  1. Lol. Thing is, the blue wide arch is a low mileage car (around 60 or 70k). Is also a manual etc too so kind of thing ID like to keep that one as it is. Maybe turn in to more of a show car than a daily user. The black one is my real love. I like the way it looks, fairly stock but not quite. Its a beast as has a powerful engine etc. I just genuinely love the way the black on is, especially since I did the 'make it look better' thread. It for to a point where it was lovely. All I had leafy to do was the camber on the front wheels and the stillen lip - which has now arrived. I kind of see them as 2 completely different cars all round really.
  2. My neighbours are pretty cool tbh as I've always got the car's in bits. They not bothered one bit.
  3. No it;s not. I already have 2 zeds there though lol
  4. Thanks Jeff, The car is still straight. The issue is mainly where there's a hole right next to the mounting bracket for the front upper control arm which would be difficult to fix. And given the price I could get a new and better all round shell, ive kind of come to the decision that might be the better overall option. I repaired the back arches and that on the black zed last year but its bound to be back at some point etc.
  5. Cheers mate. Makes sense, the car is rust free and low mileage so defo makes sense to go down the prevention route :-)
  6. Cheers lads. I think its the engine and gearbox and pedals that's daunting to me. Might be worth me paying someone to move those over then do the rest myself
  7. So, following my recent unfortunate incident, I'm looking for a new shell. Ideally I wanted a series 2 car as that's what I currently have. Anyway, finding a good series 2 car seemed stupidly hard, so I'm going to go get a series one car. Anyway, given I'm going to be getting a rolling shell, I'm going to need to move everything over. Wiring loom, engine, gearbox and pedals, interior (S2 into a S1 car) including the electrics. My problem is that I'll be doing everything on my drive. How hard of a job is this going to be? I think I'm mainly worries about moving the engine and gearbox as I've never done anything like this before. Is there a specific order I should be doing stuff in? Like any hints and tips etc.
  8. My mate did mine for like a fiver (was 2 wheels)
  9. Here's a couple of photos to show how nicely the wheels are sitting in the back arches
  10. So yeah, sadly the car had a prang and I've decided a new shell is the way to go however, it's ultimately going to be exactly the same. However, I'll give an update anyway. So, the car was pretty much finished. I bought bunch of expensive suspension parts, basically went for the top quality SPL Titanium products. Which would have sorted the way the wheels sat in the arches. I have the tracking etc done on the rear and boy it sat spot on. They garage didn't wish to do the front as the steering arm was bent and told me to replace before hand. I bought brand new Oem inner and outer tie rods/track rods and that week the arm snapped hence the prang, I just didn't change them in time I guess. Anyway, besides that, the last piece of the puzzle was the front bumper, basically getting the stillen type 3 lip. Well, it finally turned up last week just to kick me in the nuts pmsl. Not the best photos but the wheels sat beautifully in the arch
  11. Can you send me this Jeff just so I have it incase I ever do it. Happened to me once before that's all... Did have a spare but had to walk home lol
  12. bird posted a topic in For Sale - Cars
Decent LWB TT shell... Series 2 onwards if possible
  13. You gonna shoe us
  14. Hi mate I can't see the photos
  15. Thanks. Is that the only thing that wouldn't be a straight swap. Just wondering if a S1 car could/should be an option for a diner or not. Not sure if the pod controls are all the same, something in my head is telling me they were slightly different in function
  16. It's the seat belts on the doors I'm not keen on. I'm wondering if it's easy to retrofit the s2 interior into a S1 and have the seatbelts on the B pillar. Not too sure what else is different to be honest - engine etc would be coming out of the black car anyway
  17. I'm just wondering what people's thoughts are. What would it take to effectively change a S1 car into a S2 car. Would it just be a straight swap of the interior?
  18. When I weigh things up, just might be more sensible with the arches bubbling slightly (very slightly), I'm thinking it's more work / money long term
  19. Yeah, I think the rust is why I'm thinking a new shell would be the better option.
  20. Haha. Good job it wasn't a secret then. I guess word gets round quick though doesn't it. Just don't know what to do. Want whatever I choose done like yesterday lol
  21. It must be those Antera 309's and veilside exhausts mustn't it james? Funnily enough I just bought new tires for mine too lol. I did call the insurance company (stupidly) and as soon as I said the wing was bust, they said they'd write it off. So I've nto taken it further, it's just logged as a notification only.
  22. I'm debating. I'm kind of thinking along the lines of a new shell might be better all round. Kind of want one with as little bodywork as possible really
