  1. Hi Dougal200, when you do come to put these up for sale, please let me know.
  2. Again, some super information Andrew. If I am not mistaken, if I decide to run the 2.5" intake pipework, I will have to do something about the TB's as the original one's will not marry up. Unless the pipework reduces down at the TB end of course. (can't see it somehow, but you never know i guess.)
  3. Looking forward to it mate, I have so much to learn before my venture begins.
  4. Where did you order your windscreen from Si?
  5. I have no idea Andrew, I was just compiling a setup so as to invite thoughts and input. Hopefully I will be able to confirm either way with a bit of investigation.
  6. I will be popping into Protuner in the later part of July, hopefully I will get the chance to discus things with him. Handy really as I work within walking distance.
  7. All valid points Stephen, appreciated. As for the engine itself, it has covered approximately 25,000 miles, as have the turbos. As for the belts etc, all things like this will be serviced in conjunction with the modifications. As for the running and setting up? this will be where members such as yourself will come in handy, as I do not realy have much of an idea. I anticipate a re map so as to maximise the alterations, but anything else will require further advice.
  8. So, this is where I am in the decision department... 2.5" pipework for both intake and exhaust. (existing exhaust system may have to go) Existing intake pipework/intercoolers will definitely have to go. Twin Maf intakes and larger SMIC's, (make to be decided.) advice welcome. 52 mm Throttle bodies? From what I have read recently, looks like new manifolds are a must also. At least now I have an idea of what the overall system will consist of, just need to balance budget and manufacture. (may have to make some compromises) I'll post a shopping list for comments and advice. I won't be doing this for a little while yet, just need to get everything straight in my mind before I order things.
  9. Once again Andrew, thank you. What a great read, very appropriate to my future plans. Watch this space.
  10. Currently I have the original cast iron down pipes. Japspeed test pipes. Mongoose from there on. (Quad tip) Bit of a mish mash to be honest, should go for a new, single manufacturer throughout really. I understand what you are saying about spending elsewhere, my plan is to enhance things throughout, but having made the decision to stick with the stock turbos, I thought I would work backwards first.
  11. Thanks Chris. I already have them fitted, just interested as to whether or not I can utilize them. If they are in fact 2 1/2" then I will be happy for now.
  12. I'm not sure why I think this, but in the back of my mind I believe the Japspeed test pipes to be 2" bore. Would this be correct would anyone know?
  13. So far I think I understand what I need for the turbo end, my only potential issue is determining that they will fit my test pipes. I'm guessing I will need to know the actual bore dia'? and bolt configuration? Or are they fairly universal?
  14. So plenty of potential then? Worth building my mods around?
  15. To be honest, I don't actually know the size. All I know is that the test pipes are Japspeed attached to a Mongoose rear set up, looks about 2" to 2 1/2" to me. (guessing mind)
  16. Thanks Stephen, unfortunately they are 5 bolt though. - - - Updated - - - Enough said.
  17. Hi Joel, My main motivation, in the not too distant future, is to work towards upgrading the general performance whilst maintaining the stock turbo's (not sure if this is the right way to go mind, as I do not know the potential of stock turbo's) At the moment I am looking at both before and after them to try and determine the best combination.
  18. What would people's thoughts be about something like these?.. https://www.z1motorsports.com/exhaust/ams/ams-30-stainless-steel-downpipes-available-in-or-bolt-p-3359.html
  19. Well, I will certainly have to consider budget along side design, albeit the budget will probably take second place over choosing the design. What sort of price would you be looking at out of interest?
  20. Thanks Andrew, I now understand a little more about the actual full spit design and the actual advantages. As you say, definitely the way to go.
  21. I am contemplating purchasing these... https://www.z1motorsports.com/z1-products/z1-motorsports/z1-25-bolt-stainless-steel-downpipes-p-2958.html Can I ask for people's opinions please? Not sure if they are a bit limited with regards to power enhancements in the future. As things stand, I intend to stick with stock turbos and just enhance their performance further down the line. ie raising boost and improving induction etc. Just do not want to end up with them being a limiting factor that's all. Would appreciate it if you would share your thoughts guys, even if it means an alternative downpipe design/manufacture. Thanks in advance...
  22. Cheers Alic.. :thumbup1: I'm guessing that the Nissan workshop manual I have is not specific to a UK Zed.
