  1. Indeed, I have watched it several times. A little embellished, but never the less, a fantastic endeavour by a facinateing chap.
  2. There are at least two very repeutable Zed specialists frequently referred to on here mate. Search over me thinks.
  3. very nice. Reminds me of Burt munro.
  4. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-100-ORIGINAL-NISSAN-300ZX-SWB-SLICKTOP-TURBO-1994-Auto-TT-/192214410220?hash=item2cc0df23ec:g:8W4AAOSwCkZZPaG1 Thought it worth a mention.
  5. Interesting..

  8. Valid point Chris. Do they have the wideband fitting at the exhaust flange? What was Jimmers main criticism?
  9. Just trying to compile a final list. (To be added to as I go.) So far I have decided upon the following... 1. Z1 2.5" "4 Bolt" Stainless Steel Downpipes. 2. Modify my existing throttle bodies. (Budget over preference, may reconsider.) 3. 2.5" intake pipework. (Manufacturer undecided as yet, not sure which ones will fit recirc valves without modification, if any.) 4. Larger SMIC's, considering Z1. (need to understand how they will fit.) 5. Retain my existing exhaust system for now.
  10. What a party indeed! That good I can't remember it.
  11. I would also advise using a torque wrench, best not over tighten the things.
  12. Just to be sure, we are talking about the split collets that retain the the compressed spring assembly and not the valve stem seals? It's just that I think the first link you posted refers to a valve seal removal- re fitting tool I think. As for compressing the spring, as Andrew's links demonstrates. You can either use a G cramp type tool wound down enough so as to expose the valve stem collet seat, (you will need the home made socket for access mind) or you can use the bolted on version to wind down and compress the spring also. Or, as Graham has just posted, you can also use a valve spring compressor clamp.
  13. I would approach with caution, there is a high risk of making things worse if you are not careful. Do you know anyone with a scope? I think it is important to see and understand exactly what you may have done first personally.
  14. Thanks Richard, no worries.
  15. Thanks everyone for your kind words and birthday wishes, I have had a great day. :thumbup1::thumbup1::thumbup1::thumbup1::thumbup1::thumbup1:
  16. I can understand that, makes sense really. If I was totally honest with you, the more I look at the Z1 2.5" down pipes complete with wide band access, the more tempted I am. If it wasn't for the price, I would probably opt for the full split that Andrew has. So in the interest of not messing you around mate, I'll withdraw my interest, apologies.
  17. Are the IC's pipework dimensioned in the same way as the downpipes Andrew? IE as the outside diameter.
  18. Yep, I think day 1 was the 26th of May 2016..
  19. Correct Andrew, I did mean test pipes. I don't know why, but I always seem to get them the wrong way round.
  20. That brings back memories, I had to strip my front end completely to weld a new crossmember in. Can't believe that was a year ago now.
  21. Not sure if it makes much difference, but I believe Nissan recommend that all fluids be at top levels. Particularly the fuel tank, due to it's final weight being of some influence to set up.
  22. Mmmm, that's interesting. I was hoping that they were 2.5" as I have Japspeed testpipes.
  23. Thanks Si, Hope all goes well with the new windscreen and MOT. Looking forward to seeing your Zed at Coventry, (Hopefully) no Merc's allowed.
