  1. Cool, you know what a good one feels like then. Good luck. Dave
  2. fair one, didn't see that.
  3. I'm a bit closer but can't drive or go anywhere due to an injury. Happy to have a look over if you can test drive it in this direction? I'm certainly not an expert but I've rebuilt a zed engine and do my own work so have half an idea of what I'm looking at. IMO test drive it hard so anything unusual will show up. If the owner is confident of the quality of the car then they wont mind you booting it a bit. Has it already been modded/rebuilt at all? I personally wouldn't touch a standard car anymore, I think they are to old now. I reckon you should buy expecting to rebuild or get one thats already rebuilt by someone who knows what they doing (not a clown like me :wack: ). A lot of unlucky owners about at the moment who are having to spend money out. May as well get one already done and then use your cash to do performance upgrades instead of maintainance ones. Anyhow thats my opionion! Dave

Fecking hell mate!! Thats unlucky, like you said it was not something that would have been helped by the jacket, but god what a thing to happen . Rest in Peace.
  5. Has anyone been to this track? what is it like? How does it compare to caste combe (only one I've been to)?
  6. Don't know what Funky Si has decided to do but he needs an engine. Don't know if he wants to get another one off of someone, but if he can hear it going and compression test, etc maybe he'll be interested?

Not got any engineering toys where I'm from but: - Heavy rocks in mates bergan before a 25km yomp, he was hanging out of his ar*e at the end! (old ones always the best) - Put my mates (don't know why I have any really!) whole room outside of the building on the pavement in exact same positions. - Threw mates bedroom out the window (ahem, bit much that one) - Black maskered the company clerk to the frame of a table and left him in the car-park for most of the day (even the high rankers walked by!) - Roped down the side of the building and took pictures of a mate having some 'recreation time'. Posted them on the notice boards. - Moved a passed out drunk mate and his bed onto the parade square during basic training - 'Eyebrowed' several people. - Covered everything in room in newsapaper - Covered everything in room in post-its - Changed all of someones rations for fruit dumplings, anyone who has tasted them knows the torture. - Someone I know fed a camel treacle pudding till it passed out, poor thing! - My mate 'c*ck' post-it'd me everywhere. Hundreds of the blo*dy things. I'm still finding them now 6mths later when I open a book I havn't seen in a while, or changing something on the car. I even got to the beach to go surfing and opened my surfboard bag while changing and had a load fall out of it. Everyone of them saying 'c*ck' - When moving my repack boxes out of the barracks some of the boxes were particularly heavy for me and my dad. Found a load of great big rocks in them, cheers guys.
  9. That was funny as Feck!
  10. Cheers mate, feeling better but its gonna take a week or two I guess. Still spinning if I do anything strenuous, although managed to please the lady earlier :x: :hyper: . I'm off to see a neurologist to make sure my brain isn't going to implode during the week. Should just be confirmation of what the doctor already said (touch wood and all). Dave
  11. Get it sprayed before I reckon.
  12. Goods phots guys! Will get my sorry ar*e to a meet sometime! Thought I'd hang out at the hospital this weekend. Dave
  13. There's one of those lexus coupe things in my work. It looks awful! The same one that topgear slammed I think. That new one looks pretty awesome though.
  14. The coupe sounds like an animal 5l V8 !! GTR/Supra fight is on then. I'll be interested to see if the GTR is as performance focused as the last one, v6/8 wont be as tunable I guess.
  15. If you do a search of my posts there's one from the r34 brembos that I fitted, with all the phots of the job. R33 are straight fit and cheaper because they are older and more worn. R34 require the bolt holes to be drilled out, a relatively easy (but a little worrying if you don't play with tools much as there is no return) job. And the performance is probably one of the best zed upgrades bar spending 3k on APracing calipers and discs or whatever. Expect to pay 450ish for R33 calipers and around £800 for R34 or 350Z ones. Remember that whatever they say about any existing pads and discs with them, chances are you'll have to buy new ones which is about the same cash again, but essential to get the true performance potential. I used the second hand ones I got with the calipers and they did the job for 3mths but were vibrating (slightly warped + fitting to a different car needs bedding in) badly at first and calmed down after a month or so. When I put smithy's DBA gold discs and porterfield pads on the braking performance once bedded in was awesome (bed in slowly so you dont warp them). Dave

I don't quite follow what you said but nissan have unusual wiring in that they put the switch on the otherside of the circuit to what you would expect. Might be talking out of my derriere though.
  17. Nice one. I was worried when I started reading the thread! Should have gave me a call mate. Dave
  18. Useful guide there, cheers. Need to clean mine out sometime I reckon. Dave
  19. I don't know mate, I've never fitted any myself as mine were on the car. I do know that people have had issues with boost etc and its been because the BOVs weren't set up properly, should be a screw or something I'd imagine. Dave ps I seem to be giving out a lot of unhelpful advice lately; 'isn't there a widget that adjusts the thingamebob'
  20. Have you guys tried the online workshop manual? If its meant to be there it will be in the manual. Dave

  23. Isn't there an adjustment thingy on them to change at what moment they dump? Yours helpfully Dave!
  24. Feckin arsehole, has no idea.
