  1. Nope, he was too spineless mate. Anyway, one good thing did come out of it. The block and crank were absolutely pristine. No wear on the shells at all. So used that as the basis for reconditioning since my old block was totally shagged. I think it was a very low mileage block he sold me as there was no bore wear or shell wear at all and the shells were original. But the rest of it was crap. One head wasn't even torqued down and one head gasket had a hole in it the size of a 10p piece. So no way could his 'guarantee it 100% running' actually have meant its worth, because basically, the engine would not have ran with a head not bolted to the block, let alone the hole on the head gasket. Anyway, all’s well that ends well. I have an absolutely amazing engine now. Just sounds like brand new. So smooth.
  2. Indeed, I did a few screen grabs to illustrate how it works on another forum I use (using VBulliten).....hope this gives you an idea.
  3. I know what you mean. The money I had put back for a retrim went on a complete engine rebuild. But it was worth it though as my car now sounds brand new. Absolutely glorious the engine sounds. Used a very low mileage block, and my old heads and refurbished the lot.
  4. I know, my old house mate used to have one when I lived in Southampton. Quite a strange sensation actually. He had a shite exhaust on his and it sounded really whiney, but the engine was lovely.
  5. Sunday evening mate. Ferry gets in at about 9.30pm I think.
  6. You have officially had more back luck with your Zed than I have.
  7. Narrr, just got my Zed back thanks after rebuild. Don't want to have to buy another cat that needs a rebuild!
  8. I like those actually. Considered a white convertible turbo2 a number of years ago,
  9. What's that black thing in the first pic on the far right hand side? It's not an old RX7 Convertible is it?
  10. Going over to France until next week. So will be in Portsmouth tomorrow evening if anyone's about.
  11. Narrr, not really.....
  12. I'd rather give Hattie Jaques' corpse cunnilingus whilst having H51 infected swans rammed up my chocolate starfish than have to watch that rancid blob of manatee spunk, also known as football. BTW, the roads are good. Just gone to pick up my Astra and the M5 was dead. :D
  13. Oh well, someone has to like that lot I guess... ;) A nicely lit boot instal is one thing, fairy lights and crap underneath the car is just shat.
  14. I think they'd look good in a silver or solid white Zed...with the mods I'd mentioned. Other than that, I am in two minds.
  15. Yup, Mike's very good. Had a last minute order with him last week for bearing shells, a roller, and wiring harness.....well, the engine this week is now in the car and running!
  16. I know, sorry about that. :o *note to self; must keep dipper in the zipper"
  17. 6, 3 are due off in September and another 3 in April. Wooohooo!
  18. Not checked BBC News24 yet.... :nelson: ;)
  19. He's away on the Nürburgring Road Trip. His Avatar can't have been changed. They are over there now. Should be back on Sunday iirc.
  20. hehehe, just kiddin'... http://www.mjpauto.com
  21. In English? Ok. MJP
  22. Isn't there a red Zed in it? Only in a couple of shots.
  23. Why not have a seller rating system? Can give feedback...not sure how easy this is to impliment, but I think the VB software can run things like this. Seen it on another VB powered forum I use.
