  1. Oh no! I can't believe how violently the steering wheel was rattling around as you ran across the grass, proper thumb breaker. Sounds really good
  2. If the o rings are seated right and that coil pack is definitely ok then I can only think of you may have disturbed a connection or hose or pulled a cable loose. 0.8mm sounds right for a bar of boost and it ran right the first time you started so I'm out of ideas mate
  3. Is your Zed running standard boost? Did you check all the balance bar O-rings were present before bolting the balance bar back down?
  4. I just wrote a new thread regarding this very issue and while wondering what could cause it to happen I thought the backplate must be out one side. Then remembered there was a thread about it not long ago and it was possibly Jeffs so trawled through his threads until I found it, checked it and yep exact same thing here. So thanks Jeff! My question now is, is it just a case of holding the left backplate down into that recess whilst re tightening the bolts that hold it?
  5. Did you get any extra power out of it this session or do you have to make do with 692hp and 634ftlb? :whistling:
  6. Boost leak testers are available to buy but I don't know a UK stockist, only US. You can remove the MAF and make a blank with a suitably sized coffee jar lid or similar. Drill a hole through it and put a tyre valve through it, then seal the outside with plumbers tape (PTFE tape) I would pressurise to running pressure as well, some leaks my not appear until a certain PSI reached but they are still there. Use soapy water in a spray bottle as suggested
  7. I lost track of this thread while I was way but have you boost leak tested it yet?
  8. Looks great Tom. When you say the front and back were badly fitted do you mean the shut lines looked bad? The reason I ask is my front bumper looked pants when I got it so im wondering if it can be sorted
  9. What are you talking about Gary, there's plenty of car park donuts left in them:shifty:
  10. Really nice looking car there Dan:thumbup1:
  11. Good luck both of you I hope this one pans out good for you guys with 2 podium spots:thumbup1:

What Osty said. The overflow from the radiator pushes and pulls liquid through a hose attached to the bottom of the header tank. The neck into the engine bay is just for filling and checking the level. If it's leaking from that area it could be overflowing as there is to much liquid in there. Note there is also a small overflow hole just under the join to allow air to flow as the level rises and falls and overflowing coolant to exit. If it's leaking I would check the level and the hose to the radiator for splits and the bottle itself
  13. I wonder if it left a hole in the ground
  14. Excellent, sounds awesome as well I'm probably responsible for half the view count of your main video on YouTube, nothing better than a V8 would love one :tongue_smilie: When I started calculating costs to do it with a VH you need to be able to do alot of work yourself to make it even remotely affordable:pinch:
  15. Yeah tell us all and plenty of pics please! Did I see that at Snetterton last month? Really loud?
  16. Sounds like a nightmare. What's the target with this build are you keeping it NA?
  17. It is, went there not long ago with my girlfriend for a long weekend. The roads are amazing, wide and in the best condition I've seen in the UK. I literally don't think I hit a single pot hole the whole weekend, uncongested and no speed cameras either..... There was a new Maclaren and a 458 Italia blasting around the hills, looked like epic fun! When my car is on the road I will be up for everything. Driving and shows with motorsport like TA with modified live are cool, ive been to the Snetterton one the last couple of years which was good. Right now I just have to put the time in on the car. I am mega excited to join in though and props to you guys for taking on this challenge of stepping it up a level, fair play:thumbup1:
  18. That is cool, best action of the lot
  19. Sweet that's just what I needed mate:thumbup1: Thanks alot
  20. Can anyone give me any pointers on this before I get started please? Is it going to be blatantly obvious if these hubs are shagged or not or is there a way to test them?
  21. Bugger that's not what I wanted to hear didn't want to have to take the belt off. Thanks for the replies chaps, what's the recommended course of action? Belt off - gears off - replace camshaft seals and check for scratches in seal seat. If the hub is leaking will it be loose in the back of the gear or what? I'm not familiar with these at all.
  22. Last night I removed my cam covers and found this oil down the front of the engine. I'm guessing it's from the rocker cover gaskets leaking rather than the cam seals as going on Jeff's thread the other day I would have seen oil on the top of the covers but they were spotless, as is the belt and gears. The gaskets were pretty hard. Give me your opinions before I go any further please.
  23. Now that is something special, the interior and engine bay are simply amazing! The freshness of the glass, badges and stickers makes such a difference to the overall appearance. As said above why is it so cheap, I thought a Zed of that calibre would be worth more than the original purchase price?
  24. I wonder if the 190mph rating is based on the front or back
  25. I think MantaV8 and Boldy made one for Boldy's Zed out of a windscreen wiper arm
