Don't worry, I have to replace the whole engine and was sold a duffer by a forum member. So not only do I still have to replace the engine, I have been shafted over by £400.

Can't see why not. Usually the splines are of similar size. Would make the back end look a bit more beefy and modern I think.

Here's a clay that's picked up all the surface crap not brought off by hand washing. BTW, car has to be totally dry for the clay to work. Cutting compounds will depend on what the current paint surface is like. You can use a combination to remove scratches and stuff. Have a look through. http://www.detailingworld.co.uk as there's tons of info on there.

You'd be supprised how good propper cutting compounds and mopping is. I used to think T-cut was ok and then a quick wax. T-cut doesn't really remove the swirls as pictured above but it removes oxidisation on the paintwork.

Clay bars are like a scraper in effect. They pull off things like tar, hard to remove bird dropping remains, remnants of flys, basically take off the layer of crap and oxidisation giving you a clean surface on which to recondition the top coat. T-cut is crap IMHO, if you're really wanting to restore the shine and remove haze and the dreaded swirls, you need to cut back the top layer using a rotary buffer with a pad and various different compounds before applying polish and buffing it (mopping). It's a very very time consuming process of you're going to do it properly. Basically, you can turn paint from this... ...to this...

....from Communications direct/white hart communications etc etc phoning me thrice daily to see if I want to renew my contract on O2. Anyone else had this? It's absolutely ridiculous. There must about 40 different communications vendors, ALL in South Wales and no matter what I say, they still won't leave me alone. RAC and AA are no better/worse than each other from my experience although at least the AA don't try to sell you parts you don't need. I was waiting on the M4 a few years ago when my daily runner blew up. I was left waiting for over 4 hours. Luckily, it was not summer time. But was in the middle of the day.
