  1. Looks like you went along to the Avenue Drivers' Club meeting in Bristol judging by the photos. Nice car, all it needs are genuine 99-spec rear lights. :) Welcome to the club!
  2. It can be, yeah, as is moisture content. My garage is very dry however and the temperature was around 20. Ideal painting conditions.
  3. God those are ugly! I think I'd rather have the odd stone chip! ;)
  4. Painted this today for Vig (sumshiftyguy) as one of his got damaged by a rogue stone! Came out ok, unfortunately 2 small pin holes in the mould that didn't present themselves until after painting, but it came out reasonably well. Surprisingly hard to paint due to the angles and deep recess.
  5. SEXY! Most 80's cars have 'some' retro appeal - 80s humdrum Nissans however have absolutely none of that. To be honest, Nissan as a brand over here are pretty weak. NMUK do very little to push their brand as a 'cool' brand as most of the vehicles on offer here are dull insipid econoboxes. There's been almost no Nissans in motorsport in the UK - sure, we see them at LeMans and other GT events, but that's pretty much it. NMUK are a marketing machine. Euro Nissans have always been drab and Nissan is still not a 'cool' brand like it is in North America for instance as their range of cars is far more appealing. I actually don't like Nissan at all. I like the GTR, but before that, the only car I liked was the 300zx. As much as I love the 300zx, I have little regard for Nissan as a brand, there's very little to get excited about.
  6. Very nice. Jack the rear up a smidge and it would be perfect. :)
  7. Jimmer has one of those that he'll sell.
  8. Correct. I need to speak to Luke and get it returned as the fittings were M/F not F/F. - - - Updated - - - Only one rear pipe is still available, I can't remember which side.
  9. I replaced my hard lines Lee. They're pretty inexpensive. I personally wouldn't fit SS lines straight to the calliper especially if they didn't have the correct fixing points.
  10. Did you see any Micras, Cherrys or Bluebirds?
  11. If your Z is RHD and you can't adjust the headlights, it sounds like your headlight adjusters could be broken (very common). PS....holy thread resurrection!
  12. Whatever it is you buy, make sure it has no, or as little rust as possible, this is now their Achilles-heel.
  13. The boot retainers on for the Sumitomo callipers are hateful things.
  14. Having owned my Z for over decade now, I've noticed a number of things which has made me think that the Z32 has now 'become of age'. This isn't a thread about market values (we all know they're slowly rising), but more about what has become of the cars and what many owners are now doing to them. Of course, performance upgrades have always been something that people have been keen to do (I include myself in that statement), but visuals etc (despite being highly subjective) have completely moved away from the great big ugly bodykits as displayed in the 90's to mid 2000s. Long gone are rag rolled paint jobs, acres of fibreglass, lurid colours, graphics, neons and other such nastiness. Over the past year or two, I've noticed more and more people going down the restoration route to bring their cars back to their former glories and more! There are less people looking to buy junk on a budget and fit cheap rubbish to it. The Z32 has come of age! I notice cars like JoelyP's, AndrewG's, Dougal2000's, Jaikai's and RichieK's becoming cars that people are spending a lot of time either making their already tidy car even better or restoring back to former glories and further! It really is nice to see, not just because of my own admiration for the way the car looks as intended, but for preservation as they are becoming increasingly rarer. In summary and closing, the Z32 really has become a true enthusiast car that is starting to get noticed more and more. We as owners are doing a good job of that I think and the club's presence at various events across the UK is reinforcing that. This is also something I noticed at Beaulieu, a lot more attention is now focused on mint condition originals with choice modifications rather than multi-coloured bodykitted wonders from days of old. Owners and enthusiasts have moved away (thankfully) from aspiring to have a Z like this: ....to owning a Z like this: Sure, tastes change, but it seems that more people are wanting to restore or see quality original vehicles. I've thoroughly enjoyed seeing these projects and have become more proud for seeing the Z32 as the car that it really is and as a result, people are increasingly taking notice of the Z32.
  15. I used to have links to all the original brochure stuff like that. All the links are now dead. AndrewG will no doubt have a brochure that he might have images of online.
  16. Hell no! As if the Z wasn't bad enough in wet weather, would I really want to take them through snowy roads!? :wack: PS. I am utterly shite at skiing! PPS....seen all of these accessories many times over.
  17. Yeah, you're looking at the best part of £400 for all of them. If you have a clean Z, then they really make a huge improvement - couple that with new scuttle panels, bonnet hinge trims and re-powder-coated wiper arms, it makes the car look so fresh. It's expensive, but worth it if you're after the cleanest look possible. Buy now as it won't be long until they're discontinued. You can refurbish the trims, but they don't look like factory originals. You can repaint the scuttle panels too, but again, it won't look factory and you're still left with the biggest issue, they go brittle and fall apart to the touch.
  18. You don't have to. It's only worth it if you're A: using the AutoRoute a lot and B:don't have someone in the passenger seat to pay when you get to the péage. They all accept both plastic and coinage. Getting out of a RHD vehicle and running round to the péage to throw coins in the bin or use the card machine is a pain in the ass.
  19. RFID tag....for French motorways
  20. Not really the prettiest of wheels to work with, but I say top one too. A nice powdercoat anthracite would work well IMO. :)
  21. Are your tension rods and control arms stock? I you have Midori style suspension components with solid or rose mounted joints, then this is endemic of them as they can work themselves lose, another reason why I hate solid joints.
