  1. lol Rob, what you doing with your old bits? want to loan them to me? lmao. So I can get them powder coated, then u can sell my old ones when they come of the car :P
  2. I do 100 miles a week, for work alone. so obviously we going to have different amounts of usage. I have no idea on running costs. taking it easy, how much you reckon to do 100 miles? Im thinking about £30 which is 30p a mile. or am i being totally unrealistic? The MKII Focus RS seems to do around 24mpg when you take it easy, and 12 mpg when you push it.
  3. I can see a couple of bits under there I will polish for you when we catch up too :P
  4. that looks smart. How expensive is powder coating something like that? Would love to know if they could do it in AH3 Cherry red. Just need to polish the throttlebody housing's between the pipes and the plenum now :P
  5. quite possibly, obviously its expemt from road tax, however the government do like to tax everything that comes into the country. Its not worth "under valuing" for import incase something does go wrong. I think your best of calling a company like the one I posted, just to check if you would face an import tax. be interesting to know. What car you go for? Make / Model.
  6. Rob, that looks awesome. gives me so much inspiration, Where did you get the plenum powder coated? got any pics of it?
  7. even Z31 had some type of gauges in the center lol
  8. also do a few meets at haynes motor museum, once you paid to get in once, keep your receipt, and you can go back unlimited times for 365 days free of charge :P
  9. O, thats longleat, I know the woman who runs the PR department for them, so I always do car meets there, and get free entry for everyone, saying that people will come and buy food and drinks, tour the house and safari park, so would be daft to charge entry to get cars in lol. When you go as an organised meet, they let you in 45 mins before opening (about 9.15am) so you can get photo shoots outside the house in the no parking zones. I will arrange another meet there in the summer for Zeds. its like half hour from my house, I got a big enough house if anyone travelling long distance needs somewhere to sleep lol.
  10. yes, Tyre Pressures are 1, which should be checked on ALL cars, not just zds obviously. I never use air in my tyres anyway, I use nitrogen, as its helps with grip and raction, and is much "thicker" than air, meaning it doesn seem to seap through the tyres over time. (you can get tyres filled with nitrogen at a local tyre center for around £1 a wheel) obviously tyre tread needs checking, brake pads, all bulbs as its something you dont normally notice when a brake light is out. other than general oil checks etc, you need to check window wash levels, always runs out when you need it most. obviously Im naming general stuff, Im not Z experienced yet to know of any particulars, so this guide will be great. Will it come in the same sort of format as a vehicle inspection PDi?
  11. I need to get a rotary polisher I think lol. all polishing I have done is by hand. and such hard work. here is more of the ST500. (you asked for it! LMAO)
  12. but I found this place: http://www.1stcarimports.co.uk/ who can supply cars to requirements, or can assist in importing a car you already found....
  13. got this of Yahoo! Q&A Shipping will cost around £1,500 - £2,000.. Import duty, V.A.T. and brokerage charges will add around 30% to the value, including the shipping charge (Example - if the car costs you £10,000 and the shipping charge is £1,500, you will pay about £3,450 in fees, before the car will be released to you by Customs). If the car is less than 10 years old, it will have to pass an I.V.A. test at a V.O.S.A. testing station, before you can get it registered. This could cost you anything from £500 to around £2,000, depending on what need to be modified or replaced (and how much you know about the I.V.A. test), to make it road legal in the U.K. Insuring it will cost you at least 50% more than you think, because the car is a left hand drive, private import. This means insurance companies regard it as a very high risk and they will load your premium accordingly. If you are under 25, it is unlikely that you will get insurance for it at all. As the first answer correctly states, unless it's a very, very rare or unusual car, it's simply not worth it.
  14. sorry, yes, I meant love your triple gauge pod groover, got mixed up as steams quoted it lol
  15. I like my CDs too, However, I used to like to have a cd player in the car with an SD slot. its discreet (if behind the fascia) and you can fit at least 1000 albums on one card, - no need for a disc changer, you can read names of albums, artists and songs on screen, and it means your beloved CDs dont ge scratched, or thrown around and missplaced. something like this: http://www.pioneer.eu/uk/newsroom/news/news/dehp4100sd_sdcard/index.html
  16. lmao, mate, she is a stunner, a true fairlady :D If thats before the wash and polish, well I cant imagine how she must come up. out of interest, do you use a dual action polisher, or is it all by hand? and what polish do you use? I have Meguiars snow foam, clay bar, paint cleaning polish, general polish and carnabau Wax, which brings up a mirror finish on black. but I do it all by hand and it takes about 8 hours :( however, doing it by hand, I had no chance of losing the orange peel effect in the paint :( Close up pic here:
  17. Steams, Love your triple gauge pod, and if daZvert is unable to make me a magical ipad bezel, then any pics to help in assisting to make a double done fascia will be great, hopefully I can make a guide to with step by step instructions and pics.
  18. +1 and does it fit flush into a custom panel, as it looks like its so flush its under a piece of glass! lmao. Also daZvert. How much would u charge to do me one if I supply a new iPad for it. assuming there is somesort of headunit or amp behind the ipad, for delivering audio to the speakers?
  19. Hey everyone, trying to come up with some interesting ideas. Just want to see what has already been done though. So pleas post up pics of your center console / stereo surround bezel and headunit setups. Do you have a neat single din, a fold out single din? a customised fascia for double din, genuine double din fascia setup? single din head unit and single din audio processor? Gustom gauges, all pics modded or not appreciated. Would like to see whats already out there! I would love a double din, with touchscreen and digi gauges like on the R35 GTR, if not, maybe a single din nav fixed nav (not fold out type) with a single din gauge pod setup, for 3 gauges, above or below the stereo.
  20. f*** me, thats gotta hurt, on a brighter note, reckon we gould get him to do high jump for us in the olympics?
  21. Red, Eats everything, thats due to the increased throttle body size, sucking everything in, and insane compression levels, crushing it, spitting it out the exhaust. Red is rapido. (except ferrari red obviously, as renault blue and mclaren chrome are much faster lol) For those who dont get the las comment, try watching F1, its great :P
  22. looks to be quite sought after mate. Best bet imo, keep eye on ebay (.co.uk and .com) aswell as getting wanted ad put up on here and any other Z sites you might be on. Sorry its not a dfinitive answer, but I think you will be hard pushed to find a new one.
