  1. hmmm the actual nut that holds the top plate onto the shock itself, you should be able to lean on it pretty solid, if yo uare going to take shock apart get that top nut loose before you take the shock out to make your life easy... and DO NOT remove the top plate until you have taken the load off the spring.
  2. All i want is 3rd party to cover fire and theft and the damages on somebody elses vehicle. Rather than be paying off the ferrari i hit... ill fix my own car. i actually refuse to get full insrance for the fact they will write my car off for some minor damage, and i've put far too much work in to let them take it.
  3. Quick mechanical lesson here if you ever get new bushings pushed in always tighten them with the car on its weight, as if you tighten them up when its off the ground the first bump you hit is too much twist on it and you rip them instantly. you can do it with the wheels off just scissor jack the hub up until it is roughly the right height, you do end up fighting against the shock though so be careful if the car is on stands.
  4. Hmm stange for anything there to rattle... are your springs captive with the car jacked up or is the thing just sitting low as hell with no keeping springs? Are you sure its not the camber arms bushings? they are the usual suspect.
  5. I just called up AA insurance here to get a quote last night, they confirmed vehicle then asked my age.. (24) ... sorry sir we cannot insure you under 25 in that car..... uhhh why not? its classed as a high performance high risk vehicle... Its a non turbo one. Its still high performance. No it's not i purposely bought a non turbo one so i could insure it being under 25 years old, its not even a 200 horspower at the wheels car and weighs as much as moby dick. Please ease your tone sir get f***ked CLUNK
  6. Ahhh the land of the long white cloud... The rich in power, pushing the middle class lower so they work for less so they can make the rich who fund thier election campaigns more money. Greenies having a cry about mining all out untouched minerals saying we will destroy all our beautiful scenery, then in the same breath asking why we arnt growing as fast as australia and why did they survive the first recession so much better. Essentially the whole world is going down the shitter. All these politicians who are trying to save thier own slimey face, we've got "the smiling assassin" running NZ .... that presents so many problems. eventually if we dont start getting our minerals out, we are either going to go broke... or aussies minerals will run out and they will invade nz for ours... Or worse aussie minerals will run out just as we finally get our shit together, then the aussies will come take all the mining jobs. I could go on for pages about all of this but i'd be likely to kill somebody. :gun_bandana::cowboy:
  7. Anyways this is getting wayyy off topic so i shall not waffle on about houses
  8. Thats a bit paintful, im up at my fathers currently doing up his old villa we got, nz money $250k, so i guess £115k?... acre of land 4 bedroom kauri villa... out in the boo wops, had alot of work done, been repiled etc all the woodwork inside is restored, just gotta tidy up the walla, some roofing iron is on its way out, gotta replace some weather boards.... but right now were getting the barn up :cool3:
  9. Thankyou for leaving all your money here, please come again.
  10. So it was a public school then?
  11. Yeah its the whole room full of people at various angles thing. but in reality i prefer to be left alone instead of having people talk through something and say oh its just tv... it's like... yes and i can hear you any time
  12. I'm waiting a few more years before i go 3d as the new ones are coming, they are just trying to make manufacturing more cost effective. No glasses needed full jump out and grab you 3d, achieved by using 2 screens one behind the other, very clever tech. can't wait :D
  13. thats handy if you lose ya keys.
  14. They don't arc when the right way up its when he has the plug in the air with the coil pack top nearest the engine, so its just following its natural path to find an earth.
  15. Speaking of which, how do i fix that, mine was fine when in the car but got moved around the garage alot and now has the rev needle all the way around, will it comes right when i fire the car up again or whats the story? i had the car fully powered up and cranked it over (no fuel etc) and it didn't go back to 0.
  16. Still beats upto 800 quid on fleabay for a worn origional lol
  17. if they only do it when upside down it'll just be the spark heading for something to earth to, (think lightning) so yeah you sound find there, i do question if you perhaps have an earthing issue, or an ECU issue then, but the o2 sensors still seem like the prime suspect, i do always wonder if it could be poor adjustment of the TPS, given its only when you blip the throttle.
  18. Yeah i'll have to agree for the cost of a new engine its just not worth bothering. Sounds like he has a sister who takes good care of him in crisis!
  19. Theres a fella called dave govaard in aruba who makes copies of the titanium key blanks, exactly like the oem item and they are about 20 quid a pair from memory
  20. Am i reading this wrong or are you saying your coil packs are having spark come out the side of the shaft? not just out of the plug tip, if you've got spark coming out the side of ya coil pack shafts they're screwed.
  21. Put up a thread here, somebody will likely have one for ya.
  22. You'll have to yank the motor to get the turbos and headers off... Just put another motor in it mate. It will seriously be cheaper... And of course paint up the new motor all pretty while ya in there. then again i have nothing better to do. :whistling:
  23. Yeah he should be able to source a long block cheap enough? Rather than buy one with all the turbo's headers etc attached, probably work out cheaper than gaskets, head planing, etc etc.
  24. *which she did alot of with my money.
  25. Ex missus had a done up forester... Handled like a sack of potatoes and anything about 60mph you could feel it fighting againt the wind. Had a decent amount of go off the line for a turbo 2 litre to its credit, but really only good as a shopping wagon.
