  1. you doubters! the owner said it was one of the healthiest zeds he'd seen for a while - so which of you went there before me! its making 270hp at the fly - nice smooth delivery, but peak power is at 5300rpm, as peak torque is at 4600rpm, then drops rather sharply. Strangely, its making more torque than power, which i thought was rare - its still got 280lb/ft. very tempted to remap the ecu now to hopefully get up to around 320hp - i really fancy having a car with 200hp per tonne. will be speaking to jeff about it at some point.
  2. Yes! although Leamington hardly had any snow. was nice to hear that someone before me had it undersealed, which i didnt know!
  3. Nice! good to see its getting use over winter! Ive got a 300mile round trip to look forward to in a few weeks - avoiding motorways wherever possible :)
  4. yep, weston performance - definitely hasnt been chipped, as thats next on my list of things to do! answers this evening!
  5. are all of those at the wheels!?! some optimistic guesses there i think... unless im grossly underestimating the difference a few simple mods makes!
  6. doesnt look like a bad looking zed tbh - Now Absent turbos notwitstanding...
  7. Got me a dyno session in solihull tomorrow morning! Im interested to see what my zed is kicking out now, and serves as a good benchmark before further tuning. Its a 1990 zed, TT Manual, 73k on the clock. Engine mods are an apexi induction kit, decatted and custom exhaust, and slightly larger ARC intercoolers. No other mods. Question is - what HP is it gonna make? (At the wheels) To start the ball rolling, my target is 250hp at the wheels, so with a 20% loss through drivetrain, gets me up to 300hp again! Closest to the actual answer gets the respect and admiration of other forum members. what more could you want :)
  8. no good for me, i need the one with the cruise control buttons!
  9. i think its the age of the car is the main thing - its cheaper for a Zed than an MX5 for me. amazed i can get insured on it at 23 with 2years ncb, but then it seems im not the only one!
  10. we've had a sprinkling here - hope its gone by monday, as i said before i bought my zed that its not coming out if theres snow on the ground, and i really don't want to walk two miles in the cold :(

  12. when i first had my car, coming home i managed to spin the wheels in 3rd doing 50mph... also trying to pull quickly onto wet roundabouts was a joke. So traded my Clear HP166s for some Falken FK452s and hings are a lot better now! Next step is bushes, i think thats where a lot of wobble is coming from!
  13. for me comparethemarket didnt know what mine was from the reg, which surprised me as it was a UK car. Were there any non turbo zeds sold in the UK? maybe it was imported or something?
  14. you gonna actually be in a zed lee? im worried your disco will prove too much for us on the local roads :S
  15. have to get out on the open road and open the taps on mine - to and from work barely warms the engine up. plus my girlfriend doesnt like it when the turbos kick in lol. Got a nice drive to derby next weekend, maybe i'll take the back roads :)
  16. if it werent for dang fuel costs, i'd be doing 80 mile round trips every weekend in it, visiting parents, daily drives... actually, if it werent for fuel prices and traffic, i'd probably intentionally find a job 20 miles away so i have a 40 mile commute! I'm loving my zed!
  17. assuming your camera has a screw mounting point somewhere, maybe zip tie or gaffa tape a strut between the two front seats, then mount the camera in the middle? Looking forward to the video!
  18. ha, i think i'll have to buy another plate for my mot... my 12" by 3" plate on the front is tiny, its not even as wide as the mounting! standard font and spacing though... have to see.
  19. hmmm, chicken hydrabadi, keema naan and mushroom fried rice. but most importly, tandoori chicken, onion bhaji and kofte kebab for starters. tasty!
  20. i reckon i'll do about 5k this year - its a daily driver, but its only a 5 mile round trip to work :) I am planning on driving down to the french alps next summer, which will add 1500 miles to the clock.
  21. yeah, my seat is as low as it can be but feels like the steering wheel should be up slightly. I find i have to stoop down to see the indicator lights. Maybe they're designed more for the japanese frame :) Gonna be even worse when i fit a smaller diameter wheel lol
  22. actually, i wouldnt mind having the s14 for drifting! If i could afford one id probably drop the zx for an s15... thems are lovely. I know, its sacrilege, but at least its still a nissan!
  23. should be able to make it, seeing as im only 20 miles away
  24. Soooo glad i removed my Clear HP166s from the back of mine... nasty, nasty tyres. No grip at all in the damp. The Falkens FK452s i replaced them with seem a lot better so far. I paid £255 for a pair of 255 35 18s fitted, so £120 a tyre sounds about right to me. I had cheap tyres on the back of my mx5 before this, and then span it in the wet. im definitely not getting cheap tyres on the back again (fronts maybe) for budget tyres, have you considered part worns? buy from a reputable seller, but then you can get some decent contis, michelins or pirellis with 4-5mm of tread for £70 a tyre.
