First Fireup.......... :-)
http://www.zees.co.jp It is a ZEES EX rear half system. Megan racing stainless de-cat & divorced wastegate front half. There are only 3 silencers in system, 1 in middle and 2 rear boxes. All are straight through not composite baffles :xxx:

First Fireup.......... :-)
Thanks for response guys :D Can't wait to get some MOT and tax on her now :hyper: Steve, thanks mate :duffer: now get cracking on your supercharger/turbo setup  Greg, indeed mate Royal, LOL yep that happend first time round in 2000 ;) John, what do i say but thanks. Cant wait for the E-01 now  To Paul Stevens & Si, stock pistons, rods, crank & pulleys (very fooking heavy :headvswal ) flywheel had only 1kg skimmed off it when we did the clutch back in 2003. I really do want to make and fit some aluminium pulleys (not underdriven) to see if that helps response a bit. MantaV8, first fireup?.... have i connected EVERYTHING? Are all the bolts tight? is the battery charged? Went ok once we dried the manifold and plugs out. An old skool fix lol. Dad said it sounded like it was flooded ;) And last but not least just on the off chance that he is reading it, Dad thanks a million mate. Without you the engine build back in 2000 wouldn't have got me on the road in the first place. Will let you borrow it in the summer before your 350z and stillen supercharger is completed..... then we race lol! :wack:

First Fireup.......... :-)
Well my Father and I finally got round to putting back the engine and gearbox (which we rebuilt Christmas) Damn thing wouldnt start at first, but then problem found to be someone had washed out the inlet manifold with parrafin and not dried it thouroughly enough  doh! (yes that was me btw..........) So I pulled the plugs out, dried the cylinders out and warmed the soaking spark plugs up. Fired up great then, just revved to 2500 rpm and a limiter came in. All that was was the AFM plug had worked loose. Big thanks goes out to John Dixon  . Working well into the night with me to remove $hit loads of gubbins the Z doesn't need, brackets, pipes, water bypass, etc etc before the engine was put back in. The bloke's a genious and knows Z32's inside out. We bagged just shy of 12kg of crap removed when we finished. Astounding. Less stuff to go wrong now though ;) All that's left now is to fix clutch master cylinder and tackle the rusty sill. Should be on the road for March. Got some Volk Racing Challenge to fit at some point also :duffer: A couple of vids also, I am running divorced downpipes now with de-cats (no silencers) and no baffles in rear at all. completely straight through. It is not actually all that loud IMHO, but the camera cant cope lol. http://bagpuss.swan.ac.uk/dunk300zx/Z32_Pictures/Z_Fireup1.mpg http://bagpuss.swan.ac.uk/dunk300zx/Z32_Pictures/Z_Fireup2.mpg   Zeds comming home after 18 months. What a reunion that will be.

Got an idea in my head....
Nice one Manta :D But as for V8 fitting problems, i reckon this one will fit in just about anything :D Click here to see Video

Turbos
The car that this engine is fitted in as stock is not available here in uk. It is sold in Japan and America. These V8 engines are what the Indycar/Champcar 10,000+ rpm 750+hp monsters are based on i believe :D The bad thing about that is they all play their tuning cards close to their chests as they dont want to give anything away to the opposition. Quite understandable really.............

Turbos
Something tells me you are fond of the V8 conversion Mark............ ;) ;)

Stock fuel pump
The Nissan 300ZX Turbo fuel pump (part number 17042-40P05) has been tested to flow about 241 lph (adjusted for the 6.34 density of the test fluid) at 43 psi with 13.5 volts. Thanks lads, most usefull ;)

Stock fuel pump

NZR: Mitsubishi L300 Express van - Oil pressure problem
daft question time......... what colour is the warning light that illuminates? Our works toyota has an orange light that illuminates when oil level is low. Red for low oil pressure i.e. on start up. hth............
-
I think Macca's got a long time driving his zed before this happens....
I have seen one of those put a rod through the side on tv one time. BOOM big fireball everywhere from hot oil. But that is absolutely crazy spliting a block in half. The engine must have hydrolocked or something. Diesel engines run massive compresion ratios 20+:1 That means only a small volume left when it is compressed. If this charge for whatever reason does not ignite, it also does not exhaust it properly. So when piston comes up to compress the next charge there is not enough volume to squash 1 1/2 amounts of fuel. Engine just goes boom lol. Top fuel dragsters have the same problem. Their nitromethane fuel needs massive c/r also. If they misfire just once down the run they do a rod at least. Sorry for waffling on...............LOL

Gigabit routers & networking
Damn! so what is your best guess at transfer rate then? As I say i have about 10mb/sec max at the mo........
-
Gigabit routers & networking
So does anybody know of anybody else who makes gigabit routers other than D-Link??? Or will i have to get a gigabit hub and plug it into my existing router?
-
z broken into tonight
Nice one mate. That's the way. Cant rely on the law to help in these matters. When I had my Z broken into, the cops said they would send the fingerprint guys down. Only took them 24 hours to get there, in the meantime I had to go to work (to pay for a new door handle and repair/spray to door :mac1: ) so when they did arrive they said they couldnt do anything.

Gigabit routers & networking
Right, so i would still need the router, I couldn't plug the cable modem into the switch? And as for wireless, i am not that fussed, i have not got a wireless laptop right now. I was thinking to the future is all. Thanks so far Dave :)
-
Gigabit routers & networking
Currently i do use copper cables, the wireless part could come later for a laptop possibly. Transfer rates are around 10mb/sec for large files (800mb), quite a lot less for smaller files. Let's ask this then, if i were to upgrade to gigabit NIC's and a gigabit router, you would expect the tranfer rate to go over 50mb/sec? This i would be quite happy with. I know this has nowhere near hit the gigabit limit, but just wondered how much real world speed increase i would see.

Gigabit routers & networking
I'm looking to upgrade my current network to gigabit. I had a dig around the net and can only seem to find 1 router available with gigabit ports, the D-Link DGL-4300. http://games.dlink.com/products/?pid=370&sec=4 D-Link also do the DGL-4100 without wireless, but does anyone else do a gigabit router? I can find millions of switches, but no routers other than these. Basically i want neat and simple i.e. cable modem --> gigabit router --> pc's X4 Thanks in advance all you IT guys :p

NZR: ps2 gt4 corrupt game data

Lexan light weight glass
Be aware that polycarbonate is very 'soft' compared to glass and will scratch very easily. I.E. wipers, winding window up/down..........

serious 300zx power
Hmmmm, one of them used Propane as fuel! He 'only' managed 218mph though. So they had the means to run a car to over 200mph on LPG 14 years ago, where has this technology gone now?

Supercharge and Turbos combined...any doubts???
Yeah, you're welcome dude. They give a little info on the swapover points. I thought that may help a little.

Nissan put one into production with the old Micra Super S, the square shape. But as you found out the most famous car was probably the lancia. I am trying to find a picture of a skyline engine for you, it is being elusive tho mate.
