  1. I have thought about selling a number of times but I know I will not be able to get what it is worth and I know I wont be able to find anything nearly as much fun to drive. good luck with the sale, and hopefully you will be back in a zed soon enough...
  2. I am away for nearly all of the weekend but maybe we could meet up on Sunday? at the Ace cafe or similar? I have your number and will give you a bell. Thanks again mate...
  3. I paid £6.99 for a single rose yesterday! I am in the wrong business I think! lol
  4. Oh Tom, that is great news. It is the main control unit (the bit that lights up with knobs and buttons! lol) that I need. I just need to try swapping mine for a known working one to see if that makes any difference. Will only need it for about half an hour. If it is OK with you, you can post it to my work address. All that means is that you will be running around at 7psi until you put it back in your car. Alternatively, we could meet up somewhere. Whatever is easiest for you. Thanks again...
  5. That is really sad news, I hope and pray that everything works out for Harry. If we can help in anyway just ask. Mike...
  6. Glad to hear that matey! I was eating my lunch when I read the bit about a bottle of gin and a knitting needle! nearly spat it all over the computer! I prefer to feed her a bottle of gin then push her down a flight of stairs. It never fails! lol
  7. come on guys someone must have a profec b spec II that they could lend me for an hour or so? PLEASE!

    PMSL, pete sort it out!
  9. Yeah tried that. I have found that turning it all off is not enough to stop it overboosting once it has started. I have to wait until it has cooled down properly (normally overnight) before it stops overboosting. I have an image in my head of the wastegate(s) getting hot and expanding when boosting more than 7psi and then getting stuck in a shut position. I also get a funny noise (like a small bell ringing in the engine bay) when the boost is 0 (i.e. not in vacuum or on boost). could this be the actuator? This still does not explain why it will overboost if the EBC is on even when the EBC settings are set to zero. Apart from trying a spare EBC unit I don't know what else to try! HELP! Aaarrgh...
  10. he now drives a scooby, which I think says it all! LMAO...
  11. Hi Eric, I have just finished checking all the vacuum lines including the main one runninng through the firewall and into the dash. All are in good condition, they are not kinked or pressed in any way. The reason I think it could be the actuators/wastegates is that after it has been overboosting I can turn off the EBC and it will continue to overboost until the car has cooled down again. Does this make sense? Has anyone got any other ideas? Thanks again, Mike...
  12. Hey Jaffa, did you ever give Martyn that envelope for £100? Or can I have it back? lol
  13. Just look at all that torque in the mid range! To say I want one of these a lot, is an understatement...
  14. Thanks Eric, I will have a look when I get a chance...
  15. LMFAO - yeah it is a good job, if you want to wait over 3 years!!! :headvswal
  16. For everyone's benefit. The problem is the engine can overboost when the EBC is turned on and the engine is up to temperature. I know it is not the settings on the EBC because these have been set by John Dixon, and it worked perfectly for about 6 months (running 16psi). If I run with the EBC off it will sit at 7psi all day long. If I turn it on, even with minimum settings it will overboost and detonate. I have had all the hoses checked and some replaced, I have tried using a known working solenoid and this does not help. I think the problem lies with the actuators/wastegates but I need to rule out the EBC main unit before I pay a mechanic to look around the wastegates. It's all a bit of a shag to be honest! Do you know anyone with a Profe B spec II who might be able to help? Cheers, Mike...
  17. Joel, we are on the same wavelenght, in the time I was gone I have PM'd him! lol I was just venting my frustration! Thanks for the advice...
  18. I agree with that sentiment, the amount of garages I have taken my two zeds to and they all let me down at some point or another. I used to go to z-tech but then their service fell apart. I have been to zedworld but they didn't give me any confidence that they knew what they were talking about. I have dealt with Martyn (ex of zen garage) and he is a fantastic mechanic but useless with time management (as shown by SMW1). I bought a load of parts knowing that Duffman would help me out, now he has got his own place up north and is not responding to PMs! I have used a fantastic guy in queensbury (faislal knows who I mean) but he can be very busy and a bit useless with time management too. I have been to Nissan (will not make that mistake again). I used to go to my local garage, who were cheap but used their brains (now closed!). I am getting fed up with it all TBH. There is only one person I would want working on my zed and that is John Dixon. The problem is he has his a day job, nowhere to work on zeds and lives miles away from me. What am I supposed to do? :wack:
  19. I'd be tempted to break it too. I know it is sad, but the cost of zeds these days, you could pick up a decent one for a steal. Good luck with it anyway mate...
  20. Thanks again Steve, I just tried to call but no answer, maybe too late now? I need to get hold of a boost controller in the next few days to try and diagnose the problems before I take it to a garage! can you help?
  21. Hi guys (& girls), Is there anyone who may be able to lend me the actual control unit for the Profec B spec II? I have already tested the system with a known EBC solenoid but this did not cure the problem. I need to test the actuall control unit I have for strange behaviour before I can rule it out as the cause of the boost problem. Thanks in advance. Mike...
  22. They wont do the service on my zed unless they supply the parts, the problem is I have all the parts already! they were also a little reluctant to try and sort the turbo issues I have. They were very polite though and recommended another place that should be able to help. "St Albans Car Clinic" Thanks again...
  23. Nice one Steve, yes it is the zed. I will look them up now. Cheers...
  24. Thanks Darrel, very useful! PMSL...
  25. Where is best to get my car serviced and my turbo issue sorted out? please help...
