will mask it again. Just a temp measure if Murt doesn't want to drive round with a smoke screen behind him.

White Smoke - bad
Putting in a used engine is always a bit of an unknown quantity. I made the silly mistake of buying a second hand engine. Never fitted it. Used it as a benchmark to rebuild to a good stock standard. Contemplating building a high performance engine now with uprated internals, turbos, injectors, intercoolers etc.

His compression isn't too bad though.

Then why change the engine?

Engine swap? Unless you have the cash to rebuild an engine, I'd keep the current engine. Just try refitting the old exhaust. Should go away. The back pressure in the old system was stopping the old seals from weeping.

Who'd be interested in a Surrey Rolling Road dyno day?
Jimmer should be able to do that. But with Topless there too, I am sure you'll get full tuition! LOL

Jimmer had some spare exhaust stuff knocking about. Not sure if he's still got it though.

Have you thought about refitting the old exhaust for the time being? You've obviously changed the back pressure which is why the seals are weeping. Refitting the original exhaust will/should change the back pressure to stock and therefore should stop the seals weeping. The turbos will need replacing/reconditioning at some point, what you've done is uncovered a problem that was always there. Refitting the exhaust should stop it being noticable.

Sounds to me like rear turbo seals then. :( But get Paul to check it.
-
White Smoke - bad
Sounds like it could be rear seal failure on the turbo, it's fine when it's cold on idle but soon as the engine reaches temp it smokes. Does it smell like burning oil? The smoke is a very light blue colour and not dark like burnt oil.

What is happening to our club ?
All the big national events are always in the same area of the UK though. Sure we have Japfest, but that's more or less a regional event.

Mig Tip boost jets VS daws device
Old wives tale. Turbos will last as long as the person that looks after them. There are guys in the US that are ovrt 140k on original turbos. Plenty of UK cars with 100k with original tubs.

Mig Tip boost jets VS daws device
Sure. Compression and turbo condition will dictate the end results.

Cruise control questions.
Few CC questions. Do early Z32s come with the same CC ECUs than the really late ones with the airbags? Also, does anyone know if the wires are the same from the column on both types? Thanks

Mig Tip boost jets VS daws device
1.2mm will give you between 12 and 14 PSi and 1mm around 15/16 from memory.

Mig Tip boost jets VS daws device
Wouldn't advise decatting unless you have new turbos, especially running higher boost.
