Simply Japanese.
Just got back myself! What an awesome day! Just like last year, the weather was perfect, the turnout was fantastic and a great day had by all! Probably my favourite event on the calendar. Well done to Joel for doing the car and the club proud! Great to meet old and new faces! :) Thanks to Stephen for organising!

Another little gem
I can't stand those ebay crystal rear lights. They don't match anything else just like those crystal clear front indicators. Awful.....as is the seller's decision to put Brembo stickers on his Sumitomo callipers.... on top of the Nissan logo. An easy save though - great project car.

Too many knobs...
Yeah, it's always been cheaper for some unbeknown reason. Probably something to do with Nissan UK putting excessive markups on UK specification parts - 99 knob was always import-only.
-
Too many knobs...
As above. The stock knob is by far and away the best. Perfectly weighted and the right size/shape. Nissan got it right, no amount of after market metal knobs, cheap plastic or aftermarket leather knobs and quick shifters do anything to improve the feel.

Weather's looking very good for Sunday! Mid 20s and sunny....actually, just like last year! I'm almost all ready. The Z is in for an alignment on Saturday morning. Aim to be at Tesco for 8! Need to buy some Meguire's Quick Detailer!!!

Are my tyres wrong?
I run 265 30 19 on my 9" front wheel - probably a bit of bulge, but it's ok. 255 should be good, but that depends on who the tyre manufacturer is - tyre manufacturers NEVER standardise on profile, it's frustrating.

Found an exhaust at last
Mark's a good guy! Imagine the exhaust will be in great shape!

Built vs bought - opinions please!
Saw it! Firstly, that Fliff Factory retrim was stunning, secondly, that Asakura Marko dude is a complete idiot. He's comparing apples to oranges and can't seem to understand that.

Built vs bought - opinions please!
My opinion, as I have or am soon to be, going through both processes! I ordered mine from leatherseats.com in the US which is where they're actually cut and fabricated. I certainly got what I asked for, the colours were right and it arrived pretty quickly. Fitment was 'ok', but they must be taken from original hard and firm bolsters that were in original shape. I was lucky and mine fit pretty well, not perfect, but there's no wrinkles or sagginess. There are areas that would need attention and that's where the trimmer would be useful! Now I ordered half a hide to do my door cards and other panel work and that was sent off to Krytch Trimmers in Bristol along with my door cards etc. I've seen some truly SHOCKING interior fits with fabric cut and folded with wrinkles and gaps. I was lucky, they did a pretty good job, but not perfect. If/as/when I have mine redone (which is likely to be over the winter), then I'll be taking it to you. From what I have seen, not only is the fitment much better, but also, there is far more colour and fabric choice. With many of these online seat places, you get a limited selection of what can be used. leatherseats.com have a very good configurator, but they lack (or at least when I ordered mine) much in the way of material choice. Then there's material quality - again, down to choice. With the online seat cover places, you have what they've got which is likely to be an 'affordable' material, rather than a 'quality' material.

LED Glow when they blow fuses link.
Pretty cool - however I can't even remember when I last blew a fuse in my Z....in fact I don't think I ever have. lol

Car Culture Live 2015
Agreed on both counts! The wheels on the 350 look terrible - awful fitment and poor tyre sizing too.

Project Dittohead Red
Well that's kind of a relief! Replacing an oil pan and a sender is going to be less damage to your wallet to any strip down!

JaiKai - Full rebuild & Respray
See if MJP can get the other. CZP and Z1 generally draw on US stocks in Tennessee, although you've got RHD wiper arms, these may have been in the country for some time. Mike orders from UK, Euro and Japan stocks, so the profiles are slightly different. In all honesty, US has more stock of Z32 parts, but there might be some things that Mike can get that US is not able to support.

Polishing with WD40...
As above, Autosol is very good, on the pipework, Belgom Alu is pretty good also. Not quite as good on polished SS as Autosol is however.

JaiKai - Full rebuild & Respray
THAT is nice! I think I should get a new one. It's hard to refinish old ones as there's a rivet hinge that you can't get away from!

Nice! Is that your new starting/charging loom behind in the poly bag!?

Polishing with WD40...
Scotchbrite will scratch the material. OK to do the unfinished/unpolished areas inside the tips, but I wouldn't use it on the main polished sections. There are good enough chemicals and compounds on the market without dragging wire-wool over your tailpipes.

Please do! It's a waste of a new part otherwise. :)

300zx insurance....is anyone in the club actually insured with....
.... Adrian Flux? Seems that there's constant bad-press and poor quotations. So just wondering if anyone here actually has insurance with them and if so, how much? I'm not insured with them, but I'm curious to know if anyone actually is?...I am talking about insurance on your Z, not on anything else. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?65748-Insurance-for-Club-members&p=1880017#post1880017
