Suspension Setup
Good to see someone post pics of the full kit, what did you have before? Are you happy with the performance and quality?

crankshaft oil seal
Just found this while looking to solve my problem. I just replaced the sump but forgot to remove the plate above that holds the rear main oil seal in place to change the seal. It looks like if I do it now I will disturb the fresh rubber I just put in. Am I right and what would you recommend doing?

Timing belt covers
I think that looks really good, I would repaint the cam covers and fan shroud black personally - - - Updated - - - And get some stainless bolts to replace that rusty crap holding the cam covers on

under body protection
I wouldn't worry about it mate, it's not porous. My friend did the underside of his tow truck with the hammerite stonechip, went on over parts of bare metal where he had wire brushed it and it still looks like new today. Don't get to OCD over it, as long as it's a thorough job it'll be cool:thumbup1:

shin splints (through running)
As car.mad said it's the muscle trying to tear off your tibia. It will repair itself if given time to heal. When you go to the running shoe shop try to find one that will do a video analysis on a treadmill of how you run and suggest appropriate shoes. Chances are you have a biomechanical imbalance with muscle strength and flexibility, or your feet pronate (roll inwards) which is a common cause of shin splints. I went to a podiatrist and had a couple of pairs of custom made insoles made, wasn't cheap but beyond worth it! The exercise Bob mentioned is good to balance power between the front and back of the lower leg.

Are you talking about the hammerite/waxoyl product Terry?

Timing belt covers
Voted for repainting in black. If you could paint them blue and get it the exact same colour that's there now then that could look good, but more often than not it's a different shade and looks pants imo. As cool as the Zcentre one looks I wouldn't use it as I think the belt should be covered personally.

Buy to Let mortgages
A way around this a mate did was to buy to live then once it's finalised you can request the right to let. This didn't change the interest rate at all

Boost Leak Test
If you get stuck you can make one from an appropriate sized coffee jar lid or something similar. Just drill a hole and fix a tyre valve through it. Remove the MAF and fit in it's place  Im sure I have a spare tyre valve lying around somewhere if you end up needing it.

That looks ace, glad you got rid of that fugly bonnet

Stripped thread in plenum. So gutted.
Cool, I wouldn't stress about the order if it's not specified just place it on, nip them all up the go around again at the setting. Something I did a while back was tried all the common torque settings on a steel bolt just to get a feel of what's what. For example the 5ft/lb or whatever it is for the balance bar is just nipped up. If I had done that by normal ratchet i'd have done it alot tighter!

Will any timing strobe light work? I read a post ages ago that there is only one that is suitable for the VG30 but that seems a bit ridiculous
