Keeping the car for those interested. Will be end of July when I give it everything it needs. and End of August I get skirts removed, car mads rear OEM fibreglass spoiler replacement, and full respray, rims, possibly leather trim too. Financially were sorted now, Went to bank to sort out Overdraft, and was reminded of an old savings accountI forgot about, and we're laughing :D Think it was all panic. But so pleased to be able to have a project to look forwards too!

my tt is slow!
On all my jap imports I always changed all oils every 4,000 miles, or 12 months, whichever came first. Hope you get it sorted. I know with my Auto, if you put your fott down, it takes about a second (well it seems like an eternity lol) to flick to a lower gear, then it just goes like a rocket. It honestly feels quicker than my 420bhp 200sx was. Once it starts accelerating, there is no stopping. Every up change is perfect, and seemless, just keeps going. But I still want a manual lmfao.

Same Mine just says its a Nissan. Doesnt even have model, let alone all the other stuff. says its Red. but thats it, no weight, power emissions etc on there.

hoping to keep it mate. I think you hit nail on head though. it is all panicking. Never had contract phone lol. But I have home phone, water, electric, gas rent etc which obviously always gets paid. Will speak with bank about possible overdraft. I think its the best option, as if I do have to end up selling up, when I get another, I doubt the issues will be so minor.

my prob roobabrb, is I have no credit history, so it could potentially be quite hard to get any sort of credit, especially in the middle of a job change, as you need to of been in your current employment a minimum amount of time normally. Im going to ride the wave so to speak, keep it up the inlaws, and just see what happens over next couple of weeks. If I have to let it go, wont do it at a loss, but wont be trying to make a profit either. that way worst case scenario it will go quickly. but for now. its staying where it is, with hopes that things improve.

lol @ steams. I will find a way to keep it. just stressing at the moment. like I said no overdraft or credit cards. literally only got £1900 left in the bank, and that has no chance of covering 2 months rent and bills. I should be able to sort o/draft. but not my ideal choice. defo not going credit card route though. Would sell the DS3, but trying to sell a car thats only 8 months old, privately is near on impossible. look at it this way, you wouldnt buy a car that age privately - you would buy it from a garage.

Z32bolt, I was hoping to get replacement hose from a breaker cheap to save on funds. if situation was better i would go for a new hydraulic hose being fitted to the current connectors. As for the exhaust, there is 3 or 4 minor leaks according to the mot test sheet. but not bad enough to fail the test. but leaking somewhere from center section and both rear boxes. I can get cat back from luke at zed world for 275 brand new. so costs arent insane. but its just little things. I want to keep it. misses dont think I should. Rob Hughes said its a great car, one of best unmolestered original examples he has ever seen, and that once my issues are sorted, there is nothing else that needs doing. All the belts are date stamped 2010 so thats a good thing. no grease or oil in engine bay. I gonna do everything in my power to keep the car. Missed the Royal Mail train on the bank holiday (for those of you who remember the film buster lol) Also did lottery this week, first time in 6 years lol. trying everything lol

I like that quote :D misses is saying otherwise though. Its only come up in convrsation today. so need to really talk it through and think about it hard. Just going to really struggle. And think rent will be unpayable :( going to talk with family and friends help make right decision. although, I think the right decision financially will be the wrong decision physically. thats why its a dilemna. If it was an abused example which Id had problems with over and over would be an easy decision. But seeing how many issues some zeds have, its making it really hard. Will be back in a few hours. Going to visit my car now lol. Its in the inlaws barn up he farm lol.

behave lol. I dont want to get rid of it, as you can probably tell im arguing with myself about what to do. When Rob Hughes come over, I told him I got it for a bargain, and he said a bargain in this condition, he would estimate two and half grand. I told him I paid less than half that lmao. We started it up from cold, for first time in 2 weeks and no smoke nothing. I keep looking for issues to try and help in my decision, only one I can come up with other than those listed is the plastic clip in the door lock has broken. Im looking for issues ppl have on the forum, and trying to find them on my car to make the decision easier, but not finding any problems. Then Im thinking, well if I pay 1500 for a manual conversion, 400 for an exhaust, 50 for the PAS hose, ontop of the 1250 the car cost me, I could get a good manual for that in a couple of months. But then how many problems could I be faced with. I keep seeing cars on here with rotten sills. so jacked mine up with rob hughes, got axel stands out and got right under the car, nothing, looks like its recently waxoyled and no rust at all, just a little surface rust on bottom of the chassis arms at the front. nothing a wire brush wouldnt fix. grrrrr. Im going to go visit my zed, have a mess around, get an overdraft or something, I dont know, I dont want to sell, but might have to. Will go to bank tomorrow, see what I can do.

Due to personal circumstances. (Namely a change of job and having to start being paid monthly instead of weekly) I dont know if I can keep my Zed. I got it for a bargain price, and its mint. A few owners have said how good the paint is, although I want to respray it. Interior is perfect, like from the factory, nothing peeling or lifting, no fading, not a single scratch on any of the plastics even in the boot. No clips missing anywhere, inside or under the bonnet. totally complete car. I only have two problems with it, 1 the exhaust is blowing and 2 the lower PAS hose. It runs like a dream and sets my pulse racing. The thing is its an Auto, Do I sell up, when circumstances change in 2-3 months get a manual. Or do I struggle like mad, stressing myself out over funds for the next 2 months, not being able to drive it, as its Sorn (but MOT'd) then have to buy the exhaust, get a new lower pas pipe made up, tax it, reinsure it, do the manual conversion and respray. The car only cost me £1250 after I got a refund for the above listed issues, and I doubt I will ever find another in this condition with this mileage, with just one owner from new (not 1 from import, but actually 1 from new in 1990). Im going insane over this. My heads telling me I can get another, my hearts saying I will never get one in the condition so metaculously maintained. Its basically my only asset which I could shift quickly to raise funds to make life that bit easier for the next 2 months. Problem is its not a long time, but its a major sacrafice. and as my partner says, might not sound a long time, but its an eternity if our unable to cover rent etc...

if it doesnt find anything, prob best to keep it printed of and in the car, so you can run the test again immediately, if the problem ever repeats. At least you will be able to close down the number of possibilites.

you tried running the Autobox diagnostics test mate? Auto Transmission Diagnostic: If you automatic transmission is acting erratically, may it be shifting too hard, shifting too late, shifting too early, etc. try the diagnostic to isolate the problem. The diagnostic, like the main computer diagnostic, may show an error code if it reads a sensor or circuit that is not within factory specs. If the problem is mechanical, the diagnostic won't show it. If it's electrical, then the diagnostic gives a general idea where to start looking to correct the performance. Procedure: 1. Have the engine at normal operating temperature, in P with the overdrive switch on. 2. Start engine. The AT light should go out after 2 sec. {Mine never came on lol but test still works} 3. Turn the ignition off. 4. Move selector to drive D by using the Push Release button. If not equipped, use the brake pedal 5. Set overdrive switch to OFF. 6. Wait 2 seconds and turn ignition switch ON. 7. Wait 2 seconds and move selector to 2. 8. Set overdrive switch to ON. 9. Move selector to 1. 10. Set overdrive switch to OFF. 11. Depress accelerator pedal fully and release it. 12. The codes will begin to flash. There�s one long flash that signifies the start of the sequence. Following should be 10 short flashes. Then it repeats. Error Codes: All 10 flashes the same = No error codes detected. 1st flash longer than others = Revolution sensor is shorted or disconnected. 2nd flash longer than others = Speed sensor circuit is shorted or disconnected. 3rd flash longer than others = Throttle sensor circuit is shorted or disconnected. 4th flash longer than others = Shift solenoid "A" circuit is shorted or disconnected 5th flash longer than others = Shift solenoid "B" circuit is shorted or disconnected 6th flash longer than others = Overrun clutch solenoid circuit is shorted or disconnected 7th flash longer than others = Lock-up solenoid circuit is shorted or disconnected 8th flash longer than others = Fluid temperature sensor is disconnected or A/T control unit power source circuit is damaged. 9th flash longer than others = Engine revolution signal circuit is shorted or disconnected 10th flash longer than others = Line pressure solenoid circuit is shorted or disconnected All the same with no long start flash = Battery low, been disconnected, or control unit has just been reconnected. you wont sell mate, current market is crap. even with 40k receipts. you still wouldnt get 5k for it. wait till recession is over and people arent all broke, and can afford fuel again, then the price WILL go up and you might make 8 or 9k for an example as good as yours.

lmao. My misses said to me "you cant get your manual gearbox or respray till I got my Mini Cooper S" They are all the same! Daz, we got spare double room mate, and Im of that weekend, Rob Hughes is 15 mins from me, Yowser must be about the same, so is Eggs, and Jimmer is about half hour away. looks like Z32Bolt aint far from here either. Loads of us in SW mate. You could say its Zed Central :P

lol, well thats pretty much our daily life down here. when you planning on going? If I arranged a meet at longleat and got at least 6 Zeds going, I can get us all free entry. saving £20 a head. But if you wanted to do safari, tour the house or go on the rides, or the barge thats extra - as is everything these days Longleat river Safari: Longleat mini train tour: Longleat gardens: and if understandably you dont want to drive the zed through the monkeys and lions, theres always the guided safari tour: I should be a sales rep lmao. Or a UK Travel agent, reckon I could come up with some sweet itenairys getting paid to plan holidays and test them lol.
