Top end refresh.
Thanks Dave! Picked up some more stuff today, there's a whole bag of it. I can actually start to reassemble some of the throttle components. The housings and central joiner are still at the vapour blasters awaiting collection, I need to work out which way round all the springs and washers go! Most of it is cadmium plated, springs were stripped and silver plated.

Brexit Poll
The issue being, whatever part of the line you're now sitting, what was offered at the referendum is very different to what the potential likely outcome will be. As part of a democratic society, irrespective of which standpoint you're on, a poll for a number of options which are NOW available is very much a democratic thing to do. What was sold on both sides of the table two years ago was a crock. Again, the British public were not informed enough to have been given the vote on something so utterly technical. We put out faith in elected politicians do that......and hell, they can't even do it.

What did you do to your zed today?
Richard, just get new ones whilst you still can!!! They're not expensive and they're not going to be around for much longer. LHD have already gone NLA.

OEM Fuel dampener - Upgrade with AN fittings?
Howard, speak to Nick, I know he's running AN fittings, he might have an idea regarding the fuel dampener.

Throttle bodies now bored out from 50mm to 54mm. Flow test results on similarly enlarged bodies show a 33% increase in air flow. Just need to be reassembled now. These will then be vapour blasted, sealed with ACF50 and then the remainder of the assemblies rebuilt once I have everything back from the platers.

Throttle housings now stripped and at a machine shop to be enlarged for bigger butterflies. Got round to stripping this centre support joiner too. The spindle taps out with all the springs, bushings and cable levers. The tin work will be going for replating. This is a spare UK set which already come cadmium plated, I cleaned this up, but there is still tarnishing and surface corrosion which would still visible if fitted to the car, so I need to get this replated to match the other bits. The alloy parts will be vapour blasted and then sealed with ACF50 just like the manifold was. The throttle housings will also be done and all the replated tin pressings for those will be fitted.

Throttle body modification - enlarged butterfly
But yes, eventually. :)

Throttle body modification - enlarged butterfly
That's not answering my question. The intake is much smaller than even the stock pipework, so it will make an increase. If you put 2.5" piping on, you're still reducing when you go into the throttle chamber.

Throttle body modification - enlarged butterfly
I believe Z1 took theirs up to 58mm?
-
Throttle body modification - enlarged butterfly
Since I have a spare manifold and throttle bodies which I'm cleaned up and refurbishing, I've decided to get the stock throttle body intake ports enlarged with larger butterflies similar to the modification that Rob Bastian (RobZ) was doing for people a while back. I'm not sure if anyone is familiar with this modification, I believe 54mm is the largest you can go to in stock throttle bodies (originally 50mm). Can anyone confirm whether this is the max or can they go any larger?

Recently joined the Z family :)
I'd personally leave the side skirts off if especially if you're going to be driving it in all weathers. Z32s are old and don't have the best rust-proofing, especially on later cars like yours and whilst you have under the underside of you Z treated, skirts, or crud-catchers as I call them will retain moisture and won't help the longevity of your Z. There are much nicer skirts out there than the Demon skirts IMO without the fieldmouse vent in them if you have your heart set on a set of skirts. The amount of Z32s I've seen that have had skirts fitted to them with rusted out sills is on the 'biblical' scale.

Welcome to the club. :) Pretty sure that's an old forum member's car, I do recall seeing this. Any plans for it? 99-spec rear light upgrade perhaps?

Replacement rear arches
Hope you get all sorted. Make sure that when you get the arches replaced that you extensively work on those areas from the inside with cavity wax.

Didn't you have your car painted a few years ago?

Too complex for its own good??????
Yup and we only have one good mechanic. Thankfully he's a stone's throw from me.

Too complex for its own good??????
I'm sure it won't be too difficult to list out all the awful mechanics we've had who've claimed to be specialists.... Zedtech SouthWestZed Automodz L.A.Autos There are a whole bunch more, one in particular, but I won't get into that.

Hard fuel lines - below battery area
I'm after the solid fuel pipes that sit under the battery tray which join the lines from under the car with those going to the fuel filter. Shown is LHD version for illustration. They're for replating, so as long as they're not rusty or bent, then that'll be great.

Thottle cable and cruise control cable brackets
These are now NLA and I want a set to refinish. Condition not important although don't want any with heavy corrosionor distortion. I will be powder coating and PVC dipping the ends. Looking for one of each of these please:
