  1. RIGHT! can anyone tell me what bumper this is 111martin111 had one for sale not long ago but hes not sure what brand it was :( can anybody help as its the only front end i'd like to change mine for
  2. catch 10! :P :P i do have 1 filter knocking around.. any preferred port to put a filter on?
  3. pics please peeps, especially of immediate pipework too. thinking of going for it but want to see about space/whats visible/whats not. so what have you got :)
  4. i agree about flux, but ironically, my RX7 was cheaper to insure with them MODIFIED than it was standard. that was a 1994 and qualified as a classic car policy, a friend of mine has a 95 FTO on a classic policy. I dont think its so much about the year now, but more about how many of them are left i'm guessing! i'm 28, pay £320, 1992 TT LWB, mods declared, garaged, CAT 1, 4k miles per year (again, wont get near that) with sureterm.
  5. yea, i did see them, but i've heard of the elements in the filters themselves breaking down and stuffing up the solenoid/valve that way so went without
  6. to be fair to it, it never broke down, never had compression issues. the only problems it had were a few check valves i had to replace (bought the car with 2nd turbo not working, turned out to be a £10 fix) and the thing ran like a tractor one day as the MAP sensor hose had popped off. other than that, i didnt have a problem. you've gotta realise with these cars, you only ever hear the horror stories.. the ones that work are never talked about :) they have a funny twin sequential turbo system too. 2x small turbos, one to spool up faster, then at 4.5k rpm the inlet from the second is opened. felt amazing when the 2nd turbo came on song, red line at 8k too. :) tax was nice at £130 quid for the year too lol
  7. yea, the back ends a tad funky now haha. not my first high powered motor though, survived the rx7 twin turbo for 4 years, but the zed is definitely quicker now with this and the ecu sorted, plus she developes a shed load more torque. delighted with the results, doesnt quite cover it :) :) :)
  8. got my hks evc 3 all sorted and mounted now :)
  9. indeed, pulleys seem to be a hot topic right now - think i need to replace timing belt soon anyway too. :(
  10. grooved discs then maybe? but not drilled. think they're about the same price anyway
  11. without going for a big upgrade, have you guys got anything to say on drilled/grooved discs such as http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300ZX-3-0-Twin-Turbo-Front-Rear-Drilled-Brake-Discs-/300472173657?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3A300+ZX&hash=item45f5898459 or, better off with a decent brand solid disc? my current discs, although not showing heaps of wear/lip, are starting to cause vibration under heavy braking at say 60-70mph and wondered if i'd be better off with vented/driled to try and prevent warping in whatever set i get next opinions pliz!
  12. step 1 - i went down the boost controller route. managed to pick up a used HKS EVC 3 for £85. cheaper option would be jets, but i'd rather have a toy to do it than jets, and it gives you more flex in the long run to fiddle with the boost. step 2 - ecu is a pre-mapped stage 1 tuned chip on a socketed ecu and i got this sorted via a mate. The chips are cheap to buy, but the socketting and/or finding a socketed ecu is a pain, and you need to make sure you have had a few things spec'd up on the car like intakes/exhaust/decat/boost controller(or jets) i'm still planning on having this ecu mapped/dyno'd but not straight away. want to uprate the intercooler setup before i do that, make the most of it as remapping is expensive.. and everytime you change something, in theory, you should do it again.
  13. didnt realise it was possible to do this without disturbing the belt?
  14. let us know what he does re-timing marks
  15. just had a similar section replaced on mine, but the corrosion was not as extensive as you appear to have fella. cost me £300 inc vat to have the panel cut, new one formed and welded, small area of rust at the top of the arch cut and welded too, and the whole panel resprayed.
  16. does your exhaust have a mixer pipe?
  17. could they be leaking from the top of the pipe? can u see that far up? might not be disconnected at the base.
  18. could you not make your own mark before fitting? i noticed these earlier. lots of good things to be said about funky pulleys.
  19. depends what centre bore your alloy wheel is.. the 300zx hub should always be the same, but the Outer diameter of the spig ring should match the inner edge of your alloys.
  20. just remember fella, we can give all the opinions in the world, but you should just do what YOU want!
  21. gotta say, i think that would look lush then mate. be bold!
  22. underdrive pulley - got to do the belts at some point too anyway, and the pulleys gotta come off to fix a minor crank seal leak i do believe anyway. intercooler upgrade makes sense. still got the stockers. think i'd rather uprate the twin setup rather than go FMIC. keep the flow to the rad then ;) - rolandas.....be gone foul beast! made that mistake when i flogged the Rx7! not making it again!
