  1. Anyone know where I can find this info? Used search feature but nothing :( Im sure I saw it somewhere, Ideally, would like to work out the date of manufacturer as DVLA say its first registered Feb 1990 and one owner from new, however Masayuki insists its a 1993 as he bought it new himself in Tokyo in the March of 1993. Thanks in advance.
  2. :cursing: This is taken from: http://www.radardetectors.co.uk/police_speedtraps.htm
  3. ok, the guys over on the Jag XF forum have tested speedo variances, and it isnt 10% out on all cars by the looks of it. here are their results: MPH = Cruise control setting 30 = 33 40 = 43 50 = 54 60 = 64 70 = 75 Km/H = Cruise control setting (MPH) 40 = 27 50 = 34 60 = 40 70 = 46 80 = 53 90 = 59 100 = 66 110 = 72 120 = 79 130 = 85 140 = 91 Also seen this on a few forums, but need to try get it confirmed:
  4. OK I was pretty sure it was 10% when comparing Sat Nav GPS speed to dials on the latest cars I've had in the last 3 years ST500, Megane Cabriolet, DS3 and Ibiza FR. But I know you cant be prosecuted for 32 in a 30, its defo minimum of 33. maybe thats where I got my 10% from. Will have a looky up on the tinterweb and see what info I can find.
  5. Very generous resolution from Jeff there, above and beyond whats expeceted of him both by members and by the law, Im would hope Vijay is more than pleased with the proposed resolution. Granted things could of been handled better from the first email, but Jeff has stepped up beyond the mark. :thumbup1: to all the constructive comments made, and to the resolution offered.
  6. looking great mate. cant believe it was laid up for 11 years!
  7. I would be pi55ed off. rebel yes. but looking from both sides, Zedworld has worked on the car, and had it there several weeks. If a service is not carried out correctly, As per the sale of goods act, the purchaser must offer the seller of the service / parts an option of: a) a repair (in cases of faulty parts) b) replacement (of part or of service not carried out as advised) c) a refund (on return of part or for service not carried out as advised) It is then solely the sellers decision, a repair of faulty parts can only be provided if it doesnt cause inconvenience to the purchaser. If the seller is unable to offer replacement parts or recarry out the services for any reason whatsoever, they must then give the refund. Im just stating contractual law, not taking sides in any way shape or form. nope mate, my zed defo 100% rust free. not a single gram of it. unless there is a bit under the old rubber spoiler.... got me thinking now grrrr.
  8. spedos are normally 10% out, not sure if this applies to the zed, but all cars these days are set to read 10% higher than your actually going. i.e 33=30 77=70 and 186=167.4 (much more realistic imo) mine went over 100kmh twice on the A303 which is 62mph lmao - Genuinely other than that never been over 60 in it lmao.
  9. I have never heard another bad word about zedworld. And despite being a potentially major mistake not noticing the sills, it wasnt major as fortunatley the OP noticed it before going to the bodyshop, which was always intended anyway - and whether or not Jeff had noticed the Sills, he would not of been doing anything about them anyway. Therefore even if it wasnt noiced by the OP, the bodyshop would of noticed it, and costs wouldnt of varied in any manor whatsoever. I understand the OPs comment along the lines of "If that was missed what else could of been missed" I would feel the same. However, a refund is not a viable option. I feel the only viable option the business could offer, is to do a complete health check, as a goodwill gesture. I have no rust on my car whatsoever, as its been kept in a dehumidified garage since arriving in the UK. I think if my sills were gone, I would look at changing my car. But as I have only driven it twice since owning it, Im not "emotionally attached" like most owners here :s
  10. Well he has sent you a new radiator bracket and bolt FOC from what I can make out, and despite not remembering whether it was himself or his colleague or if it was even like that when it arrived at the garage, I think he has taken responsibility for it in one way or another by replacing it. Which could also be taken as an appology so to speak. Getting any garage or workshop to say "sorry, I did this and should of done this" is a hard thing to do - as it is admitting liability, which could turn round and bite them on the butt.
  11. Personally, I wouldnt of posted it all on here. However, there are simple templates for letters about raising complaints about services provided and goods received, which are normally followed up by a small claims court. Only issue is now, that there is a lot of he said she said so to speak, and a dozen emails without any legal clairty, and due to the time which has passed, there isnt much you could do legally on a vehicle of this age and specification, as its durability as a whole would be seen as incredibly short. The Work could be carried out on 1st of may, and you could be driving down a country lane on the 2nd and it could over heat, have a turbo failure, or start missfiring, this would be hard to prove if it was anything to do with the work carried out or just general wear and tear on the vehicle - which cant be picked up, untill it has failed. I also note you never mentioned Jeffs Name in your original posts, which is also good, as it could be seen as slander. I think Jeff Mentioned in one of the emails he has sent you a new rad bracket and bolt, I can see how it would slip his mind whether he was responsible or not with the amount of work he does. On a plus note, looks like custom exotics have made a great job of your seals. And fortunately you did find it before getting the respray done. This kind of makes a lot of the above statements a "what if?" scenario, which would count for nothing in the British legal system. Im glad another Z32 is going back onto the road, thats always good to hear, and I hope you have more luck with it from now on in. I speak with Jimmer in Bristol, who I would always get to do work for me on the zed, and he knows what he is talking about, he is like a Z32 Guru. I must also add that he Mentioned Jeff at ZedWorld is very specific and detailed in his work. Unfortunately things can be missed in moments of distraction or even tiredness, and everyone is entitled to make a mistake - unfortunately for you it was on your car, that somethings werent noticed. I think even if it was all complained about in the correct manner, all a small claims court could do is ask Jeff to re-carry out the inspection which you paid for, but being 200 miles away, I dont think this is going to be a feasable option :(
  12. lmao. I guess it needs to e much sronger, as the original magnet on a stick, will be magnetised to something else trying to stop you picking it up. my tools tend to be titanium, which is not magnetic, so I have no need for a magnet on a stick :s
  13. I like the standard wheels too, but they are designed with a purpose in mind, to cool the brakes. like so....
  14. Markie, Im 28 and im with Footman James. As an only car on classic policy with limited mileage of 4000 a year, it was 291.80 fully comp. But when I said I have another car which is my main car, they dropped the price to £187.61 Fully Comp, including European Breakdown Cover but excluding a courtessy car, as I have use of another vehicle. But try Footman James (Speak to Dave Direct Line 0121 561 6250), Keith Michaels (Speak to Christian Wheatley Direct Line: 0845 013 8226) and Adrian Flux (Club Number: 01553 845 889) and finally Lynbrook Insurance (01277 206285)
  15. I know its a diesel, but thats a whole second faster than a Standard but remapped BMW 335D. Im not putting it down by saying that, because the remapped 335d is insanely fast. They are hitting 370bhp, but over 700nm Torque. And obviously its a £10k+ car for a high mileage used one. and a second is a long ime in quarter mile drag race. even a 6.2 monaro VXR struggles against the BMW 335D on the strip. Thumbs up Bob, and for all those who go on about 10 second cars due to films like fast and the furious, you need serious funds to get 10 second quarter miles. £100,000 in tuning alone excluding labour on most road cars.
  16. I must be very lucky. My fan isnt loud on start up, but is defo running (I can see it not hear it) Will get a vid up, as I think its standard, but doesnt sound it compared to these comments.
  17. its not about singing, is about politics, greece will vote for anone who might bale them out, austria always vote germany, its basically people voting for countries they like due to propaganda, not voing for singers. But I could be wrong, don know who won this year.
  18. Insane speeds, keeping back end straight with that much power must be insane
  19. Honesly never knew they had cooling probs. took mine for a long drive in the sun earlier this week, didnt take it easy the whole time, temp gauges never went above half way, not sure how reliable it is though. Engine never missed a beat, everything engine wise is 100% stock, popped bonnet when I got home due to PAS leak from hose, heat wasnt too bad from the engine, didnt "hit me" as I lifted bonnet so to speak.
  20. Thats Awesome, wouldnt try follwing up on those comments, some brillant puns there.
  21. Anyone broke down this morning? M5, between bridgwater and bristol, about 7.30 this morning? Partners Father saw a 300zx on hard shoulder, with bonnet up and an angry looking man :cursing: Didnt get colour or exact location, but will find out tonight!
  22. carefull what HID kit you buy. ask njmwolsley about problems that are 300zx specific. he did tell me, but i forgot exact details...
  23. you got to keep the original housing imo. but you could remove internal lenses and put something else in there with HIDs.....
