  1. After an old-skool look boost controller (something small and that looks 'period Z32'). Has anyone got one of these? I'm talking about the old ones. I've looked at the Greddy Profec A and have read reviews on it and the fact that it can be a pig to set up. I also quite like the look of the old Blitz SBC. If anyone's had experience with either of these, I'd be grateful. Thanks. :)
  2. Now I'd rather not get a second-hand boost controller. But since Greddy don't exist anymore, let alone make the old Profec A or Blitz make their SBC R or whatever it's called, I'd look at getting a used one. The Profec-A really does meet my criteria, it's the right size, has the right look for the age of the car. Just a shame you can't buy them new anymore. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JDM-Trust-Greddy-Profec-A-boost-controller-evc-200sx_W0QQitemZ180282099604QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item180282099604&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177
  3. No, I want it to be accessable. I have a similar dilema with the cruise control. I have a great idea though. Since mine is a series 1 with an aftermarket wheel, I loose the CC facility. I have CC, but it's disabled. I already looked into retro-fitting the CC paddle from an SRS equipped Z32. BUT unfortunately, I'd have to fit another column as the shroud as a different size! My idea is to make a slight cutout in the very top of the trim panel that sits under the drivers side part of the dash. The same size as the CC button clustor. I'd then be able to flush mount fit it and run the cables up to the column. Now, I'd cut out a kind of semi-circle, so that the top of the button clustor basically sat flush directly under the dash binnicle. Kinda hard to explain. But when I can figure out the wiring as some of it's been removed, I'll be able to show you.
  4. I'll fit it up your arse! Sideways!
  5. Interesting. I felt sure I'd see some NAs with blanks over those little screens. I guess I was mistaken.
  6. What I would really like is an old Greddy Profec 'A' boost controller. Kinda looks so non-descript, it'll sit quite happily in that area of the dash practically un-noticed. The 'B' looks a little too modern with its blue screen and silver dials. I want it to blend into the dash. Before anyone says 'mount it where the clock is'. NO, I like the clock and use it to tell the time without having to switch on the stereo to see what time it is! LOL
  7. Spanks Gaz. Can't quite see from there, but do the check controls have blanks over them?
  8. ....it could fit under I guess.....this is a USDM car which is why the check controls are round the other way.
  9. The only thing with the NA is that I 'think' they have blanking plates over the redundant check control. Can someone with an NA post up a photo of their dash binnacle? Might be a case of getting an NA one, getting the blanking plate glued to the binnacle, then cutting the hole required, then having any outlines/cutouts smoothed and painted in the plastic paint.
  10. It looks best in direct sunlight! Some old photos with horrid offset!
  11. Yes, because I think the check control sits A: too high to be able to successfully mount a boost controller there and B: is deeper than the profile of the boost controller. The Boost controller is thinner than the outline of the check control.
  12. You're not 350bhp though are you?
  13. It should do, but when I fit it, I don't want it to look like it was fitted over the top of something that 'was' there. What I want to do is to take the back off the boost controller so you're just left with the front. Cut a hole slightly smaller than the profile of the unit and slide it in so it all looks flush. I hate having clutter the on the dash area. Nothing worse than pods, lights, tachos, boost controllers, turbo timers, gauges all stacked up on top of one another. Just looks a mess!
  14. Useless for me then! All TTs came with the dual check control. What I might do is get one from an NA. I know there are blanks over both of them, but considering mounting a Blitz DSBC flush with that on that side?
  15. I've never had an auto, although I've driven one, but is the little check control on the right hand side of the steering column for AT models? The left hand side is fine, CC and HICAS plus others etc. I've never seen anything light up there, or at least I don't think I have!?
  16. I don't care what it looks like and that's not the issue!!!!!! It feels horrid to the touch, just like when you run your finger nails down a black board!
  17. HIDs are ace! Time for some LED side lights now Bri!
  18. I had mine in inside last year representing 3ZC as a promotional shot. :)
  19. Had a good day with the Z today! First, it passed its MOT, then I replaced the connector for the TPS, fitted a new TPS and set it up! Running a nice 0.44v now, the old one was reading 5.5v and failed to respond to adjustment!!! Also, a new connector for the coolant temperature sensor. A healthy zero codes on the ECU. An oil change too. I also had time today to machine polish one side and bonnet. Then polished with Meguiars DCP before topping up with Collinte 476 wax which leaves the paint looking so nice and wet! It’s hard to get the glassy effect on pearlwhite / superwhite, but I’ve managed to get it a deeper glossier finish now. The reason I wanted to machine polish it again is that when I had my car repainted a few years ago, I had the paintwork detailed. It was too new to lay wax on, so it was polished only. Unfortunately, I forgot to add wax to it after a period of time and it lost a bit of its lustre. Got it back now and it’s protected. Apparently the 476 lasts about 6 months before needing a top up and that’s with cars being left out in the rain. So I shouldn’t need to top up with wax until next summer. :) Just the other side to do now. :( It got dark and damp so I'll do it tomorrow. New wider tyres next week too, so it should look a little 'fatter' :) Shame the summer is nearly over! Oh well, I'll hardly have anything to do next year.
  20. Thanks guys. Easy job to do? Is it a bit of an unknown quantity getting a used one?
  21. Bird's is a 93 UK, so it'll be a series 2?
  22. No, only the rear 1/4s or rear door windows. The front side windows have to let a certain percentage of light through and most cars with factory tint are at the legal max meaning that if you add tint to that, you're making them illegal.
  23. I am getting my rear screen lightly tinted, but just having the rear 1/4 windows just doesn't look right. It's either all side windows or not at all. It's a shame the UK law doesn't permit a mild tint on the sides as Zs look pretty good with it done. This is my friend Trent's Z with mild tints. Looks quite dark here, but they are a mild tint.
  24. Looks pretty good. Make sure you put your UK wheels on it, or have you bought another set? Get that tint of the rear 1/4 windows too! If you have the time, I'd also swap out the windows themselves. The UK Z32s have a nice blue tint to them over bronze tint of most JDM models. You swapping over the UK bumpers and stuff?
