Holiday to Tenerife cancelled
Agreed, a pathetic state pf affairs in this day an age. We can put unmanned craft on Mars, but cannot cope with a simple drone! They should take a leaf out of other major foreign international airports. Disgraceful.

Insurance renewal time - Valuation
I would look to at least recover your loss if it was completely destroyed or stolen and not recovered. After that I would for like for like cars and see what they are selling for. Personally I think you should push for in excess of 25k

Nominal operating temperature
I take it that the fan shrouds are still in place?

Nominal operating temperature
Are you running any modifications?
-
Nominal operating temperature
It's not unusual for an engines temperature to rise slightly after being shut down due to the residual temperatures involved and the lack of coolant circulation Once back up and running, did it return to about half way? Mine always sits at just under half way. (78-80 degrees)

Big Power + Big Brakes callout!!
When comparing my zed with fully refurbished stock calipers to my 250bhp Focus st, yes, I agree that the more modern st has the better brakes. Don't get me wrong, I think that my zed pulls up very well considering that it is probably twice the weight, which I think is a major consideration when comparing with the more modern vehicles.
