Looks more similar to the roofline of a Metro than a Z. ;) As for the a/m spoilers, some are hit/miss with the Z. It has such a smooth sleek shape, that aggressive spoilers just don't really match it, like they do with something like a Skyline. Same with a lot of bodykits IMHO.

I'll play the devil's advocate here. If you could consider the ratio of petrol/diesel cars in the police force maybe about 50% and with a lot of the high power diesels being as smooth/fast as their petrol counterparts, then it’s not that suprising. I am sure there are a few on here who've accidentally pushed in a diesel nosel into their Z by mistake. It's easy enough to do if you're in a hurry. I don't really think it's a case of training. Reminding, yes.

Are you complaining? If it was your car that had been stolen, I am sure you'd want the police to be doing everything they can to try and find it and if that means pulling every UK Z32 over they see and checking it, then that's a good thing surely. You're all legal, so not sure what the problem is? People always seem to moan when the police aren't seen to be doing enough, and when they do, people moan about that also. Fail/Fail situation. :)

The only real reason the auto is quicker off the mark is the fact that it can engage gear quicker than you can press the accelerator pedal and release the clutch. I am sure a good driver can get a manual to launch just as well as an auto. Autos don't sound anywhere near as good. You don't get the rev-down burble with an auto, sounds a little, pensionerish when changing gears and, with a stock box, you have no engine braking. They are still great to drive, but it would be a manual for me all the way.

JDM models 'should' be listed as 'fairlady'. It's the name all insurers use when distinguishing between a UK and JDM car. ANPR systems are linked to insurance databases, so I'd imagine that it wasn't a JDM car. I think your friendly officer maybe looking for a UK car. I wonder if JOHNWAYNE300's car is ok? He's the only other person I know in the Bristol area with a blue one?

Later STis were 300bhp iirc Dave. They'll dash to 60 in under 5 seconds from what I recall.

Must say, I'm not that keen on the Supra styling. It's the lorry-like dashboard which I really dislike the look of. There are some nice Supras about, but you need to do more than just lower it and fit some bigger wheels to make them look sexy because they just look like jellybeans otherwise. I prefer (and really like) the MK2 Supra. :cool:

Way too generalising. Only the old Gen1 2.0 Turbos are easy-ish to beat stock/stock. 2nd and 3rd Gen STis and WRXs will be waving bye byes to. The Z isn't the quickest thing on the road Murt!!
