guessing is now open !!
Not that I have an opinion myself but I was reading an engine build thread on the aus site where they were advocating mapping it immediately after a rebuild. The rings would get de-burred just from start-up and preliminary checks then get it on the dyno for some hard pulls and mapping to bed the engine in, then an oil change:pinch: How would you guys go about doing the whole process?

Big thanks to these guy's
I'll put these in the post this afternoon if I can, if not first thing tomorrow. I still think you should bite the billet and get a silicon set from Anthony :)

AFM Connection advise
I have just been around my whole engine bay and cleaned every connection possible with a blast of contact cleaner spray and then a rub back to fresh metal with one of these followed by another spray to clear any residue out then fill the connection with di-electrical grease. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fibre-Fiber-Pen-Fibreglass-Abrasive-Circuit-Contact-Cleaning-Pen-5-Refills-/130715069990?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Test_Measurement_Equipment_ET&hash=item1e6f39ae26 Very effective but wear gloves as the fibre glass splinters are painful! Anything I couldn't get to with this pen I used the spray and a small round file I could put into the connection gently and turn. AFM and PTU connections are the easiest to clean as they are so big, some of the others are real pigs

AFM Connection advise
Jeff will di-electrical grease prevent this from happening?
-
What are these?
I was cleaning my headlight earlier, heard a rattle inside and shook this out. Any idea what it's for or was my Zed used for smuggling heroin?

Zed engine fire (s)
Are the gearbox and engine bay ancillary looms available as new items Jeff?
-
Big thanks to these guy's
Not a problem mate, do you now have everything you need as I found three more in a box when I was rummaging earlier? I think I have both sides and the rear one here.

Time Attack Round 3, Snetterton Jun 9th
Yeah it is pretty big and fast. Bob took me out for a session last year and we were peaking 140 mph+ on the straights and that was just off wastegate pressure. Some fast corners in there as well :w00t:

I've disconnected a wire connector and can't find it
Small hole in the inner wing on the drivers side between the bulkhead and suspension tower bud. Part of the same loom that the small fuse box comes in on
-
Improvements made
Great effort considering the rust that was on them!

Confused
I've had all the bits to do that reroute in my garage for a while, should be doing it in the next week or so!

Is this the stock horn plug?
Outstanding, thanks alot chaps. More messy wiring removed and I can mount it properly as it was just hanging before:cool2:

Is this the stock horn plug?
I have no idea how the stock horn is wired in and while refitting my horn from the photos it shows the feed coming from here and the earth straight to the chassis nearby. The reason im questioning it is there was a relay with several wires coming out of it zip-tied to the live which I believe are junk now but I need to be sure.

Starting to look good
What's the bumper? Are they Bomex skirts?

Stripped thread in plenum. So gutted.
Took them off last night and gave them a soak and cleanup. The rear one was badly split under the clip so binned it, the side one came off alright although hard and have the two fronts. I can see the bristles and restrictor in both the fronts, couldn't see anything in the side one but I have no idea how they work etc so check them out properly before you decide to use them. Have you looked at how much a silicon set would be, SFS do them now I think otherwise Yewcheck was doing another Z1 order? That would be my choice. All will be in the post tomorrow morning regardless, don't worry about postage i've been helped out tons of times by the lads on here so it's my turn.

Ringing in ear after hammering
I have bad hearing and my Dad suffered very bad tinnitus to the point he had to have the balance mechanism removed in one if his ears as it would play up and he'd hit the deck. I wear ear defenders literally every time I use a hammer, electric saw, breaker etc, have done for years now and my hearing has got no worse. With all the advancements in restoring eyesight is there anything being done with hearing or is a case of 'go deaf get a hearing aid'?
