It fookin' is here as some ball bag has just had this amazing idea and lit a bonfire....on the hottest day of the year. So what does everyone have to do in order for them to stop their houses smelling like a incineration plant? Close their windows.....when it's as hot as the surface of Venus! Not to mention that everything is tinder dry and could go up like touch paper. :headvswal :mad: :xxx:

Incidently, Eliza has had the finish all smoothed off... Looks so much better and more slick because of it. Because of my beefcake of an exhaust, it'll glow in the paintwork...whereas, now it doesn't. I'll refit the pin stripe though.

The stuff on the bumpers is not stone chip paint. Just a horrible painted plastic finish which actually chips and flakes off due to that fact. Paint can't adhere to it because it's not a smooth and flat surface. The dips in the finish cannot be sanded and as such means that paint won't bond to it. I've lost count of the amounts of Zeds I've seen with nasty scabby bumpers because all the paint's flaked off the bottom sections, not to mention that the finish is unsightly.

Thanks mate, it's the tailgate and cracked perspex lense that ruin it. Just don't have the time to get it done at the moment although I have the cash for it.

'IF' I do come, it'll be Saturday night. I have a ship in on the Saturday day time. Although I don't really want to show my car as it has a cracked tailgate panel and a few other bits and bobs wrong.

Might have to be nothing as I'm not 100% sure that the 99-spec spoiler would look right on the pearl white. If I had a solid white, then for sure, I'd not even hesitate.

Highline spoilers only look good on wide arch kits IMHO. I'm certainly NOT going to have one of those on mine.

When you say beams, are you talking about the roof beams? Yes, this is something I've been thinking about too. When the bumper gets repainted, I'm having all that nasty motled finish removed. It'll take some sanding as it's molding into the plastic. Getting the lower part of the front bumper done in the same way too.

Not much, but I'm getting the tailgate and rear bumper resprayed soon as there are belmishes on them and I want the thing to look as near-perfect as possible. Can't decide if I want to keep the smooth de-spoilered look of mine. I like it, but something's telling me to possibly go lip spoiler. I do like those, but unfortunately, you loose the 3rd brakelight. 99-spec rear spoiler (as much as I like them) I don't think would look right on it, but that's only down to the colour of the car. So maybe I'll keep it as it is. What's people's thoughts on this? I'm not talking the wiper off. Like to leave as much OE functionality on the thing as possible and besides, I don't want redundant switch-gear.

I will come along as well. Feel I should make my presence known in the central region....this all depends upon work commitments though, but should be ok.

I personally think that if you're going down that route, then get some afterburner lights like SgT C or MarkZX. Usually not my cuppa tea, but with the backing plates and centre section sprayed gloss black, they look really cool. I think with your kit and if you have that almost pearl effect paint, it would look really good. MarkZXs rear looks really good with those lights.

I've gone and done mine white. Red looks good on some, but I want to keep colours to a minimum on mine. I find that's the best way to make something easier on the eye.

I think if I was in the market for another Z, I'd be looking at a convertible. Would do a wide arch kit and a TT conversion. This makes me dribble. Incidently, the owner of the above owns Z1 Motorsports and has invited me over to Atlanta next year for the 300ZX Nationals day! :bow:

Yeah I always needed a new one as it's faided. They are crap. Christ knows what muppet at Nissan thought that perspex would be a good material to make car components out of. Mine is only broken because I wanted to know how to take it off. Ops! I'll get a new one when I've had the tailgate and rear bumper resprayed.
