  1. A competition clutch 6 puck, and the XTD light flywheel. I have improved the understeer by the way, I stiffened the front suspension, I think I had slowly (a click at a time over months of "a bit softer") dropped off the bottom of the performance zone for the front suspension.
  2. Wooooah! Thats a lot of money, I have seen a few nice zeds that have slightly off fitment of the nose.
  3. Doing this properly, I googled "colours that go with teal." 2 lads here said lemon and orange. Its a track car with some pretty in your face aero so go big or go home.
  4. Haha, I forgot I got it from you mate I wasn't having a go :) It's not bad but it's not right.
  5. Thanks Gary, the source material is gone so the links will be dead thank you. It wasn't unsafe, we had 4 people looking out for the bird scarer or runway sweeper, otherwise the airfield was closed. It was about 10pm on a Friday and the car got a pre drag inspection. No harm was done. All the same, delete the video, it never happened :) It was heels together back straight... but on the phone!
  6. I just got told off by a wing commander so I am sure no one has, but any copies of that footage that may have been made, please delete them. There should be no traces anywhere.
  7. Fits better than my JUN bumper. I've don't think I have ever seen a well fitted nose on a zed.
  8. My liners have seen better days, it is a B surface in my mind and there is some cable tie technology going on under there. More importantly That car is beautiful  funky wheels and fitment have never sparked my interest before, but I really like that, I would drive that and be very proud of it. :thumbup1:
  9. Does abs only work on the front? Didn't know that. I am crap at bleeding brakes I always do it on 3 occasions, bleed, drive, stand, bleed... before it is to my standard of rock solid. And doing that beds the brakes in which firms the pedal in itself.
  10. Have you bled the abs unit in the boot on the drivers side? Do the brembos have multiple bleed nipples? I don't think the engine should be on. I would let it stand bleed it again, drive it a short way and then bleed it in case there is a requirement to circulate fluid through the abs unit which must have valves and stuff in it. New brakes can feel soft till they bed in.
  11. Our cars need a little ram that will hop you onto the curb at the outside of the roundabout rather than let it rip your back wheel off. We don't need the fire blanket, there must be a trade to be had there.
  12. That is a brilliant bit of design. Label it up as "NISMO AUTO DEPLOY FIRE BLANKET" coolest mod at the show straight away, beat any Supra boys. Go Nissan :)
  13. I wish 60 feet mate I measured it with a tape :ninja: I wasn't timing the 0-60 but it was the time it takes to read this v v v "Screech! Urgh... Boooooost! Whatchuuuum! Second go! Oooooh bloody hell Brake!" That sort of long :)
  14. I am wrong, I want more pressure in the front to increase the response of the nose and whip it into the apex. This is so difficult as at a sprint like TOTB or on the road you never get the tyres properly hot so the idea of low pressure fronts to get them hot and get some grip going is irrelevant.
  15. The car launched arrow straight so well done to the diff and the chassis. The alignment is... Zero toe front and rear 2 degrees negative camber all round 9 degrees caster For drag I was very happy with it's stability and on the road the car is very solid. I was just trying to get it totally 50 50 in ballance front to back. It was pretty much there but now initial turn in is good, just before the apex with about 100 degrees of lock on it starts to feel reluctant to tighten it's path and the response to steering input starts to fall off a cliff as it aproaches soft understeer, and you need throttle or lift off or something to push past that and to rotate the car. Previously as you got to it's limit the car felt up on it's toes and keen to rotate into the turn so you could start winding lock off and cracking the throttle out of the turn pretty much steering wheel straight from apex to exit. Now it has that soft nose push at mid corner. I will drop front pressures slightly and add just a tad in the rear, that will also fractionally shift the weight forward too.
  16. That's what I thought, its pretty much at max adjustment on damping and front and rear arbs are set to stiff. I perhaps could soften the front arb but really like the more positive nose the stiffer setting gave me. I have never fiddled with pre load but ride height I have the tail in the air nose on the ground. What I will try then, I will stiffen the nose 7 clicks see if it's too soft then go the other way if it makes it worse. Tyre pressures, drop a couple of psi in the fronts? Give it some more maleability a bit more bite? Is that how it works? If they're softer they will move more the carcass will warm up quicker that sort of thing? But it will dull response won't it? I think I will set the pressures at about 28 front 32 rear cold and hope my rear K sports drag the CofG and brake bias back a bit. I hate understeer :)
  17. I have tweaked over my ownership to get it neutral/ keen to rotate, and predictable. I was nearly there but the k sports and AC delete have made it that bit understeery. It can only be that trail braking is a bit less effective because the bias is well forward atm, the front axle has more unsprung mass and inertia and the centre of gravity has gone aft. I was under the impression that a stiff tail and soft nose would get it speaking my language, but I am now wondering if it is too soft nosed and the front tyres aren't sharing the work evenly under load. I will stiffen it 5 clicks in a couple of weeks, but I have grounded myself because I went a bit hot into a bend on the road and I haven't done that in years, I broke one of my rules so I'm driving like a chauffer atm. And Gary, thank you :) I'm not sure just how allowed that all was, the boss said in a casual manner why don't you practice on the pan but what I heard was "Tom... I, Air Traffic, the Station Commander and the Queen have no problem with you hooning about all over dispersal leaving so many black marks that it looks like a spirograph artwork on spot 2."
  18. Video!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myLIlXZy5fo
  19. Some of you may know I had a shakedown the other night, the video is just uploading to YouTube now. 8 launches and a few handling tests. It's gona be... 70 minutes :-(. If you guys are up that late I will link it here later on. Bob and everyone else I look forward to your feedback. 2 big things though, I know it could do with a map and that was perhaps unwise, but It was a very good opportunity to practice and the only chance I will have before the event. I found it surprisingly difficult and I am really glad I did. There were flames so it can't be running that lean and it ran a 21 psi for 2000 miles by accident so it's a brave little engine. I get a bit of understeer, not catastrophic but I am wondering if my front is too soft. All other variables aside and talking purely damping on the miester Rs. It is 25/30 stiff on the rear and 7/30 stiff on the front. It drives really well but is just on the understeery side of 4 wheel slide. Any advice here too please. :)
  20. Sounds awesome man, I plan to do that mod shortly, what an exciting read I can't do it soon enough now.
  21. If you're not subscribed you have to link to pictures on photobucket ot picasa or imgur or somewhere. Facebook doesn't always work because of privacy stuff. To see if youve done it right click go advanced (down and right) 5hen preview post to see if it has embedded the pic in the post.
  22. Welcome to the club, there are some big events coming up next month so keep an eye on here mate and get all your questions in at one of those. :)
  23. Joel  I only learn this stuff for a few days a year for my annual check, I then dump it all again to make sure I remember that cpr is 30:2 and anyone over 22 stone you winch the helicopter down rather than them up!
  24. Paul ZX put a group order in, but I think he did yeah. Andrew I agree with everything you have said. My honk came on after fitting my Selin Dual MAF and I thought I had created a boost leak at first it was so loud. I suppose it was just more audible after the mod. I will ask some Pilots and Engineers what they would call it. And when you shut down a Gnome engine there is no atmospheric vent system on it, but there is a definite harsh "kssssskhhh" rather than a softer "Psssst" Most engine failures it's the first thing you notice before the drop in power and floating about down the cabin starts. I think it is simply because it's quite a big cylinder full of compressed air and it comes out front and back when it runs down. I will pay close attention next time I am outside the aircraft when it shuts down and listen for any chirruping through the blades.
