  1. smithy thanks, how do i do this diagnosis????, also, you mention overfueling, the car originally did this too me on Saturday, to get it fired up again, ( eventually) i turned it over , and over , and over whilst pumping the throttle and it eventually coughed into life, pumping the throttle was the key, so seemed more like underfueling ??? which led me to suspect poor air fuel mix due to the HKS filter being installed
  2. big jim, can you text me pls, im hoping to finish work today at 12 so could meet around that time ???? im fairly local ( birmingham business park) ta Neil 07929159828
  3. Smithy, the car from cold , started and ran seemingly okay, then after a few minutes i had the horendous flat spot when pressing/ blipping the thorttle ( the revs acutally dipped to about 500 before picking back up. then , turning the car off, and then trying to restart it simply wouldnt, just turned over and over, at this point i threw my toys out of the cot and retired for the evening .
  4. nice one jim is it a known good maf ??? if so can i borrow it to try ???? if its a winner ill cash up straight away.. can you text me pls as whilst working on the car this weekend i erm well jacked up on top of my blackberry result phone dead , all contacts lost , sim survived. if it doesnt work ill get it back to you . can we meet by the airport tomorrow ?????

  7. right then, just reconnected the battery, car fired up straight away, all seemed good, then after 5 mins or so ... turned the car off, went for a restart straight away and it wouldnt, just kept on turning overr and over, so now it seems dead on the drive to boot, does anybody local ish have a version of consult that they would be willing to stick on the bloody thing , or can i tempt anybody local with a an intuitive knowledge of all things zed with fuel and beer money ???? ta neil 07929159828
  8. oh.... any advice on how to find boost or vaccum leaks ( sorry but im an absolute novice) , it just seemed odd that the minute i changed to a cone filter i had the hesitation as described. the maf and all the connections are good, nowt else has been touched. oh and my revs at idle are all over the shop, up at 1500 then down to 1000 etc etc
  9. okay all thanks for the advice, ive disconnected the live terminal on the battery, checked all connections to the maf ( no issues apparent here) and will now wait and see if tomorrow brings better news when i connect up and turn the key..
  10. ill go check the thing now
  11. started doing it as soon as i put the airfilter on, no it was not raining..im hoping the bloody thing is running super lean which will explain the issue but i dont know how to do anything about it , im about an inch away from putting a match to it.....
  12. White Zed high rear spoiler by the Electrium hotel 17:00 today
  13. losing the will to carry on with my zed.......i have changed the standard air filter for a Hks mushroom type one, now the blooxy thing struggles to fire up, has a huge flat spot when i first press the throttle and to top it all off whilst stuck in traffic today it cut out and refused to restart, what do i need to do now to get around this latest in a very very long list of issues .... thanks Neil sayers
  14. Hi John, we still need to speak !!!!!!!!
  15. what conversion have you had done ???
  16. well if it helps anybody ( and depending on rear connection configuration ) i now have a multitude of dash clusters, perhaps the 180 KMH jap faced dial with my converter could transplant into someones cluster without too much trouble, as ever welcome to bell me on 07929159828 Neil
  17. i would love to meet fellow owners in the midlands , but can only do weekends, come on jeff and jamie, next zedworld meet is when ???????
  18. hi Jim, well yes, no and sort off, i ended up buying another set of clocks with the correct connections on the back, but the wrong speedo head, sooooo i transplanted your speedo into the other cluster and all good,
  19. why not use carborundum paste . worked a treat for me in the past, cheap, easy to work with a drill head etc
  20. power gain you say.... pressing the throttle now gives the car the reaction time of a stabbed rat, Mega
  21. anybody ???
  22. okay all, bit of a strange one, i changed to decats, after the event i have read up on it, now im not too sure as i dont want to fubar my turbos or engine. so im seriously thinking about putting the cats back on, however i would like to flush out / wash / regen the catalytic bit to as near as new a condition as possible, has anybody done this before, is it even possible, i thought about flushing them with petrol etc but not sure if its a good idea thanks Neil
  23. John, i have been advised you may be able to help me , i have a 93 auto jap spec TT, it has an upgraded chip in it , and i am now going to remove the catalytic converters to free up some BHP, can you please help with a proper map to suit , i understand you do the modification " live" with the car being driven for best results, pls drop me a line thanks Neil sayers 07929159828
  24. The diagram supplied shows the wires being cut into / spliced into before the speedo head connector and does not talk about modifying the circuit board directly
