  1. When I pulled the trim away and looked behind the passenger seat in my SWB I found an electrical box. Not sure what it is for. Anybody got any ideas?
  2. I use these on the rear. no problems at all. I have not rolled the arches. should be fine for you mate...
  3. That sounds about right. In the evening, you just need a jacket cos it can get cold. makes sure you send us some pics...
  4. lol - bit of T-cut, should be fine... :headvswal
  5. Yeah Cambelts and cam seals, water pump, timing tensioner etc. BIG service. Next time, I will take you up on the offer Saz. Hell, I could have stayed in a hotel and taken us all out to dinner and it would still have been cheaper! lol
  6. About 8 hours in total!
  7. Darrel - it was St Albans Car Clinic. And no, I will not be going back there. my ass still stings from the rapage! :wack: I wish you could have done it for me duffers. Hell, I could have put you up in a 5 star hotel for a few nights and it would have still been cheaper! Only thing is I needed the service before I go round donington in March and I had no idea if you would be able to do it.
  8. Well I wasn't expecting to pay more than around £200 but I think I have muppet written on my forehead. with the labour for the few extras and not forgetting VAT it came to £600!!! EEeeek Saz you win a :duffer: for being closest. Yeah, at least I can drive it knowing that I wont get any detonation. I plan on connecting the stock solenoids back up so that I will have at least 9.5psi until I can sort it all out.
  9. Just got the zed back from the garage where it had a 60k service. I had bought all the parts myself all I paid them for was labour and a couple of litres of antifreeze. Oh, they also checked out my actuators/wastegates were operating properly. They were working, so to stop the overboosting they disconnected the EBC. So now I am back to safety boost! Guess how much that cost me?
  10. Well it is not bad service exactly, but you have not responded to my PMs since you agreed to do the 60k service on my zed. I have since found out that you will not be coming back down this way from other people and I have had to take my zed to someone else. I really did want you to do the service as I have heard such good things about your work. I'm not mad at you Andy (big hug!) but I would have liked a response to my last couple of PMs...
  11. OK, sounds a little daunting but I will give it a go!
  12. I'm going to give that a go when I pick it up later. 9psi is better than 7! :wack:
  13. I have the OS giken twin plate and I am happy with it. It is a little bit "on or off" and can be a little bit of a pain around town. It can also give a little bit of judder occasionally, but you learn to live with it. The worst thing about it is there is a rattling noise when you depress the clutch. I believe this is the spare middle plate spinning. It sounds a little like the clutch is falling apart! lol. Anyway, if you can't afford the carbon -carbon then go for the OS Giken, it is a really good clutch. HTH...
  14. Now you KNOW I am not trying to start an argument. But some people have been banned from this site for doing very little wrong. I'm not going to comment on the banning of zed world because I don't know that much about it. I think we should support traders on the forum but I have had bad service from Andy! What can you do? I feel like I am stuck between a rock and a hard place!
  15. Update - my mechanic has tested the actuators and wastegates with 8spi throught a compressor and both are working perfectly. he has disconnected the EBC and it is not boosting above 7psi, so I am back to safety boost! This is good news in a way as it means I don't have to pay to have the engine out, but it does not get me back to full boost. Will need to swap the EBC control unit for a known working one and see if that makes a difference...
  16. Somebody has spent a lot of time and money on both of those cars to make them look terrible. Just a case of going OTT...
  17. I have never had a problem with bulbs. Even Halfords stocks them. The sidelights are E501 and the dip bulbs are H3 (I think)...
  18. Well delete a few then! lol
  19. I am 99% sure it has OEM downpipes. They are not made in China are they?
  20. I know what you mean mate. mine is in the garage again right now. prob looking at engine out job! Grrr...
  21. I know that the actuators are very hard to change in situ, I really don't want to have to take the engine out, but it may be required. The mechanic is going to visually check the actuators first, making sure that the diaphrams are not split or anything simple. I have also asked him to check the wastegates with compressed air. I reckon it is more likely to be the actuators rather than the wastegates as these are so simple it is unlikely that they are obstructed. Stu - When JD helped me install the boost controller and designed a chip for me we checked the AFR readings and we are confident the injectors can cope with 16psi. Anyway, I will let you guys know what is going on when I have some news...
  22. I am fairly sure that I will need to replace my actuators, should have confirmation from the mechanic tomorrow. I think silverbullet is going to be able to help me out with some second hand stock replacements (thanks Mark) I want to be running around 16psi most if the time SO should I be looking at putting in some uprated ones or sticking with stock actuators? Thanks for the help...
  23. Oh Facial, that is bad luck, but like they say it could have been a lot worse. good luck sorting it out...
  24. good reaction time. I would love to be there on 16th March but I am going to be racing round Donington on that day. have to catch up with you later in the year Baldy (AKA Pete, lol)...
