  1. Now I've always thought the Z32 was an attention grabber, but today really did prove that. I don't normally take my car to shows as there are never any around in the 'reasonably local area' and there are never any I like (car guy type car shows)...ie, for me, 'Donny' and 'Modified Madness' are my ideas of hell! But we're lucky that in Bristol, there's a monthly meet called the Avenue Drivers' Club that meets at Queen's Square in Bristol, only 5 miles from my house which is in Portishead. What's awesome about this monthly gathering is that it caters for the true car guy, so no riced out heaps with nasty bodykits and tacky modifications, this was full of Ferrari 348s, 355s, Lotus Esprits, classics (E-types, MGs etc), American muscle, hotrots and other excotica. IE, my type of car show. It's a very similar format to 'Cars and Coffee' or 'Supercar Sunday' events that I go to in the USA. Everyone arrives around 9am, parks up, grabs tea and coffee from the little coffee shops down the side streets and just mingle with other car enthusiast. HEAVEN! Well, I thought it high time I take my Z down there. Now I know Yewcheck sometimes goes to this show, but he wasn't there...which was good as mine was the ONLY Z32 there. 911s outnumbered it 10-1!, even Esprits by 3-1! When I take my Z to the continent, it gets a stupid amount of attention and I feel like a porn star riding round in it, it gets attention in the UK, but this meet was awesome. I counted about 30 people take photos of it, lots of looks, poking heads inside to see what it was like. Heard a LOT of nice comments and was asked all sorts of questions about it. It got more attention that my friend's 19,000 mile Lotus Esprit. This is a selection of the sort of vehicles that turn up. http://www.flickr.com/photos/theavenuedriversclub/ Here's today....only 2 pics I'm afraid (and they're both crap), but I'll be going again. Such a feel-good factor after owning a car for nearly a decade and all the care that's gone into its ownership to get noticed so much. It was flattering and very rewarding. One I took last night.....
  2. Well for starters, Z31 seat belts were completely different to Z32 seatbelts.....also, you have series 1 Z32 seatbelts and anything after, which again are completely different. I'd give that a WIDE berth. Red as well....eeeek. Reminds me of those special edition Rover Metros with the red or green seat belts.
  3. I got mine from Apha Batteries - http://www.alpha-batteries.co.uk Their code for the CORRECT battery for the Z32 is U030 and if you have the original battery box, it fits PERFECTLY. Moreover, it's black, so it doesn't look like some sort of eyesore. I bought mine in March 2011 and it's still going strong, depsite running flat over the winter due to lack of use. It's now charged again and holds it perfectly. A great battery considering my 'temporary use' of my Z. It cost me £49.99 and that's delivered! Price may have increased a little, but you won't find any cheaper. I wouldn't hesitate in buying one again as it comes with a 4 year warranty too!
  4. Pretty sure I bought those upgrade plugs from you mate. They're still in there and the car is running like a dream with increased boost.
  5. Oh yeah. I have a few friends who've chopped their legs off, will see what they think. Might a goer...lol
  6. How can factory fit seat belts be 'exciting'....moreover, who the hell even sits in the back of a Z? My girlfriends have all be small size 8/10 types and they've never been able to squeeze into the back! Stupid seats, good for babies, pigmy goats and Tarsier monkeys....ONLY
  7. ....they recondition what you have. The Z32 seat belts are quite specific and universal / aftermarket belts are unlikely to fit.

  9. ...and a shame it is that they don't do anything for their owners' clubs like they do across the pond.
  10. Alfie must be John. This evening's octane fueled blast along the coast has obviously gotten to my head!
  11. You mean Alfie? LOL Looks like you've got the wrong tyre profile on your wheels John?
  12. Worst film in the world is the original Deathrace 2000. Its only saving grace is some gratuitous nudity.
  13. Could be a buggered TPS. I ended up replacing mine because of low-idle. Couldn't adjust it enough to sort that out, so fitted a replacement and it cured the problem.
  14. Narrr. Despite them looking like armchairs with wheels, they're kinda cool as they're different without being junk.
  15. Oh, yeah, that's heading north and their fuel prices are going up at a faster rate than ours. That's on par with California prices. Cheaper in the Midwest. I filled up the Z32 I use for about $50 (£35) 3 years ago, I filled up that same car for about $35....£25!
  16. Smart cars are ok. I wouldn't drive one, but they're better than something like a Renault Clio or any Hyundai/Kia thing (despite their new stuff being half decent).
  17. Oh how I miss those days! I remember being able to fill mine for a little over £50.
  18. .....also, exercise helps MASSIVELY! :)
  19. This! Go to the CAB and ask for advice as I think you have a legal right to claim unless they're terminating your employment. With the difference, I'd go and buy a POS from the auctions. Sir Charles managed to get his hands on a BMW 320TDS for £200....I am sure you can find something for under £500 (not ideal I know). I've always had 2 cars, I could never use the Z as a daily. It also makes you appreciate it more. But you're cycling anyway, so it's a big knock for you.
  20. I suffer insomnia. Not so bad anymore. You do need to try and understand the underlying cause of it though and that means going to visit a sleep clinic. For a temporary reprieve, get your doctor to prescribe you Zopiclone. They're very strong and will knock you out about 15 minutes after taking them. They should not be a long-term cure however, but if you're struggling to operate, then these are amazing. They are addictive though and your body does build up a tolerance to their effects. I took this product when I had sleep issues (I still do, but they're nowhere near as bad). I now only take them on 6+ hours flights as I can't sleep on planes AT ALL and long haul bores the shit out of me (there's only so much TV and sitting in an awkward position that one can cope with). So I usually pop 1 or two an hour after take off and they'll keep me asleep for 6-7 hours which is good enough for me as I'll have crossed the Atlantic and half of America or most of Africa depending on whether I'm going to the US or South Africa....so they're damn good!
  21. I'm with Bird. The vast majority of missfires are down to dirty connectors, usually injector, coilpack, PTU or maf connectors. Give them a THOROUGH clean. It'll unlikely be injector failure as is seen in the US as we don't have the ethanol based fuels that screw up pintle-type injectors, not to say they don't go wrong over here, but it's rare for one to just stop working. Spend time cleaning up these connectors before you go any further. It won't be a thankless exercise either even if it's not that.
  22. Interedting. Reckon I might be able to get from St.Malo to Bordeux on a tank, then another half to Toulouse. Returning will be longer if I am to go back via the Milliau Bridge and through the Massif Centrale and onward to LeMans. Journey planning now and it's damn good fun!
