  1. Can I have a show of hands as to who's booked their room? I need to give the hotel an update on numbers.
  2. Yes. It's an offence like it is here to drive with a blown bulb as suggested in that article. If you have a car with full LED lighting then a bulb kit is irrelevant. According to official RAC and AA documents, a bulb kit is not mandatory, it's recommendation only.
  3. I just rechecked. Spare bulb kit is recommendation-only.
  4. Time to replace what was the really grotty underlay that was starting to fall off my boot carpet. I've struggled to find a good boot carpet, the one I have is in good shape, but the underlay is/was not. It was a used carpet as the previous one I hacked up to fit a sub.....worst mistake I have made....the hacking of the carpet and the sub. So recently, I found a place selling what looked to be something almost identical to the original underlay. Now cutting it and glueing it in with high temp contact adhesive.
  5. Longlife / Powerflow AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! Because they're franchised, fitment quality can vary wildly. That's not the worst part about them, the materials are really low quality. Their tubing is some sort of mongrel steel which is stated as being stainless, but in actual fact is very low grade stainless which does corrode. Baffles are low-brow, I just wouldn't use them personally. Infinity Exhausts near Bristol make very good quality systems. Jimmer @ PowerZed uses them and I've seen the quality and workmanship, they really are extremely good and can make you exactly what you're after, whether it's a factory look and low sound, to something stupid. One that sticks in my mind was a very clean low mileage UK car which had a stock system on. Last year the owner wanted to replace it with a stainless system that looked very similar but had low noise levels. What he got was exactly that. Very very subtle, but looked OEM-esque and made a nice refined sound.
  6. Yes I know this, I can speak French. ;) Having them displayed on the dash is not to do with the plod. They are indeed used as that symbol as you described in your second post. :)
  7. Hippy pappy poo day young squire.
  8. Because the 'Moon'goose system sounds like a big fart. ;)
  9. Actually the locals put them on the dash not for the police reason at all. It's purely for their support for the 'gilet jaune' protests and has only been a thing since the protests first started in November last year.
  10. If they're waiting on a TwinZ shipment there probably isn't much I can do. I can talk to Victor and Efrain also but as they only ship once every few months, it's probably not going to speed up the process. Have you cancelled the order Russ or is it still live on their system?
  11. Yes you do, you also need carry hi-vis jackets, bulb kit, warning triangle, insurance/V5 documents. Don't worry about the breathalysers, they're not actually mandatory. Because it the moment that date is looking to be post-Brext, you'll also need to get an IDP from the post office.
  12. Probably the electrics in the MOT test bay?
  13. Now is probably a good time to invest in a new harness. :)
  14. Been using Z1 for about 15 years. Never had an issue with them and I've spent thousands. I know the owner pretty well and a number of the guys that work there and they've always been very good to me. Sorry you've had an issue. The main part of the issue sadly is with TwinZ deliveries to North America. They're sometimes sporadic at best and many orders are based in pre-orders to get the deliveries. It's not ideal, but sadly that's the way it is. I've met the guys from TwinZ, they're good guys but they're a small outfit and they're trying to service an international community from rather a remote location. Not an excuse, just a reason. Sometimes with these special parts, you just have to wait. I always keep an eye on my order status and make a quick call if I need any further information.
  15. I think you'll find that's Portugal Andrew. ;)
  16. It does. I remember when I took my brand new OEM spoiler out of the box and offered it up to the tailgate, it all seemed to slot into place with the wheels. :)
  17. It's got the makings of a nice car. The Blitz wheels look great.
  18. Actually whilst the 350z was a bit of a disappointment it does have a good chassis and did what Nissan always wanted to do with the Z lineage and that was to make it affordable again (at launch, it was about 1/3rd less than that of the 300zx at the end of its production run). The performance issue was dealt with with the introduction of the HR version of the engine which brought it up to par. It's a fun car to drive and whilst it doesn't offer the excitement of the Z32, it's pretty good and some would argue a more fun car to drive than an NA Z32. As far as evolutions go, it's not that bad, there are much much worse. Toyota's new Supra for example which also has less power than the original. Mazda's RX-8 which was a bit of a joke after the RX-7. NMUK are a dull outfit however Nissan Japan make some very exciting cars. The R35 for example is an awesome machine and the 370z is also good fun. Both do need replacement models but they're still decent cars and their replacements (soon to be announced) will bring in a wave of future technological advancements. Nissan have always made boring humdrum like the Micra and the Qashaqi. Back when the Z32 came out, we had the Bluebird and the Micra, so things haven't really moved on much in their regular segment either. Carlos Ghosn, whilst in serious trouble was praised for saving Nissan. Without Ghosn, we may not even have had Nissan (think of those spare parts) today. Ghosn also joined the company when they were still making the Z32 albeit in its dying years. Whilst I am not a fan of his, things might be a very different for us maintaining a Z32 if Nissan had gone pop (they were very close to bankruptcy).
  19. Something is wrong there Graham. The contractual figure is £82.50 + VAT incl. breakfast (double occupancy) which comes out at £99 (regular price is over £150 I believe looking at pricing from internet sources). Irrespective, you're being overcharged; as per Andrew's comments, did you quote the reference code? Do you want me to give her a call tomorrow morning?
  20. Guys, please now book your rooms! :) All is sorted with the hotel (finally) and rate now includes breakfast within the price of the hotel room. There are single and double occupancy prices and as mentioned, this includes a full English and/or continental breakfast. Booking code: 131922 or 300zx Owners Club Bed & Breakfast Single Occupancy: £84 Bed & Breakfast Double Occupancy: £99 Hotel: Woodland Grange Old Milverton Lane, Leamington Spa CV32 6RN Tel: (01926) 336621
  21. Yes, by you about 45 minutes ago. ;) The responses are correct. :)
  22. Curious, your last post was July last year. You pick an interesting time to make a come back. ;) Welcome back though. :)
