  2. anyone know of any divorced downpipes that actually fit the automatics? thanks guys =]
  3. ever since i got my zed its had a idle fault, i believe it is down to the idle control valve plug as it's full of corrosion, but no amount of cleaning seems to make it go away. It will sometimes idle like a dream but when any electrical load is added e.g. lights, fogs or even putting my foot on the brake the revs drop like a stone and it will almost stall just before the revs pick back up and it idles at around 1500rpm. there are other times where it is 100% perfect and there are also sometimes it likes to idle at 2000rpm. im going to change the plug anyway but want to know if it could be anything else. thanks guys jay :)
  4. haha thats awesome never would have thought that a bmw windscreen would have fit lmao xD what year fits?
  5. not sure what years have them or engine size i know the 1.3l has them but other years might have them too, and im sure new is probably better but this is defiantly cheaper haha. i also got some bmw bonnet struts to fit to so would have been even cheaper.
  6. Totally agree about twin tips they really set the back end off. sadly the last owner of mine fitted a high flow exhaust with oval tips sounds nice but bloody ugly :(
  7. holy cow! cant understand how anyone could let a car drive around like that lol unbelievable!
  8. Just a tip for those who have cracked coilpack plugs as I have been needing to get some new ones myself but yesterday I made a discovery. (assuming know one else noticed) I was working on my neighbours Nissan micra when I noticed the plug on the loom for the O2 sensor looked familiar. So off to the the local breakers I went and raided every micra they had and low and behold they fit perfect, only managed to get 5 but I'm not complaining for a tenner! :D thought someone might find this useful :)
  9. Awesome I'm camping here tonight sadly my zed isn't here thought
  10. Anyone at the jap show at santa pod this weekend?
  11. ill have to take it apart a bit more before i can see that haha will have to have a look when i get some free time
  12. While exploring my new zed I discovered my ecu has a mines sticker on it, iv done some research but can only seem to find vague bits of information so I'm a little curious to what the difference is compared to a normal ecu. I can assume the the map is different but just wondering if there is more to it than that. Thanks :)
  13. R12 is the old gas that is now illegal because it is ozone deplenishing, so R134a is the drop in replacement, but make sure you put some PAG oil in system as the mineral oil used with R12 wont mix with R134a. If the oil and the refrigerant are not soluble with each other the oil will not move around the system correctly, Thankfully the mineral oil and PAG oil do mix so the system don't need flushing or anything. the previous owner of my zed had the compressor changed but did not add any oil, now i have a seized compressor :(
  14. I'm pretty sure its the voltage regs (or at least that's what they look like could be fets) iv not checked yet, although i might just buy an old 1000w kenwood from my father in law
  15. after spending loads of time checking everything the only casualty is my amp which is now completely short but I'm not to worried, just happy the car is fine :) thanks guys
  16. i was looking at random zed parts on ebay the other day and saw this, not sure if you've seen it or not but just in case you haven't http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-300ZX-AC-AIR-CON-CONDITIONING-RADIATOR-/230969106069?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3A300+ZX&hash=item35c6d4de95
  17. ok all is still good except for my amp which i fitted this morning and was about to test, so got to take it out to try fix it, but at least all the important bits are still working
  18. thanks so much guys, just has a look and sure enough its blown, quickly bodged it and it starts and moves (thank god) lol the radio seems to have a blow fuse but i think that's it. Really appreciate that guys thanks :D :D :D
  19. Hey guys really need some advice, i just swapped my battery to find that the terminals were the wrong way round was only connected for maybe 5 or 10 seconds before i released. i quickly pulled the terminal off and now NOTHING works which i find strange, even the headlights wont turn on when the ignition is off? any ideas to what i might have broke? thanks guys, feel really silly right now
  20. iv got all the stuff to regas it myself, the previous owner said he had the ac comp changed I'm guessing they didn't put any new oil in the system so it just locked up.
  21. ah awesome thanks i was worried that it i would have to change all the loom and stuff lol ill have to get the parts along with all the bits i need for changing my sized compressor just hope its not ruined the rest of the ac system.
  22. Hi everyone :) was looking at my climate control control today and realized that i could not change what vent i wanted to use, i have the model with two fan buttons and not the one with one button for fan speed and one for vent selection. My question is this, can i swap one for the other without having to change all the air box and vents...ext or is it not worth the hassle Thanks :D
