  1. Thanks Steams. not sure if I mentioned before but got a family friend who happens to be very high up in Nissan. Told him I bought the 300ZX, and he advised me he has a brand new unused genuine Nissan original complete exhaust system laying around in one of his branches that I can have as a spare :D Thats the cherry on top of my day :D shame he cant get me a new spoiler or bumper. none left apparently lol.
  2. mate you can get a good deal, I got mine for £1900 and has only done 60,000 kilometers. and one owner from new (see my tread in general section) Thing is he had to sell as he is migrating back to Japan. and too much £ to take car back with him.
  3. lol first RWD car? MR2 tubby was my first RWD too lmao. infact it was my first car when I was 18 lmao.
  4. Keep your eyes open, a bargain will come up. But be careful, as I have seen some "bargains" that would be a money pit. I just bought mine today, so not far ahead of the stage your at. I know there is a few around, I will be using a company called Euro-Spec for maintaining mine, remember, a complete service belts and all can be as much as £800+ so a car for £200 more, might get from A to B - but eventually it will break down, and will be 1k down the drain. Take your time, you are doing the right thing having your feelers out. Welcome to the Club, I have been here 5 minutes (almost) and have already learnt so much about the car, and meeting some really great people :D Check this out, it helped me no end on my test drive: http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/BuyingZ.htm
  5. Not sure abut that Steams, seen his work ID etc, had to double check before leaving him a deposit lol. His house is a mansion I swear, lol. HUGE. Yes Rob, Sounds Ideal Matey. All we need is some driveable weather lol. Anyone drive their Z TT in the wet? steadily of course? is it do-able? the 200sx got a bit tricky at times, but was easily controlled, unlike the MR2 - When that was gone, it was gone lol.
  6. Thanks Rob, yes, have to get a meet going sometime lol. I only live down the road (about 20 mins from RNAS) I can hopefully host a 300ZX BBQ meet in the summer lol. before or after a nice drive lol. :D Got a semi decent sized heaed pool out the back, and carbon dipping kit in the garage at the bottom of the garden - could make a day of it. teach you how to carbon dip :P
  7. can u do a stock rear bumper* wish i knew how to edit posts lmao
  8. Hi Car.Mad, Got a pic :D Thats my lady as she stands. Paintwork not to bad, but im fussy, so will defo get new bumpers and do a full respray. can u do a new "stock" bumper? easier to spray new than prep an old bumper lol. here are some more pics of my FTO before and after lol. It was a bit grim when my partner had it, I restored it to silver, standard spec, as per the "very clean pic" then got bored and went with the whole black and white thing lol
  9. lmao. there is skirts on the car. I need to try get some pics up. only got a few as havent collected car yet.
  10. now im just confuzzled. Think I will go with 99 spec one, isnt there a lip available for it too? your gonna have to give me some time though buddy, got a lot to payout right now lmao. but at least I know where to go now :P was looking for 99spec, dont matter that its a replica.
  11. lol, yes I built a border one too lmao. Those skirts on the FTO look like DCs - I love them. I think I would like a bumper like DaZverts - looks great. Just need to see a few more pics before deciding, and if I dont, its not because I dont like it, its because its not subtle enough lmao. I wouldnt go veilside again, as its too in your face and I live on a granny estate, dont want to upset the neighbours, make them think my car is gonna eat there children and spit them out lol.
  12. definately. Also if im unable to get hold of the bumper im after, what is your bumper daZvert? looks real smart, and not too in your face - from the angle in your sig anyway lol. got any more pics?
  13. Owner was a traitor, Toyota Celica lights, what sort of *cough* would have huge vinyls across their windscreen? and suicide doors. why? bet he looks a *splutter* climbing in and out, not like you can just slide in with the doors opening that way lol. Maybe the last line of the advert has been removed? should read: "Selling due to being comitted to a mental asylum"
  14. Sorted, Bought a car :D http://300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?160913-Bought-my-TT-300ZX-today-D Next purchase will be membership, then insurance and road tax. I look forward to being a long standing member of the Z community, and will hopefully be able to have my car sat looking great amoungst many of the great examples I have already seen on the club. :D
  15. Not my cup of tea, but owner is sure there will be people dreaming of owning this monstorsity. I love the Z in standard form, however, I have seen a few nicely modded ones, but sometimes, people take it toooo far. could of spent that money on a few decent services lol.
  16. Gave you all rep, thanks for the warm welcome, and great advise. My cheeks are starting to hurt, how long will this cheshire grin last? lmao
  17. lol. Im trying to sell my DS3 right now, its only 5 months old lmao. soon as thats sold, I will be getting a BMW 335D Estate, as I need it for the dogs. at which point I will take the 300 of the road, for its full body respray :D in its AH3 original colour of course. I will prob then reinsure as a classic, but at the moment, my mileage will be too high for a classic policy. I think :s Who is your insurance with?
  18. I will definately pay up. Just cant till I have paid for the rest of the car lol. I told the misses she cant spend nothing till its paid for, and the same goes for me, Only have £1400 left to pay, which is nothing, but untill its paid, wallet is closed lol. Wont even order the parts till then. Will defo buy membership, before insurance though, normally get good discounts in my experience lol. who do you recommend for insurance? 29 Years old, 10 years NCB, earnt mainly on jap imports. Car is garaged, and will be standard - the rear spoiler change and front bumper, im trying to use stock parts, but not sure how possible it will be. but near enough standard lol.
  19. Nice, Im ecstatic, as you can imagine. got a short shopping list though. Speedo Spoiler Lights Just need to find a decent front bumper, I want something subtle, but new, so there is much less work to do on it before painting. Ideally somehing as close to 99 spec as possible.
  20. Your right gary, it was rubber, it was a bit squishy lol. its a much darker red than yours. I always loved them in red, but never seen the deep cherry red before. its a gorgeous colour, and im glad I didnt buy the first car I saw. The targa top has all the original linings. And the car has some strange optional extra's including what looks like an aerial on the front bumper, but its actually a parking aid, which comes up at the press of a button, so you can see where the front corner of the passenger side is, in relation to any obsticles. This will be removed when I change for a faclift front bumper. The headlights look to be glass, not sure if this is standard, but was told it is.
  21. Do I need to change the entire Clocks, or can I just change the faces? I dont want to delimit it, as I would like to keep it counting in kilometers, so I have a true reflection of the cars mileage.
  22. OMG, I dont know how to start this thread, Im just smiling ear to ear. I got myself a fantastic Bargain imo. I just bought a totally standard 300ZX Auto Twin Turbo. The vehicle was purchased brand new by Mr Masayuki Iwamoto in Yokkaichi Japan in 1993 (although the vehicle was manfactured in October 1992) Mr Masayuki Iwamoto moved to the UK in 1995 for an indefinate period as part of his work for the Japanese Equilivent of the Ministry of Defense. He has been based at The Royal Navy Air Support Base in Yeovilton since. Unfortunately he has to return to Japan in 2 months time, and has thus sold his home and is currently renting, and has also sold his beloved, 1 owner from new 300ZX - due to a quoted export back to Japan cost of just over £2,700. The underside of the car has been stripped and resealed every 3 years since being in the UK, due to him being warned of the salt on the roads. The car has done 64,283 Kilometers since new, and was never converted to miles on import in 1995. It still reads Kilometers on the speedo, and apparently did not need changing for the MOT due to the age of the car when it was imported. The car is still limited to 180KPH, and the only modification is a turbo timer. at 41,000 Miles the car had a full servie including all belts at a cost of £820, this was in 2005. The car has since done a further 23,000 miles with regular servicing every 6 months, despite not being used much over the 7 years since its full service. There is no oil, wet patches, or stains in the engine bay, and is suprisingly clean under the bonnet for its age. The belts all feel very tight and have no squeals. On startup, there was no need for throttle, and it sared immediately from cold, with very little smoke from the exhaust, which was totally cleared up within around 30 seconds. With the ignition of, the boost gauge sat in the middle at 0, once started, it moved all the way to the left as far as it could, oil pressure was very low when idling (around 10-15 psi) but shot up when driving casually, to around 45psi, I didnt really think to check oil pressure under full boost, as I was too busy watching the road and the boost gauge - which almost went all the way to the right of the dial, but not quite. The car pulled like a train to be honest. I did leave the car running about 20 minutes after the test drive, whilst speaking to Masayuki trying to listen out for any noises, smell anything or see any smoke, none of which appeared. I wasnt sure how to test the gear box on an auto, but it felt VERY smooth, soon as I switched to overdrive, the revs dropped, as you would expect, and the power and hold features worked with no issues. I never intedned to break any speed limits, and pulled onto a clear dual carriage way at about 30kph and put my foot down for what felt like 5 seconds, and the next thing I knew I was at around 130kph. as the road was clear, I slowed down to 80kph, quite quickly, there was no noise or wobble in the steering wheel, indicating discs and pads seemed upto scratch. The Tyres all look brand new, but are apparently just over 1 year old, and have covered almost 3000km. The Tool kit is in the boot, complete and unused, as is the original Jack and spare wheel. The flare is in the passenger footwell. And the car still has the original ultra thick pile 300ZX Carpets, which again look new. the seats had cushions on them, which have apparently always been used - and it shows as there is no wear and tear to the seats. There was no dents in the bodywork (at all) however, there is a few swirl marks in the paint, and peeling paint on the spoiler, and wing mirrors. The car is like a really deep cherry red. As the car is mechanically sound, I will next invest in a full body respray, in is original colour, bringing it up like new. I will also invest in 99 spec rear lights, and a later spec front bumper before I do the respray. I will definately have to strip the rear spoiler, and wing mirrors and respray them though. Anyway, I bought the car today, and am due to collect it in a couple of weeks, when I have been paid (so I can pay the remaining balance) Like I said, I am a very happy chappy :D - and officially a fellow Fairlady Z Owner.
  23. Classic, did you tell her it was the turn of the other lady in your life seeing as she has gone to so much effort with all the bling for a make over :P
