JaiKai - MK2 - Ziggy Build
Great progress Lee. As for the oil? I would say it is a result of a slight cam cover gasket leak personally.

What did you do to your zed today?
Hopefully, I think I have just cured my misfire. :hammer:

# 4 - what am I doing? Little build thread!
Mmmmm, not sure how to take that. I have known my car for over 20 years, and I am 100% certain that the black highlight I referred to was factory, hence my reference to it. Maybe a UK thing.

300zx windscreens - difficulty in getting replacements.
I also managed to make contact with Pilkinton Clasics today. Karen asked me to forward my date of registration, as they have two sets of tooling due to design changes. Hope to hear more early next week.

Sounds like the car is coming along nicely Si. Must be satisfying to see areas of the car for the first time and find them in such great condition. Reference the vertical lip that runs along the underside of the car at the base of the sills, will you be having them painted black, or leaving them white? I noticed on mine that they are black, and thought how well it accentuates the subtle curve of the sills.

Turbonoz?
Hi Dougal200, If you do manage to get over to Pro Tuner in July I'd be interested in meeting up, if that's okay with you. I work just around the corner from them and live just 2.5 miles away. Would love the opportunity to discuss your restoration. Will you be at Coventry?

Plenty of Plus Gas and a good soak overnight should help.

I'm back..... with a working series one Consult to play with....
Just a little update.. Breathing issues and chest pains have eased quite considerably. Incisions seem to be healing nicely, albeit still quite painful. (only to be expected I guess.) Even managing to sleep through. Anyway, I initially thought of thanking everyone for their kind words collectively, but have tried to reply on an individual basis. Cheers Si' Thanks znut. As you say, I was better of out of it for the more critical stage. (7 hours! that must have been some opp' mate) Cheers Chris. Cheers Andrew. Thanks Craig. Cheers Gary. Thanks Richie, can't believe it is all over and done with. Cheers buddy. Nightmare indeed my friend, my wife and daughter were both a bit shaken. As you say, plenty of rest. Cheers mate. Cheers Groover, will do. I know, what I thought would be straight forward turned out to be a right drama. Indeed. Cheers Craig, As you say, hopefully bump into you sometime soon mate. Look forward to it. Thanks Art213. As you say, I think everything is fine, just a bit of post operative shock I guess. If I have missed anyone, I apologise. So, Russ, I think it is about time I handed your thread back. Sorry bud.

I'm back..... with a working series one Consult to play with....
What a day! Theatre time was brought forward, what a panic. For some reason the first patient failed to qualify. Anyway, could not get fully anaesthetised prior to surgery, surgeon needed some ongoing feedback. However, I became so uncomfortable during the process that he increased the sedation to such a degree l was totally unaware of what was going on anyway. After 3 hours I was back on the ward, but totally oblivious of what was going on. After another couple of hours, I was sort of back in the real world with my wife and daughter at my bedside. What could be better, all was going so well, or so I thought. The next couple of hours were to be a little different. Firstly, the wounds at the point of entry at the groin decided to give way, not a pretty sight. Once the nursing staff had remedied this, all appeared to be well, or so I thought. What happened next was quite a shock, frightening to be honest. I suffered 2 nigh on cardiac arrests with blood pressures around 65/40 on both cases. As you can imagine, hearing the words "stay with us David" are not a sentence I care to relive. Anyway, after several hours of monitoring, to my surprise they have let me come home. A bit nervous to be honest, as I am still finding it difficult to breath without a high level of discomfort, only to be expected I guess. Hopefully things will return to some sort of normality tomorrow, just hope I can get some sleep. Ps. Meant to add, after an ultrasound just before release, they tell me I know have excess fluid in the pericardium and a leaky valve! Great. I think I will have to ring tomorrow if things do not improve
