  1. True, it is odd - I had read that they were only for early models, but the 95 FSM I have shows it. Though I think it's for USDM Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
  2. When my zed was in for paint the body shop told me they saw a small sensor hanging down around the front - had a look and its the ambient temperature sensor. Don't remember seeing it before, I had the bumper off a few days before they did and didn't do anything with it, but they said they didn't touch it either. Maybe it was just tucked up somewhere.... Anyway, I can't for the life of my find where the little b*****d is supposed to go. Service manual shows under the crash bar, but I can't see anything that lines up with the dowl and hole. Anyone got any good pictures of where it goes? Mines a 95 series 4 with auto AC, don't know if it ever changed through the years Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
  3. Personally, would never want one - unless you're building a competitive racecar there is no need to get too caught up with relatively minor differences in weight IMO, and what is there not to love about the targa tops? I love taken them off, and when they're on, a glass roof is much more interesting than a solid roof. Then again, I personally wouldn't want a SWB either so maybe I'm in the minority!
  4. I commented on an insurance thread that was started more than 4 years ago, that counts ?
  5. Surely any valuation will be less than the total spent though, so I imagine that might be counterproductive?! Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
  6. Doesn't matter how big you make a garage, it always ends up full of junk anyway [emoji14] Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
  7. Got a few more when I got home last night. We are renovating our house so it has to share the garage with building materials!
  8. Don't want to keep resurrecting a zombie thread, but I'm thinking about getting agreed value on mine this year. I find insurance such a pain every year, I can never get mine as low as everyone else seems to have it. What sort of evidence do they ask for with the agreed valuation? Any trouble getting to agree to these high figures?
  9. No broken for me now too, though they worked yesterday, will try and fix Edit: well they were broken on tapatalk, but working through the web! Will change them anyway
  10. After importing mine in 2016 I FINALLY got round to getting some paint work done that I'd been meaning to do from the beginning. ...but not after I opportunistically bought some CZP intercoolers. I saw them for sale after someone had test fitted them to their car for a few days (without an engine), but then decided to scrap the car. So I got them for a good price, and thought it would be good to get the front bumper off and get them fitted, before the bumper was resprayed, so that I didn't have to take it off again. I'm not much of a photo person, but I got a few. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to take the bumper off! Here's an original intercooler behind it's duct And here's a CZP one They are advertised as being direct bolt on replacements, with only trimming of the duct required. I watched a video of someone else bolting them straight into place, but there was no way in hell that was happening for me. After a lot of faffing, I had to bend the inner bracket on each in the vice. I also found that the duct wouldn't bolt directly to the face, the mounts ended up about 1cm from the face of the intercooler, so I had to mess about spacing them out which was a real pain. So I'm less than impressed with CZP calling them direct replacements. Also the amount of 'trimming' required was very extreme! Don't have photos, but I must have taken 5cm off the leading edge of each. I also had to trim the outer top edge as it fouled the indicators. But ultimately, they're in and the fitment is fine once finished, so I'm happy. Took it for a test drive and wow I really thought they made a huge difference, way more than I had expected. Seemed like it had more low-end grunt/less lag to me, maybe that's a symptom of just more power overall though? Who knows, but I'm dead chuffed with them! I had also changed the steering rack bushes - wish I had done that years ago! Always thought the steering felt a bit dead, changes direction like a fly now. As an aside, I contemplated doing a carbon cannister delete whilst I was there, but once I read into it I personally thought it sounded like a stupid idea. Fuel tank vent hanging around open in the front bumper? No thanks.... Anyway, managed to get them done a day before it went in for paint. Both the bumpers needed doing, and the rear hatch had a small bubble in one of the rear corners. the rest of the car is completely rust free and it was undersealed as soon as it came in, so I wanted to nip this bit in the bud! The rear spoiler also had some cracks in it, and there were various bits and pieces here and there that needed minor attention. Was nervous about the rear screen coming out, but it was all fine. You can see the bubble. Luckily it hadn't gone all the way through, so it was relatively easy for the shop to get rid of all of it. The other corner had some surface rust as well, so good to get that sorted. Paint code is QN0 which is a 3 stage pearl white. Pearls are notoriously hard to colour match. Even Nissan themselves did a shit job matching them from the factory IMO. Look at almost any picture of a pearl white zed, 350z and 370z included, and you can see a big difference between the bumpers and the rest of the car (some angles and lighting look worse than others of course though). So honestly I think the shop did a great job, here's the end result (got it all polished too which was well wothwhile) Missing it's pinstripe at the moment, it's in the post. I'm very pleased with it, I had sort of got used to the poor condition of the bumpers before, it looks soooo much better now. I used Andy's Autobarn in Ashford (west London), not cheap but you get what you pay for! I would recommend them. Now just got to wait a while until the missus forgets how much I've just spent, then want a new clutch and flywheel as I'm pretty certian the cheap XTD one in there I took from my last zed is rattling, and put my refurbished gearbox in as the current one leaks! There's always something isn't there...
  11. But if you do buy a later car, always bring those sheets to the MOT centre as they never know what needs to be done!
  12. Oddly enough just remembered I have a new pair of the corner moudlings lying about, bought as part of some crackpot scheme I had for my old shitbox I imagine....at least I can put them to some worthwhile use now! Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
  13. Great, thanks - probably worth me getting one then
  14. Always check fuses first, I wasted a few hours early this year diagnosing my ABS cus I checked the wrong fuse - I the one I checked was fine, but the real one had blown. Checking the fusebox for water damage is a good shout if the car was fine before but now has issues after it has been standing. Worth giving stuff like PTU connectors a good clean with switch cleaner and a brush as well.
  15. My zeds going in for some paint next week, both bumpers and a few minor things here and there. But also the rear hatch is getting looked at as there is a tiny bubble in one of the bottom corners. So the rear window is coming out, bit nervous as it's blue tint so hard to replace if it breaks, so fingers crossed! I asked if there was anything I needed to supply for that, and the shop said no....I'm wondering though, whats required to fit the glass back in afterwards? Is there anything I should be thinking about?
  16. Replaced my steering rack bushes. Came up as an advisory last MOT so bought some to do it when I had a chance, and now it's summer and I've been driving it again I realised my steering wheel wasn't always returning to centre. Found it not as easy as some say, but not as hard as others say so consider myself lucky!
  17. Agreed, make sure you protect it afterwards
  18. Have you run through the simple things first, like fuses? You say you have changed all the injector plugs, and your neighbour thought it sounded like the timing was off....have you got the right injectors connected to each cylinder?
  19. I like the purple personally. Is it really worth changing though? If you're 80% of the way there you could finish it off, enjoy it and then see if you fancy changing it in the future.
  20. I decided the extra expense of the ones on ebay was worth it for less hassle!
  21. Tempted to just go for that then! Thanks for the pic
  22. Just caught up on this thread as I haven't been on the forum in a while and I had to find out why you were rebuilding again! Your perserverance is just insane, but you're going to be bored out of your mind once it's finished!
  23. Blimey they look completely different to normal in that picture! Like metallic silver, which I'm sure they're not. Yea I had seen that on ebay, maybe that's the best option then unless someone knows of anything else. Were you pleased with the match?
  24. Hi all, Anyone know a place to get some decent tape for the pinstripe? I've seen some old posts but the links are dead, I tried buying one that said it was 'charcoal/gunmetal' but it's way too bright!
