thinking of making my own hicas eliminator, any tips or ideas?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-300ZX-Z32-REAR-STEERING-ARM_W0QQitemZ380179081139QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item58847067b3 Personally, I'd not mess about with stuff like that unless you're a precision engineer or know someone who is. You'll have no way of adjusting the tracking if you get your piece slightly out of spec. It's not exactly expensive. Hicas lockout bar is about 70 - 80 and a set of arms is about 60. That's less than a year's tax.

Wheel offset question
No they aren't! You fronts aren't +44! I guess you're referring to the +30....and offset means dick without a width. ;)

New brake discs needed?
Bloody hell! Thought you'd gone, never to return! Glad you're still about these parts! As for the disks, fronts look ok. Sure, they have a lip (of which a percentage of that is corrosion anyway), but the actual contact surface is free from grooves and scoring. Rears certainly DO NOT need replacing.

Wheel offset question
Well the fronts will look poor and those tyres won't look too cleve. 225 on an 8.5" wheel is a really stretched look (ideal if you're going for a really whacky offset with the car dropped on its ass). Rears a little better, but you want to be running 275 at the back ideally with a 245 at the front. Your front offset isn't ideal. Wheel will sit waayyyy too far inside the arch. But a set of 25mm spacers will kick them out to give you a +19 effective which will give a nice flush appearance. Rears are about ok. Ideal is +35 on a 9.5" wheel, you may have to roll the top of the arch ever so slightly. But nothing extreme. You might actually be better off with 265s in that case. But certainly the fronts, 225 is too narrow (tyrewise).

Land rover discovery
Have no idea what they are like for reliability generally. Friend of mine had one however and his is now rocking on 200,000 miles (had it since 50K) and I think the only think he's had to have replaced were a few wheel bearings and reconditioned transfer box. Not bad for the mileage.

Wheel widths??

Land rover discovery
They are very agricultural to drive, but since you're going from a Fiat Van, it may feel luxurious to drive. Driven a number of them, pretty capable off road, but not the nicest car to drive. Better off with a Freelander van if your budget can stretch to that. Slightly better to drive.

license plate for 99 spec bumper.
It can be trimmed (by them and to an excellent standard, my rear plate is cut to size). But you have a long number plate (7 digit). Hmmmmmm, they'll end up making the font smaller and it will look too small. Having only 3cm of overlap either side though isn't going to be that noticeable especially on a black car. Certainly better than the great big wide standard UK plate and infinitely better than an ugly square plate stuck on the front.

Cornwall Christmas Meet/dinner.
Damn, just seen the date! Might be in Germany that weekend. Was going to ride down with Murtle. Will see how things pan out. We had planned on bringing a presant for Mikey Bean too if he goes. A Fisher Price tool set. Will let you know toward the end of the week guys. :)

Will blow up like one by the sounds of it....

**NWS**nova catches scooby in rally, hilarious!!
LOL at the Irish expletives! Highly believable. Friend of mine has a highly modified (but stock looking) Nova GSi 1600 16v turbo which happily sees off my Z and leaves most things behind on the twisties. Fit some coil overs to one and a 1300 becomes a bit of a weapon! You just don't DON'T need to slow down for corners! LOL They are extremely capable little cars with good suspension mods. Street legal go-karts if you will.

Call em if you like. LOL. Car is off the road for the winter anyway! To drive to the motorway near my house I have to drive past a VSOA checkpoint which also doubles up as a DVLA tax check too. I have driven past it 100's of times. No problemo. But I guess cause my car doesn't really stick out as being an OTT/Racey/modified kev mobile, it doesn't get frowned on. It's not overly small/cut down either, so blends in quite well. I've seen 1/2 sized plates on cars and they are really noticeably smaller.- license plate for 99 spec bumper.
Yup, he didn't say anything about it being legal though and is the only way you'll fit a plate to the little moulding neatly. Besides, I've never been pulled for the plate despite being followed, sat next to police, driven past plenty of police/VSOA check points etc. Never seems to bother them and I've had it on there nearly 5 years.- license plate for 99 spec bumper.
3/4 sized plates from http://www.fancyplates.com when ordering, make sure you go for plain/borderless. Graphics, slogans, gay fonts etc all look dreadful. Obviously not a 99 front end, but you get the idea (plate size)- Anyone built an Ultima GTR?
Probably the ugliest super car evAr! (apart from the hideous looking Gumpert) Looks like it's been punched in the face...- tiny tiny paint blisters?
Blisters? Sounds like you have moisture trapped under the paint and they baked the car to hide it.- Happy Birthday TopLess
....at the Surrey rolling road day on the 23rd of May!? :wack: - Hi a Z virgin
The Z32 is very reliable providing they are well maintained.- Best colour pearl white
Yeah they are pretty white. Nice and crisp. Not sure what you mean by the 'tint'. From what I understand, that was a stock Toyota colour....so should still be available?? - license plate for 99 spec bumper.
