  1. the hexis vinyls have a 10 year guarantee not to fade or peel. which when you look at it, is better than any garage will offer you on a respray...
  2. impressive colours here: and the carbon wraps: White: Gloss Black: Matte Carbon:
  3. well, the wrap seals the car, if there is any water under there, which would cause rust, the wrap would have bubbles. - fortunately water cant get under the wrap. trying to get my head around the targa drain holes though. not sure if it would provide a weak spot in the wrap or not. I was thinking of maybe a candy apple red wrap - much cheaper than a respray, which is fully reversible, and protects the original paintwork underneath anyway. also, no problems getting a colour match if it was to get ripped etc, as you can just change a panel. It is normally guaranteed against rips and tears as it is pretty strong. but if someone was to key it and rip it, wouldnt take much to put right if that makes any sense. Plus candy apple red, is still red, so no need to inform DVLA if I get my door shuts and bonnet etc done at the same time.
  4. Anyone ever considered doing this to their car?
  5. Another option, post a threa on these forums, you will get specific legal advise from multiple advisors who specialise in consumer issues. a) it was a company you bought from, they pretty much closed down and reopened the next day under a different name b) you never took delivery of goods as they were not as described c) you never received your refund
  6. Best route imo. If it can be solved he is the man. he would be able to link the multiple trading names legally and possibly get a resolution. Havent heard back from my sister yet as she has been studying, but I believe its holidays now, so I will collar her when she goes back to our mums house lol
  7. Man I loved my s14 200sx lol. could I choose between it and my zed? nope :( very funny video. but I think you could arguee which was better all day long. Guess the 200sx is easier to control hence its use in drift championships, and cheaper to run, defo cheaper to maintain, but dosnt have quite the rarity of the z32 lol
  8. Sounds like a proper bunch of cowboys. Who seem to know what they are doing - In a bad way of course... Best importer I know is New Era Imports. They imported the Orange and black Veilside RX7 from Tokyo Drift, a guy in Bristol owns it, but has sold a lot of parts of on exchange basis, i.e chromed engine parts sold for cash plus OEM parts to go back on, I know his as a friend of mine bought most of the chromed parts from the engine bay lol. other than body kit and seats, the car was 100% standard bar a greddy air intake. and a fake NOS bottle lol. Will defo pass info on to sister though. hopefully she can make some sense of this.
  9. Cheers Rob. if you got a trolley jack might be worth popping it in the boot so we can check for play in rear wheels again. I cant seem to find any play, but I was only jacked up a little of ground level withthe OEM jack lol. If you dont have one, dont worry, prob just lift it up with a tractor lol.
  10. Thats a proper tough one, as John Brams was selling the goods, but you paid Karol Kinly, which technicaly means you have made a contractual agreement with her to provide the vehicle. It sounds to me like major misrepresentation and by the sounds of it, planned. Have you spoken with trading standards? as its over £5,000 it wont be able to be settled in a small claims court - even if John Brams could be held accountable. Im sure you have already spoken to a solicitor. I will copy and paste above info to my sister in the next few days. She is a qualified Lawyer, but back at Oxford Uni, studying to be a barrister, she is pretty ruthless with things, and could probably argue the pope into becoming an aethiest lol. Anyway, hopefully we can find something that helps you out. Your a better man than me, I would of been arrested by now if some one did the dirty on me that bad. Will defo pass it on for further advice. I so hope we can solve this! I love catching rip of merchants. Dom on that TV programme would love this case, a company which goes into insolvency and basically opens up again, with a different owner, namely their partner, sureley premises and stock etc must of been transsffered from one to the other? if so, debts and bills would of been transffered too.
  11. Lol I cant take mine far lol. its at inlaws farm, in a barn, big enough for 30+ cars on its own lol. its at bottom of glastonbury tor. not really much to do round here though :(
  12. John Brams could be solely responsible, Steve advised it was John Bram's car for sell, he was the legal owner and only he had rights to sell. Was the car registered to John Brams, or to several sided imports? or is this unknown? that could be the decider on the whole issue. Was payment made in cash, loan, debit card, cheque or credit card? I ask as if it was a credit card, the credit card company are legally responsible to resolve the issue, Same if there was finance on the car. If it was a cheque, was it payable to John Brams or Several sided imports? and if it was a debit card, your bank should be able to trace if it went to John Brams Bank, or Several sided imports. With cash it could be hard to prove, as a receipt would more than likely state it was several sided imports. Will be back soon, any additional info would be great.
  13. here is basic overview mate: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?161733-Contractual-Law-When-buying-Goods-new-or-used-within-the-UK I will be back in a few hours to read through your post and give specific advice, but got to head out for now. will defo check it out though :D
  14. Hi Rob, Just spoke with Jimmer, think there is a prob with my Hicas. or something at the rear of the car. He advised a good option, would be to get you an experience TT owner, to take the car for a spin, and let me know if it is right or if something is defo wrong, before getting him down from Bristol to check it out. If you could get back to me, arrange something that would be highly appreciated. you can email me HERE Cheers Ryan
  15. Just advice that is worth more than you could imagine - This will cover you for almost every purchase you ever make. This info is taken from a direct.gov site dedicated to buyers rights: For advice on any of the above, you can call Trading Standards, Now run by Citizens Advice Bureau: 08454 04 05 06 Below I have linked template documents for making official complaints. Be very precise in writing, i.e if you were offered a refund, and the seller changed their mind to offer a repair without discussing with you, dont mention in a letter that they changed their mind, just advise it was agreed on xyz date, that this would be the resolution. keep letters short and sweet as possible, as they will be used if taken to the small claims court (which you as a buyer would not have to attend - just the seller, if they do not pay up or make a suitable resolution - which is ammicable) Letter Templates are HERE please use the Complain about goods template for Misrepresentation of Goods, adjusting accordingly. And always include a copy of the original advert highlighting misrepresentation. If a seller doesnt say something works, its hard to prove they knew it didnt work when advertising. If they say its 3 years newer than it actually is, then its obvious Misrepresentation - which can not be denied.
  16. will keep eye out for your thread jap.slapper. and the contract is between you and the person who takes payment from you directly. thats the best part of getting parts / vehicles through an importer. I was rying to get a full refund on my car, as its 3 years older than advertised. Seller has been in touch with me today following a letter I sent by recorded post about it being 3 years older than advertised, and a few faults I found. He is now offering to pay for all my repair work, which is 50% of what I paid for the car, so will prob most definately keep it now.
  17. Awesome Vijay. if you have a linky to your other posts about bodyshops etc, would be a good read - as its something I need doing. I dont mind travelling 200 miles if it means I got a top notch job. glad your please with custom exotics, will have to look them up :D
  18. Vijay, did you say your having a full body respray? or just a new kit blended in? If it is a full body job, are you going with OEM colour or a different one? Just wondered costs involved. as Im hoping to get mine done.
  19. I know Vijay, and I sincerely feel for you, I think the solution on a morale basis was a worthy one. But your original Post wanted to know your rights, my opinion is not reflected by the law. and I have to agree with 90% of comments here - and I would be seriously upset to say the least if it was my car. Sorry if it felt like I was imposing an opinion. never my intention, just trying to be factual. Glad you found it though, and im sure that your very pleased with the end result. :thumbup1:
  20. unfortunately only affects buyers and sellers within the UK. However, you have long distance selling regulations by purchasing something from an international seller. In the first instance, you have from 7 days of arrival to reject goods for a full refund, at your cost of shipping - if non faulty (i.e you can send them back as you dont like the colour) if the goods received are faulty the seller is responsible to arrange collection from you, at their cost, and to provide a replacement, or full refund including delivery charges. Again they may offer a repair aslong as it doesnt cause considerable inconveniance to the buyer - i.e anything over a 28day turnaround would be seen as an inconveinience to the buyer. You also never need to buy extended warranty for any electrical device in the UK. As contractual law (i.e statutory rights which are always unaffected) state an item must be durable. I bought an Imac in 2003, and the screen died in 2008, Apple declined to do anything about it, Durability on electrical items for non commercial use is classed as 6 years. I sent them a kind email advising this, and spoke to trading standards, so they had a reference of it, incase I had to take it to a small claims court (cost of £38 fully recoverable) Within 3 hours of sending the email, I had a nice call from an apple representitive that booked me in for a repair, advising they were sorry for the lack of support previously offered, and that if it could not be repaired at my local apple store (Cribbs Causeway Bristol) within 48 hours, they would provide me with a new imac to an equilivent spec of the one I already had, i.e if mine was a baisc model, they would supply the new basic model, mid or top of the range dependent on what mine was classed as at original purchase. They repaired it the next day while I waited, putting in a new screen and a new motherboard, and supplying 90 days warranty at the same time. had similar issue with a sofa from DFS. lost its shape in just 11 months, they wanted to repair it, I advised this wasnt a viable option as the problem would reoccur if repaired to original spec, so they agreed to replace it with a different sofa, we just paid the difference and had to wai 8 weeks for delivery lol. If you ever get a few hours spare, is worth studying contractual law, as you would be amazed at your rights as a buyer. HTH.
  21. Statements are obvious when related to what is expected as per my last post. I have studied contractual law, and it was a generous resolution, above and beyond what the law would expect. legally he would only have to offer a refund or to recarry out the work. He has offered both, instead of either or, hence my comment. Hope that clears things up regarding the statement matey. PS. I love your car! Looks like it wants to eat pedestrians and spit them out the other end lol.
  22. hmmm need to get the Vin number now lol. its not on the V5, V5 is very vague. States its a nissan, no model name at all, not even a colour. Vin number area just shows chassis number, which makes no sense vs the how to read vin link above :s
  23. ok, Im going to go and visit my Zed. do a little investigating lol. Chat soon :P
  24. Good point. Car not at my house though, its up the inlaws farm lol - will check it out if I get no response, eitherway, I need to prove it to DVLA so I can use my private reg on the car :(
