Interior retrims - possible "group buy" for 2017...?
According to the poll so far, there'd be enough definitely interested parties to achieve the full 25% discount! :thumbup1: In all fairness, that's a lot of money off...!

Came across some new wiper blades - not very exciting thread....
Mine still work fine, although they don't do a great deal above 80 mph....

Interior retrims - possible "group buy" for 2017...?
A good question, Keith :) Here's how it would work: If it was to go ahead, I'd start a thread detailing everything including the start date for the first retrim and the closing date for the GB. Interested parties then add themselves to the list and the order they posted would be the order in which the work would be done. Interested parties would then need to discuss exactly what they wanted with me so I could give an accurate quote and expected duration of the work involved, as well as an estimated start date (based primarily on the people who were before them in the queue). Once the GB had ended and, of course, as long as the minimum number of participants had been reached, I'd start taking deposits which would then confirm each person as being booked in for the work. Obviously, because of the nature of what I do, there'd very likely be quite a lengthy timescale involved for the whole GB. For example, if we had 8 people who all wanted seats and panels trimming, they'd all get the 25% discount but, conversely, the eighth person could be waiting around 7 months from the start date for their own work to commence. So this can't be the same as, say, Richie's recent GB for the throttle covers, where everyone gets the end result at the same time. It'd be nice if it could work that way, but there's only one of me and I do need to sleep occasionally! More neck than a herd of giraffe sometimes... ;)

You may as well just give me your bank card, y'know... although you always find some way of not paying full price for anything...!

Didn't you want all the panels done to match as well, Tom? I'm sure they were discussed as well as the seats, mate. :thumbup1:

Interior retrims - possible "group buy" for 2017...?
Afraid not, guys :( They'd only be discounted as part of an overall retrim. I'll edit the original post now. Sorry!

Interior retrims - possible "group buy" for 2017...?
Last year, I organised a "group buy" over on the 350Z forum for retrims. The reason I did it over there first is because they only have two seats which (in theory, anyway) meant I could keep the waiting time down to a minimum. But I've been here for a few years now so I'm considering setting one up for Z32 owners on this fine forum. :thumbup1: There would be a couple of rules and stipulations, so here they are: The discount would be a maximum of 25%, which would be entirely dependent on the numbers involved. If I did it the same as the 350Z one, it'd be as follows: 5 to 9 members total would get a 15% discount, whereas 10 or more members would all receive a 25% discount! The group buy would only go ahead once at least 5 (or 10) participants had paid their relevant deposits. The minimum requirement for this would be seats (either front two, or all four). Delivery would not be included in any costings. There would be no limits on materials or designs or anything like that - the only limits would be your imagination (and the depth of your pockets ;) ). Realistically, any work for this GB wouldn't be taking place until mid-2017 by my reckoning, so that's something else to bear in mind. So, with all that said, might there be many (or any!) members interested in such a thing....? Discuss. :)

What did you do to your zed today?
The leather is Perrone Noir from Italy. Si specifically wanted something that was going to be a close match for the texture of the centre pad, so the leather needed to have a reasonable grain and a matt finish, so the Perrone got the gig. :) As a rule, I tend to use Scottish leather more than anything else but Italian hide has it's uses...

Big brake upgrade (fronts only)
I will, in the very near future, be replacing my current front brake setup so the current stoppers will be up for sale. This is an INTEREST thread at the moment. The kit comprises of a pair of 345mm grooved fronts discs, the adaptor brackets to mount the Z32 calipers properly and a pair of fully refurbed alloy OEM calipers. The discs have done maybe 2000 miles since I fitted them. I stripped the calipers back to bare alloy, then had them soda-blasted and painted in Candy Red earlier this year, and fitted brand new pistons, seals and dust boots all round. They'll come with pads and all the necessary clips and whatnot. Everything you need to bolt on, basically! I'll be looking for £200 delivered for the lot so, if you're interested, let me know and we'll take it from there :thumbup1:

Chrome door striker set (Series 1)
Time to sell this chrome door striker set, I think. Really only suitable for a Series 1 car as it has the upper latches at the top of the door sial, as well as the striker plates. Comes complete with all screws and washers. There's a little bit of rust on the strikers, as can be seen in the photos. £35 delivered to your door :) Driver's side: Passenger side:

"You picked a fine time to leave me, Loose Wheel!" - Mondo's new Zed.
Hot night here in The Village last night... couldn't sleep, so I sat up in the wee small hours drafting out some designs for the revamped interior. :) I think I've settled on a design now, which won't be too far removed from how it is now... it'll just be better! I was only thinking before Coventry that I wished I hadn't rushed last year's trim so it looked a little better than it currently does. But it seems enough people who were there liked it anyway and I ended up winning an award despite writing the above! I'm genuinely very proud to win it and a huge thank you to all who voted for me. It's really nice to know that my vision for my Zed resonates with other people as well.

Well, 6 cars between us and Yorkshire! I had an enjoyable convoy home with Bird, Paul and Johnny too (we lost the other two somewhere somehow!) and seeing and hearing Johnny's Vert is making me want one more and more.....

Coventry 2016.Big thank you
I had a great time this weekend :) Really good to catch up with people I haven't seen for a while and also to meet some new faces as well. Well done to the commitee for organising it and equally well done to the membership for turning in such a large number and making such a cracking display at the museum today :thumbup1:
