  1. You know what, I am glad they didn't use the Z32 (the original story that F&F was based on was actually written about the Z32), imagine how many more of these we would have seen on the roads....
  2. Never had anyone moan about the noise my Z makes. It's not obnoxiously loud, it has a deep refined burble. I'd imagine the types that these people are moaning about are things like Corsas who burn around the streets late at nights with hideously loud bean-can exhausts. I live in an EXTREMELY quiet neighbourhood, so I can't really comment on that (the noisiest it ever gets here is when it's foggy and you can hear the ships' fog horns), but my GF was in a house share whilst she was at university in Clifton and it was quite noisy and you could certainly tell those who had awful droaning screaming exhausts at silly hours. I can't for one minute think people have high performance exotic/sports cars in mind when they made those comments - the whole thing is OTT, but they're likely referring to awful sounds like this.....I agree, they're feckin' awful! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVNV7w9OGWU
  3. The 2JE is a stronger engine and tuning is easier, but the VG30 is a very robust engine if looked after and tuned correctly. The 2JE is less complex, so there are less variables. The RX-7's ****el unit whilst interesting and tuneable isn't known for its reliability. The 3000GT is on par with Z32 on an unbiased view. Out of all, the Supra is the better built car, but that doesn't make it paramount for me. :)
  4. I still think the Z32 is the best of the lot. I quite like the Supra, but it looks like a big jellybean and has a hideous dashboard. I prefer its previous iteration as a visual piece. Mechanically, it's a great car, but I've never favoured the sound of an I-6 over the offset burble of the V6. I do like all 4 though, but some more than others and it was the reason I bought the Z32 in the first place. I have always loved its appearance, the noise it makes and its exclusivity. :) Nice write-up and thanks for sharing.
  5. So are you telling me that they add performance and responsiveness? I know more than you it would seem! The ONLY 'blow off valve' worth having is one's own anus! :wack:
  6. Shouldn't really mist up inside unless you have a leak or standing water inside, even with a change in humidity.
  7. Probably the main seal. Gearbox, clutch assembly and flywheel will need to come off for that.
  8. A complete and utter waste of money anyway! :wack: :D
  9. Watched a bit of Father Ted last night...!
  10. Same product description to a whoopie cushion! :wack:
  11. That's a bunch of pixies they pay to make that silly noise! :wack:
  12. Understatement of the millennia!!!
  13. No, they sound like the air brakes on an old Scania truck....
  14. Personally, I wouldn't waste your time with them. They're useless and pointless and do absolutely NOTHING for performance.
  15. Interesting! Looking like nice work there!
  16. Likely a JDM car with UK rear bumper. Mainland Europe got the Z32 until late 95 and thus had some series 4 cars, but they're extremely rare. UK got the Z32 up until 94.
  17. I have a soft spot for those. They are a really nice drive. I've driven a few of them in the US (Infiniti G35). I actually prefer them to the 350Z.
  18. Highly unlikely, if not impossible that it was an N reg and UK.
  19. No bad back here. I think the seats changed in '13 when the facelift one was launched. Certainly I found them comfortable enough.
  20. Leon's doors are quite big, but it has concealed rear handles, so it has an almost coupe/3door look to it. It's pretty practical, boot isn't especially big, but the cabin is quite spacious. I do highly recommend it as a fun DD.
  21. The diesels have more torque! It depends how many miles you're doing. The Leon FR is available with a 200hp 2.0 Turbo engine and that's available with DSG (I think). The Leon Cupra has about 260bhp, but I can't recall those being available with a DSG. They handle better than Golfs and A3s except the S3 and are a LOT cheaper, they use the same chassis, engines and gearboxes with a firmer setup and to be honest, I think they have a bit more flair, however the A3 is a great looking car.
  22. Hey Mandy! Well, I have driven a new shape Ibiza and wasn't all that impressed. There's something about superminis that makes most of them feel rather flimsy. It's not a bad car, but depending on your budget, I can't sing the praises of the Leon FR highly enough. A well sorted chassis, very good fun to drive, well built. The model I'd go for is the one I currently have which is the FR170 Turbo Diesel. Fantastic torque, it pulls very well. They are available with a super slick 7-speed DSG gearbox. Go for the very last of the MK2s rather than an earlier one as they have newer quieter engines...and the tweaks to the body make it better looking than the early models, also try and find one with the optional 18" wheels like mine, they look a million times better than the stock 17s. This is a great example! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2011-61-Seat-Leon-2-0-TDI-CR-170-FR-DSG-AUTO-5dr-/271695314957?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3f424d800d I'd have another, but just want something bigger and more of a cruiser.
  23. No! I need a daily driver! I have a twin turbo V6 already (the Z)! I've put a deposit down on a VX-Line though, so it looks sporty at least.
  24. Not feeling the Z, would prefer to feel that delightful pair of buttocks though!
