  1. AH hopefully mine isn't far off as its on the order :) Maybe PM those people not confirmed CK, as they probably haven't looked in here !
  2. Maybe the knock sensor would be a good thing to replace while you have the motor out, as you can actually get to it ?
  3. Congrats to you and your missus
  4. :happybday: :pint: Have a good one :)
  5. Yeah, I used to live near a rental place, and knew the owner as I rented vans of him on several occasions (nice chap), same happened to him, pikeys move in nearby, and all his vans are missing the cats within a few days. And they wonder why no-one wants them nearby !!
  6. No BMW fitment is different, you can get hubcentric adaptors though, I believe one of the mods here has them (Vodkashots maybe) ?
  7. TBH ebay wheels is a bit of a sweeping statement, certain brands may be prone to the blistering, the thing is finding which ones are bad ? I think the ones linked have been quite popular, so hopefully there are some user experiences to see what they are like ? As for OP question on those wheels, AFAIK you would need a different spigot ring as Supra's are not the same as Zeds (I think they are quite inexpensive). But otherwise I think they should fit nicely. Tyre sizes are a little bigger diameter than stocks, but just about in the limits, personally I would be inclined to go for 255/35/18 and 225/40/18 because its closer to original diameter.
  8. If you take the alloy off, usually its stamped on the inside preceding a J.
  9. Get pattern ones from the likes of SVP, usually a lot cheaper. Quite a lot of the cheaper brand printers, lexmark etc, cost as much for ink as a new printer, unusual for a canon !
  10. Blackpool, have you only paid a deposit ? If so, and its at a dealers, just tell them what info has come to light and you want a full refund of the deposit (or a suitable adjusted price on the car, whichever you prefer). I can't see any honest dealer having a problem with that ?
  11. No ! Well they would squeeze on, but not as they should. for 265 tires you should have 9" minimum.
  12. Those are 17's I think there are a couple of Zeds running those on these forums, pics here for you to see what they look like on a Z: http://300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=149054 A bit pricey for SH 17's though ?? I know how you feel, I am chasing some S/H 18's with reasonable tyres and seems I have been fighting a losing battle !
  13. I don't believe you all like that Zed ! Matt, not my cup off tea but can look good done right, but that linked one is awful ! Most of the body panels don't line up and it looks badly put together. The wheels are pretty nice, but the stretched tyres look awful ... oh well, each to his own etc ;)
  14. Mine too Mr G :) The worst bit was were I had to lay to see what I was doing, goggles a must !
  15. Not that bad actualy, get some good quality cobalt bits (stubbies for the first few sizes), run your drill at a slow speed and work up from 3mm to 10mm in 4 or 5 stages. It took me around an hour a stud. Of course I bow to Jeffs superior experience, but just wanted to say from recent experience, drilling out isn't that bad a job once you have the right drillbits, just a little time consuming :)
  16. In an attempt to find out why the white car is like it is, we tracked down its owner ...
  17. Ooo they are some odd looking fuses ! I did think it strange you had probs finding them, now I know why, Live and learn :)
  18. The ubiquitous fleabay ;) Assorted: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/30-X-BLADE-FUSES-CAR-AUTO-BOAT-5A-10A-15A-20A-25A-30A-/270672687322?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f055970da Or 30A only: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Car-Blade-Fuse-30A-19x12mm-Pk-5-/180485446202?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a05c55a3a
  19. :happybday: :duffer: Have a good one :)
  20. That's looking great Marty :) I knew there was a potentially good car when I saw it advertised, and you have done a great job rescuing it :thumbup1: I want those freaking wheels though, those are right up my street ;)
  21. Yeah, I didn't explain it well ... I'll try a different way of asking :) Whats the technique for blending the base and clearcoat in areas without a hard panel line ?
  22. *takes on board :) So how much past the base coat do you laquer to seal ? Presumably a similar technique is used to repair peeled laquer too ? Sorry to but-in on the thread Marty, but questions may also be useful for you to know too ;)
  23. I'm in the same boat as Richard, my DD insurance is a tad over £200, I think my NCBP was about £15 of that. For me it seems worth the £15. My Zed is on a pre-classic policy so doesn't benefit from NCB, so no dilema :)
  24. Trying to embed you tube, but its gone pete tong, so the gist of it was: "Drugs are bad mmkay ?"
  25. I took it as a given, to reduce swirls you need to use a reasonable cutting compound ;)
